They mate for life in the wild! I had the same Scrub Jay couple & their many offspring visit my yard daily for TWENTY YEARS!
Each bird was unique and incredibly consistent in their behaviors. From the order they ate food (wife first, husband second), to where they would perch (wife on fence, husband on low branch), to how they would bathe, call to each other and preen. I saw them mate, bring their fledglings, shoo their fledglings away. Until one day, they ceded my yard to their beautiful son and I never saw them again 😭

I really don't feel like she did. Bloom clearly had a special connection with her. You don't just get rid of that and expect it to work out just fine. I'm happy she got her back but god damn man, not every release is the best outcome >.
Ideally, we want wild animals to return to the wild and live free with their own kind. But REALITY is often not ideal. Clearly, Bloom feels safer and happier with you. Thank you for welcoming her into your home and family!
She would have been dead if not rescued, so... It's better she stays with her Hooman lover.
I saw a documentary on crows and ravens (corvids) a couple of years ago and wild corvids were able to remember human faces years after seeing them. Its not surprising that this crow remembered her human mother.
Crows remember faces they associate with good or bad experience and will remember you forever.
Crows are so intelligent. They have lots of feelings too. 🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛💙💙
She's obviously happier being with her human. She's so sweet.

Beautiful. Thank you for reaching and nurturing this lovely crow. Probably best to keep her domestic as she has no fear of dogs or cats and most will attack her in the wild.
This lady is very compassionate for saving this beautiful sweet little crow I love to hear crows I live out of the country thank God I'm a c country boy and there are a lot of crows out here in the country where I live to hear him holler when they are out feeding and there's a little songbird that comes around there are a lot of woods out here where I live they love to be in the trees another song about when he comes around he's just he's a little angel from heaven I'll talk back to the best I can and then he'll talk back to me he is a precious little bird God made a lot of beautiful things right 🙏🙏🙏 nature is wonderful

Poor sweet baby bird. She loves her Mummy's kisses and snuggles too much to leave her. They have a beautiful bond and a truly heartwarming connection. They're both lucky to have each other.
It was funny her tiptoeing towards the cat to nip it's tail!
The cat looked up like:
*"MUMMMM tell her PLEASE, I'm trying to sleep!"* 😩
Her Mum called her and Bloom was like:
*"Who me? Yes Mama I'm coming, I'm a good girl!"* 😁
She knew instantly she was being naughty! 😜

Fun Fact... I used to live in Jackson, Wyoming which is a big resort town in the Rocky Mountains. Enough rich folk either had their pet ravens get away, or they released them, to have a thriving population there. There were big flocks of huge ravens that would go around town and swarm dumpsters for food.
We want wild animals to return to nature and coexist with their own species. But TRUTH is often not good. Bloom clearly feels safe and happy around him. Thank you for welcoming him into your home and family!

Bless you for offering her choices and your love. I share my home and life with Large Parrots. Yes, they are a "bad pet" for most people. The Cockatoo call can be jet engine loud, her beak could remove my nose or break my fingers. She is exquisitely gentle and has never bitten in 12 years. She has only ever known all our love and tender touch, she is allowed as much free rein as possible and she is SO SMART! I love her with all my heart and I am so happy you do the same! Thank you! ❤

I used to volunteer at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility and I couldn't help but fall in love with all of the birds in my care, both wild and domestic. I found a baby Raven that had fallen from a nest. It was still without feathers and barely able to stand. My wife & I raised it to adulthood. It was just another of our numerous pets and developed a close relationship with us all. After it became skilled at flying around the house we brought it to a fishing town and let it go. There was plenty of food around and I'm sure it did well.
Just love them!! Good memories when I was kid. Talked to them in my paper route every morning.

My friend took in a baby wild crow, he would play with the cats and chase the tortoise around. He would pinch and hide things from her. She had him for about 18mths One day he just flew off and never heard from him again. There were lots of other crows around and think he found his friends.
