Unfortunately MLB does not believe in Fair Use, so there is a brief chopped clip around the 0:45 mark: 'Two of the Great Detroit Tigers in Franchise history no doubt. They had a great run; albeit no World Series trophy to show for it."
@@softjones3128 Usually when teams are looking to make a playoff run, they are buyers at the trade deadline. They don’t trade away veteran talent. As great as they are, and I am delighted to see they made the playoffs, it was because of great management by A.J. Hinch and incredible play by a bunch of young, untested players. This team won in spite of the GM.
They sold nothing of value. Flaherty wasn’t coming back next season and they got an every day SS plus a guy who’s probably their future catcher in return. Chafin wasn’t coming back either. Mark Cahna was solid but at his age, he’s wasn’t going to be around much longer. The only move I have a problem with was waiving Gio Urshela. They should have tried to get something in return, he was hitting .270 in August. Probably saved the Braves season.
Horrible contract. Can’t even hit situations, constantly striking out when the ONLY thing the team needs is a fly ball to the outfield or god forbid he lays down a sacrifice bunt to advance a runner. Just isn’t much of a team player.
My family got season tickets for the Tigers '24 Season, followed up with purchasing post season, I might get to go to my first postseason game this year!
AJ returning to Minute Maid Park to face the Astros as an opponent adds an extra layer of excitement, making it even more compelling to watch! Good luck Detroit 👍
one of the greatest contributing factors to the run (other than the twins collapse) is the fact that Javy got hurt. After he left the team we immediatley began to see success. He truly is the worst player in all of baseball. Anyone that thinks javier baez is an okay baseball player doesnt watch or doesn't understand his stats and contract. Its no wonder this team is finally free. Having Javier Baez on your team is like using a cruise ship anchor for your speedboat.
I was at over 40 games in ‘84 including the final WS game, I’ve moved north since then and only made 7 games this year. But if the somehow manage to make the WS I will be downtown again!
as a tigers fan i respect you for not just saying fuck the tigers and understanding what is actually taking place in detroit right now. yes i know it’s probably hard seeing the twins fold in the end and tigers take their spot but this comeback from the tigers has been crazy. this video is a perfect timeline to help outsiders understand how wild this is. great video👍
I swear to god if we make a run all the way I am going to cry with joy for days...was 2 years old like time we won it all. I will say from 2006, I could stand to never see a STL celebration ever again lol.
Let Baez finish his contract as an Assistant manager as a Little Caesar's in one of Detroit's finer downtown neighborhoods. He has earned the "promotion".
Can’t believe my tigers are so good we’re getting analysis like this that’s relatively casual trying to ride the wave. The whole reason was because of the bullpen using openers and pitching the entire game, not just the 7th-9th. We only have 2 starters really. Also, colt keith?
Good video, but I just cant let go the way he pronounced "Chafin" at 3:25. I literally paused it and said "what the fuck did you just call him?" out loud lol
U had to remind me of that playoff run…. I was so beyond pssd when it was over. They had some of the best players in history and they just couldn’t do it!!
I feel bad for Baez, but I have to admit that the Tigers has been winning since leaving him out of the lineup. Now they brutally lost to the White Sox 2 games in a row to end the regular season. I know these 2 games don't really matter, but I hope it doesn't affect them going into the game this Tuesday.
I don't think the final 2 White Sox games are much to worry about. Yes, they were bad, but they had an excuse. Game 2, all the boys were clearly out of it from partying too hard the night before. And in Game 3, AJ sacrificed all the worst pitchers so the good ones would be ready for Tuesday. AJ probably told them all not to play too hard and risk injury. If having a miserable June and July couldn't keep the Tigers from playing their best and thinking they could win it all, I highly doubt the final two games could.
@@np8139 Let's see what they can bring to the table tomorrow. I'm proud to say that I missed only 3 home games this season. I could see the attendance change from from being so poor to over 44,000 on 9/27. The atmosphere was incredible.
