Her career must be sliding lmfaoooo...Literally first time I've seen her play a black person on screen. She's always racially ambiguous. Like you dont know if she's black and it's never brought up in the story so no one says a thing.
I wanted so badly to like this, but I can’t. The only difference between this and blackish is that it’s more “mainstream”, it’s like they’re saying wearing purple hair, gold chains, and buying materialistic items makes you “black asf” ... hopefully the narrative will change somehow through the show and it’s a reason for them portraying it this way for now. Bc right now it just seems disrespectful.
I think the "Black AF" is probably a comment on colorism. I think in the Black-ish pilot episode Dre claims Bow is not "really black", and she responds, "Okay, if I'm not "really black", then, can someone tell my hair and my ass?" It's also depicted in certain scenes where Bow doesn't know where she stands, like with Junior dating a white woman, with a FB to the OJ verdict. Also, I think Anthony Anderson has jokingly called Tracee Ellis Ross a "hybrid". Rashida Jones and her sister, Kidada, have also given interviews on their Blackness. I think Kidada said something like it's always been easier for Rashida, because she doesn't look "as Black", and Rashida responded, not in the eyes of the Black community. Or, I don't know, when Pres. Obama was running the first time, and among the birtherism, there was the accusation that he wasn't "Black enough", because he was biracial, and raised by white parents. However, after he's elected, and re-elected, he becomes this cultural figurehead. Also, the mere contrast of the show's title, Black-ish, vs. this mockumentary title Black AF. I don't know. It all seems like a commentary on what is considered "Black enough". It is a never-ending conversation.
Thank you!! They got Rashida Jones in this thinking that they’re doing something. But the reality is, nobody would ever think she was half black. She passes as white majorly. Let’s get a new actress on this show
All you people commenting here about how great this is and how much you want to see it, you do realize that this is yet another remake of "The Beverly Hillbillies" whose major comedic premise resides in it's ability to effectively re-enforce every racist Black stereotype it can. But, naw, it's all good 'cause they talk cool and do cool Black stuff and it's got a rappin soundtrack -- and we all know that it ain't really Black unless it's got a hip-hop soundtrack. In 2020? I've never been interested in another man's "trash". I don't have an issue with biracial people but they are not black and will have different experiences. Even this trailer showcases that. Reading these comments and seeing how long ago they were posted goes to show how many of y’all create false claims and ideas about things you barely know anything about.........And y’all were right. It’s another black show made for white audiences that is basically black-ish all the way down to having an arrogant spoiled daughter, an emotional, mildly nerdy eldest son called pops who Kenya is overtly concerned over. A biracial wife, who is insecure with her blackness (frankly, he is too). A young daughter who “wants to see the world burn” and everything has to do with slavery. I can't wait. Love this!
I really think Kenya missed a great opportunity to lean a little more into the reality show aspect to make it stand further apart from blackish. Halfway through the season, it just made me give up and rewatch the first season of blackish.
If you don't like it don't fuckin watch geesh or create what you like see if it gets picked up. It's simple.

So I just watched the first 2 episodes with my lady and We both agree that the show is good but there’s this thing that I always do and I have to read what the critics say. Man I got to see the critics are killing this show and I don’t know why
