WOW man…just WOW. There I was so proud of myself for exchanging the OEM carburator on my ‘79 for a Weber DEFV…and then I come across your video 😵😵😵…KUDOS TO YOU!!!

😂 well, hats off to you and anyone else wanting to try to get Weber carbs working and tuned right. That can be a serious chore. Of course they sound amazing.

This is such a COOL build, I've always loved the look of the 124 Spider 2000, and have owned several. How for along are you with the project? Can I ask approx how much you have into this project?
What are you expecting for H.P. ?
      Nice job 👍

@@5589daniel thanks and appreciate the comment. Hard to say exactly how much $ into it, mainly because a lot of mechanical parts are essentially spare or free parts from other projects. However if I had to estimate cost for everything except the car, 7-8k would be a start. When all done, I will do a cost breakdown video.
HP goals are modest. I would be happy with 175HP at the wheels. At least to start. Beyond that, I will need re-think differential and transmission option or upgrades.

🎉this is amazing. I have been wanting to do a Fiat 124 swap and wasn’t sure how hard it would be. Your video is NOT encouraging lol😂.

I don't know about that. I think with some grit, you got this ;-) Seriously, depending on the engine/drivetrain you want to do, it could be easy(er). I think in my case, making the engine and exhaust header fit and putting the steering system 2nd to it has caused me some unnecessary headache. As much as I wanted to convert to rack and pinion, it really isn't that necessary. Same with converting to hydraulic clutch (later video). If you go kswap, go BMW transmission for sure. More $ but more options.

I'm so glad I found your channel. We've met a couple of times at Menlo Park Cars and Coffees, and love your X1-9! Thanks for sharing the engineering details and the thought process behind the build. I'm considering an ambitious engine swap project, but have never done anything like it. Do you have a preferred source for your K engines/gearboxes/ECUs? (I've got the yellow Caterham Seven).

Hey! Be awesome to see you do an engine swap project - if you are considering a K Series, I am happy to help where I can. I haven't used one specific resource for my swap sources, but there is a place in Sacramento, CA I got a JDM k24 from. Otherwise I just monitor FB marketplace and Craigslist.

Hi there ! Would you be willing to talk to me about this? Can I call you? This is amazing and I can’t stop thinking about it. Either way, thank you for sharing!
