    I don't even have children and I can't stop watching your videos... Just so creative and makes me think what a gift it is to learn in this way. High 5!

    Brilliant play ideas!! But I have some questions.
    1. For how long can you keep the coloured rice because you can't separate it after the colours have been mixed and I'd want her to play with each batch as much as possible before creating more and more separate colours or else it just becomes a waste of rice.
    2. I'm guessing that because the hand sanitizer is not edible it would be a bad idea to cook the rice afterwards as a fun culinary experience for the child. But if you use vinegar, can the rice be cooked so that there is no waste?

      Hi, thanks for the comment.
      1. You can keep the coloured rice as long as you like, unless you notice any growth in the rice, like insects or fungus or whatever. And once it is mixed, it's mixed and i just let my child to play with mixed one and it is still fun for her.
      2. If you want to cook and have the coloured rice after playing, i'd just colour it with a little bit of water instead. It won't be as vibrant as using vinegar or alcohol but you can still get similar result and look pretty.
      Hope this answers your questions. Thanks! 😊

      Yes, thank you so much! The cooked rice would be for eating not playing. But coloured cooked rice makes the culinary experience more interesting than plain rice, that's all. That's why I was asking about vinegar vs sanitizer.

    I think I would go for vinegar, I don't know how I feel about my LO putting the hand sanitizer rice in his mouth

    Hi Hazie, I watch your videos a lot, they are very informative and encouraging, I got very motivated to play with my toddler from watching your videos.
    I recently got the Ikea play table, just wondering where you got that cute kid's bench from?

      I got the magnet from Kmart Australia, but if you are not in Australia, I found magnet bars on Amazon.
      I could not find the giant magnet though..

    Where do you get your flat sensory bottles?

    • @hazieandmotherhood
      @hazieandmotherhood  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 😊 i actually have no clue where that bottles come from, I just used what we had in the cupboard (i don't even know how long they'd been sitting in there).
      I recommend Voss water bottles (small ones) for sensory bottles. They work perfectly!

    • @hazieandmotherhood
      @hazieandmotherhood  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, this is one of the things about Montessori, you observe your child and follow their lead rather than giving them what you want them to play.
      So I simply waited until Alina showed interest in scooping and pouring, until then I just provided her what she was interested in! Hope this helps!! 😉🥰

    Would you say colored rice is better sensory play than kinetic sand?

    • @hazieandmotherhood
      @hazieandmotherhood  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say it depends on the child's age. Alina doesn't want to play with rice anymore (i guess she had enough of it 😅 ) and she prefers kinetic sand now. For younger toddlers, you really dont want them to eat kinetic sand so I'd go with rice but as they get older it's really up to the kid whichever the child wants. It's just my opinion.. hope it helps!

    • @hazieandmotherhood

      I just store the rice in a container. But I'd only save the rice that is dry and discard wet or soiled rice.
