R.I.P. Russell Stone who passed away 21 August 2024 and his lovely wife, Joanne, who herself passed away in 1979. This song is a perfect legacy to both of them.
Both were seasoned professional session singers; I seem to recall they had toured with James Last’s band throughout Europe in the early 70s. Certainly Russell sang vocals on the original Whole Lotta Loving before Guys N’ Dolls were formed to mime to it. Shame the follow up singles weren’t enough to bring them bigger success as this one was fabulous. And so sad Joanne passed away later in the 70s xx
