I love Lennie's book! I'm so glad I found it just as I'm beginning my flower business journey.

Agree so much! It's essential to prioritize profit as much as your flower quality. Thanks so much for tuning in. ~felicia

This was a really great conversation. Thank you! When I started to dive deeper into my specific crop numbers this year (thanks to Lennie’s voice) I was really surprised to find that my dianthus made me 3x more profit than anemones. Anemones tend to bloom before wedding season starts here but dianthus blooms right in time for Mother’s Day so the demand and price was higher for the later, as well as lower production costs.

    dear god im jealous
ive been moving to full production on my half acre for 5 years and have contacted 100s of florists and applied for wholesale co-ops and multiple farmers markets every single year since starting. It was only a month ago that I made my first sale of snapdragons after composting thousands of stems a season.

Hmmm….your fresh example of “…losing half your Ranunculus in the high tunnel to voles…” That was just for me! 😂 & 😢.
This interview really helped me determine to keep really good records to analyze my true costs and and ruthlessly ask if those beauties truly worth the effort. 🤫
Thanks for this honest look into discovering and tailoring to your market
