Its an amazing mine that one, shame it has been vandalised a lot in the last few years, some idiots even pushed the big blue 1950's car into the water that used to sit at the bottom of the pile, Antonio and a load of other explorers went in earlier this year and cleaned all the graffiti off the walls and got rid of about 20 bags of modern rubbish. I was told many years back that there used to be a massive open entrance to this mine right next to the road, the local council at the time bulldozed all that rubbish in there to block up the entrance, when you look from the outside now it is all overgrown with trees and plants, you would not even know there was a mine entrance there. If you go higher up the hill there are some big open pits up there worth a look.
Interesting, I was literally just about to ask if anyone knew why all that rubbish and the cars were dumped in there, it beggars belief. Council…..yea, sounds about right. Unbelievable 🤦🏻
it was hell of an effort to get it all out, i wouldnt be surprised at all if it was council, we heard it was a local man that used it for his scrap busness
@@MidWalesMineExplorers kudos to you and your mates for cleaning the mess up. My wife & I do litter picks where we live, as do others, trying to do our bit. 🤜🏼🤛
Thanks very much Al and Si. I think an "F" registration is from 1/8/1967 to 31/7/1968 and no year letters were used prior to 1963. If I remember correctly, an "RUY" plate would have originated from Worcester or Worcestershire.
for those asking, there is nowhere around that way to get rid of old cars and when they were dumped they weren't classics, they were just rusty junk, you also have to remember that after the mines closed many locals were unemployed and just got rid of things where they could, and standards and ways of living were very different to how they are now
I recently caught Ioan on the show Underground Worlds showing off the Cwmystwyth lead mine. Heard his voice in the intro section and instantly recognized him. Great tour and I was left wondering if the camera crew was as enthusiastic about crossing some of the gaps as Ioan was?
I've even seen on a Canadian explorers channel years ago where they used loads of big american cars to build up the river bank to stop erosion, crazy how times have changed
Funny you mentioned graffiti, the last video i saw on this cave was everyone cleaning off Exploring With Fighters and Josh's graffiti and shit they left in there.
WTF is wrong with people. Its not your own personal fkn scrap yard site. Why would anyone deliberately drive a car in there. It could at least be sold for scrap metal. Some of those vintage models are rare collectables now.
no it couldn't be sold for scrap, they charged to take them and that was a very impoverished area after the mines closed, and they were just rusty junk when they were dumped and were not rare or collectible, try thinking about things and finding out some facts before slagging off people when you obviously do not know about how it was when they went down there
Yes, ioan is not there and I am surprised at first, but your judgment is very harsh, I am happy about every performance of the band, even if the lead singer is one time not there! Greetings from germany! Glück auf!
Cool your jets Mick. Have you never heard of a colab video between 2 or more channels? If you don't know who Si-Finds is then I suggest you go and search for his numerous TH-cam videos, because his channel is amazing
You and Si Finds are two of my favourite TH-camrs. Great to see you working together.
Thank you so much ☺️
I’ve seen a few videos of this mine before but you guys just took it to another level with the ROV. Great vid
Superb video - loved the ROV and that internal cliff is pretty scary! Nice to meet @SiFinds.
A most excellent adventure Al! Thanks for the knee-trembling experience I can’t wait to go again!! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Great to see Sci there, good man! Looking at the cars was mesmerizing!

Thanks for the details.
Yeah a big job that was, I filled multiple bags with bags just from the entrance tunnel, I can't remember how many dinghys we dragged out from there

Made me chuckle "Why is there a boat down here?" As they are using a sub to look at it under water. Yet no surprise there are cars under the water.
Nice underwater footage👌🏼🎥 it’s great to see the number plates haha 🤩 good to see the place is Graffiti free after our clean up ❤️⚒️
It was tidy down there now 👍
@@LostMinesgreat to hear
Thanks very much Al and Si.

Awesome video, was in there two weeks ago , the fire hose was sound hahaha
That F reg looks like the back end of an Austin A40 Farina.1968
wow loved the vid
Like the new logo

Wow, you could pull some parts out of there!!
brilliant, ive always wanted to see what was below, the boat was crazy. i was told that there are old military trucks at the bottom.'
There were no trucks that we could see
In 30 years time the next generation will have the best of those out and be resorting them 😊

Yes!
not keen on the use of background music
RUF273F
It looks like a Wolseley - 16/60 (ADO38) OHV 8v 1622cc.
That's a MK2 Cortina estate, not sure about the others. I think there's a also a MK1 Capri above water I've seen in other videos. Interesting.
Yeah blue Mk1 under the pile
That's just wierd!!!
Why would they pile it full of cars? Don't they sell them for scrap?
Cool exploring regardless.
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
You had to pay to scrap cars years ago hence they used to get dumped in places like this or even buried
I've even seen on a Canadian explorers channel years ago where they used loads of big american cars to build up the river bank to stop erosion, crazy how times have changed
Have cars not always had scrap value? Can't help wondering why they would end up in there. Might be worth checking in the boots.
When I was younger in the nineties you used to have to pay to scrap cars. I guess recycling streams became more efficient.
Funny you mentioned graffiti, the last video i saw on this cave was everyone cleaning off Exploring With Fighters and Josh's graffiti and shit they left in there.
💪
Sorry to be nosy but why did you remove this video after posting it the first time
I realised I missed some footage so re edited it added the missing footage 👍
How did they put all those cars in there? And...why. It is a whole bunch of scrap metal. I bet at some point someone will "mine" all this metal
Come back Euan all is forgiven
Si finds should stay in London. Cheapened the whole video.

Who's video was this ? Skipped through and didn't watch to the end. Can you go back with the original team, this does not work.
Ioan will be back next time he couldn’t make it on this adventure
