It’s actually a great touch as Fabian is hysterical and it’s his amazing laugh that can disguise itself as a cry because of how absurd the last fight was for him.
I love watching Brennan's reaction to this line in the ep- he loves it when players explicitly say stuff like that. (Another good one is how he reaffirms and repeats Murph's poetic "Riz thinks he was a better detective when he was a loser")
Fabian tripping over his feet trying to stop Fig from calling Chungledown Bim at 3:45 is such a beautiful touch. And a perfect set up for the next layer of his breakdown! *chef's kiss*

I freaking LOVE Fabian's arc in this SO MUCH! I was expecting it to be that he would return and fight for the right to his father's legacy and to be a True Pirate, but nO!!! Fabian doesn't have to be JUST his father's son, which was the _only thing he really could be_ growing up because his mom was so distant and out-of-it all the time, but embracing his Elven Heritage was exactly what he needed with no fuss no muss because that is JUST AS MUCH a part of him as the pirate stuff. I'm not biracial or mixed heritage, but I can only imagine how impactful, important, and or touching this storyarc was to people who are. Who grew up feeling they were strongly one identity over the other, but learning to embrace themselves as a whole and that it's not just picking sides. Some stuff works and some stuff doesn't and it's because of who _You as a unique person_ are, not because of traits and tributes of others.
Yeah as a person with friends that are biracial and parents of biracial children, understanding your history is important. Because people love to categorize based off of what they see or try to fit them in a box. I remember my ex telling me about a her kids being biracial and having to want to teach them what it means to not only be Hispanic (like her family) but the Jamaican side (her baby daddy). Her family wanted to raise them like Hispanics and not mention any heritage that involved their dad. But my ex knew she wanted her kids to have an understanding of what really they are.
This is amazing because it's such a sad moments and yet everyone in the room can't stop laughing, even Lou, who's trying his *best* to disguise his laughter as if Fabian's crying

Riz reflexively pulling his gun in response to Adaines ‘No! Our goal is to get an A!’ and then getting embarrassed about it was so cute, made me laugh, loved Adaines animated delivery of it too, this whole animatic is great
God Lou is such a good actor. His laugh-crying in combination with your animation of Fabian flopping around on the floor is just... just perfect. Couldn't picture it any better myself.
I love when the bad kids are drawn like the rubbery teenager babies they are This is so good 😂 Seeing them all huddled in a room really drives home that if they were in any other location this would 100% be Fabian describing a piratey fever dream after a bad trip
All of them telling him him being Bill Seacasters son is actually his least likeable trait is fucking hilarious, but also served as a great way to help him out of that headspace.
Watching the other players throw some heavy ironic expectations and questions at Fabian, then watching Lou run through entire fiasco, spinning laugh attacks into mental breakdown tears had me laughing so much I teared up. This was the PERFECT exchange to animate. Thank you.

It was all amazing, but the "scene" where he dances the elven fire elemental to freedom and unlocks a new form of battle proficiency was so beautiful that I would've teared up had I not been in utter awe. Kristen's dancing attempt in Catheriel was highlighted after all. I'm commenting now because I just watched the episodes covering from Leviathan to Fallinel this week.

an underrated part of this is the way Fabian responds when Adaine says “I don’t like seeing you like this, it scares me” and Fabian is so shell shocked and out of sorts and barely listening that he just responds with the most timid “…. yes?”…. It feels so real.
actually I was thinking about making an animatic for a crown of candy or bloodkeep, so if you have any suggestions from there I'm down! Or, if you have a particular moment you're craving from Fantasy high, I'll definitely consider it!

Saw this at work for the first time. Had to choke back laughs so much I had to step outside for a minute. Yesterday was listening to the episode where they’re flying on a rope while I was driving and nearly crashed when fig asked somebody to teleport them.
This breakdown always kills me. Like, I can’t watch it without absolutely cracking up, and “he said he was gonna shit in my MOUTHHH” is something I quote way too often. I remember when I first got to this section I was in tears I was laughing so hard :’)

What I love about this is how everyone was at the table and present for everything that happened to Fabian, but their characters weren't, so they're fully playing ignorant and feeding Lou what they KNOW didn't happen, because it makes the scene funnier; what sets Dim20 apart from other Live Plays is that these people are professional joke makers. And even a scene like this, which is full of trauma and pathos, is made all the better by the comedy.
