ENDLESS Action Across the Albany Division! CP Olympics Unit, Rail Train, EMDs, and Much More

It's January 7th, and I'm heading out to CSX's busy Castleton Subdivision in Selkirk, NY. Between NS foreign power, a rail train, and an SD70AH-T4 trailing on M433, a great morning of action was in store. Later on, we would catch a couple of Amtrak trains on the Hudson at Tivoli, NY. Historic New York Central Searchlight signals are seen at Tivoli, the heart of the Hudson Division.
On January 8th, we catch a series of four freights in Catskill, NY on the River Line including a rare K5HLB horn on CSXT 5288. A pair of trains in Vorheesville on the CSX Selkirk Sub concludes our weekend, including an ex-Amtrak GP38-3 and an impromptu meetup with ‪@WeatheredRails‬ and ‪@birchhillsubaruguy2184‬. ‪@dansrailfanadventures‬ stopped by as well.

I sure wish I knew what s in the “Do Not Hump” box car behind the priority vans. Electronics? Electrical braking? Your final shot of M626 passing the old NYC wharehouse in V ville you we’re standing on where NS will put the new connector track in to reach Selkirk.

I believe the DO NOT HUMP cars are simplified track geometry cars. Measuring things like speed, tilt, forces, etc

There is still a connector track between the old D&H and NYC lines buried in the bushes... The rails are still in the road there as well. NS is rebuilding this connection so they can access Selkirk Yard from the west/Southern Tier line? I'm curious, tell me more please!

@@SteveRoberts5330 funny thing about that track. The land under it is owned by the company that owns the NYC warehouse, not any RR. Stay tuned.
