When I was younger I often felt lonely and that nobody understood me. I always waited for somebody who would make my life better. I wish I had known it was always me. Because healthy relationships with people can appear when you have healthy relationships with yourself. Feel very inspired and ready for the new day after watching this, thanks :)
I swear, your "energy management" video is SUCH A GAMECHANGER. I just loved it so much and it helped me to manage my days so much better since I watched it, because I focus not so much on time anymore, but on my energy levels, and on how to restore them. Thank you so much for that, it opened my eyes ❤️
I totally love you, but I feel like you’re a bit hard on yourself about your younger years. Those party years are just a right of passage and they showed you insight into a lifestyle you didn’t want forever. Had you never done any partying, I think you would’ve regretted it and wondered why you didn’t have any fun in the moment.
absolutely. everything I did in my past led me exactly to where I am today and I'm incredibly grateful for that-all the pain and anxiety and mental instability included. don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with partying & having a good time! looking back, I just realized how much I lived for other people and others' approval.
I read a book once that said, "Unless you think that everyone on earth is living successful, engaged lives, if you want to be successful, do the opposite of what everyone else is doing." and I thought that that matched up perfectly with you saying "Don't be afraid to be something different" :)
I learned this year that just by being "busy" and feeling "exhausted" from work does NOT mean I am necessarily more productive. It was kind of hard to get out of the habit of thinking this since I feel like it has been programmed in us as a society. But working smarter and being more healthy about work definitely increased my productivity and lessened my stress overall :))
I recently rewatched spirited away. It was so nostalgic. I struggle with letting go of my past because I’m o sure of my the future but each day I try to be a little bit more present. Love you Ro
the other day i realized I've been passsive about my life for way too many years, felt guilty and ashamed. This video made me feel less alone in that feeling and helped me realize I can always change for the better. Thank you!!!!
That point about passively or actively watching movies is such a game changer. I get so irritated when I show someone I care about a movie or a show that I really like and they don’t pay attention 🙃
Omg I used to literally make myself busy just to be busy, somehow I thought that I should always be doing something even if I wasn’t actually being productive
I feel this. It got to the point where if I wasn’t busy I’d have a breakdown because I felt useless. I am trying to learn to have a better work-life balance
I read a few comments pointing out how you seem to disapprove of your “party life” past and it’s funny, bc if that’s true, I feel like we’re the opposite. 😂 I *wanted* to experience what you have, but at 24 I still have never been clubbing, or danced for that matter. or even dated. I kind of had to go thru a mental breakdown so much earlier than I anticipated that it left my late teen years to early adult years just... a hazy nothingness. I know everyone’s life path is different, but I guess I get bitter now and then whenever I see creators “changing their lives drastically for the better” having had their previous lives “an experimental mess” which... seems more of a rite of passage for me, more than anything... but, I am happy that you’re happy now, Rowena. thank you for being you ❤️
ahh I went through all of that in a hazy nothingness as well. 😅 it's less disapproving of my previous lifestyle choices, more so realizing how much I was living for other people, chasing what I thought was "cool," and allow what others thought of me to dictate my every word and move. nonetheless, I'm grateful for your gentleness with this comment and yourself-I really admire how vulnerable & honest you are! 🙏 ❤️
I have had this exact same experience. I'm 22 now and I have not dipped foot in any of that lifestyle but I crave it and I worry I'll be too old to do it soon :(
I completely understand this feeling that you "wasted" your teen years or grew up too fast. A book that really helped me with this feeling is "What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding" by Kristen Newman. It's about the author who started her dating/partying/solo travel phase at 30. It really reassured me that adventures don't stop at 25 and you have your whole life to experiment, try new things, and have those romcom moments with someone.
You're right where you need to be. Take a breath & soak that truth in. You are making a difference. You are worthy. You are brilliant. May all your worries wash away and you find pockets of peace throughout your day 💗 Dr. Liz
Thought provoking questions! Thank you. I wasted time on men, partying. And on people who had no true feelings for me. Thank you for being so candid. I’ve been on the road to newness since 2001.
You kindness just breaks through the screen, fills me on the inside and makes me want to be kinder to myself and others. Thank you so much. I needed this.
I'm 17. I've been feeling unmotivated. Yet I'm still in the first chapter of my life and this video helped me realize that there's so much more I'm yet to see, eat and feel etc. Thank you for this. Honestly
I hope you have found a way to become motivated. You are very young. Enjoy your youth! Finish school and college or technical school in a field that you enjoy. Take your time and find good goal oriented people to be friends with. Most of all, take very good care of yourself and your future. 🎉
Unconditional kindness is a really great tip for me personally. I have a rather fiery temper and when I’m angry or sad sometimes I take it out on other unintentionally.
I've been a quiet admirer for quite some time now. I read some books you recommended, I implemented mantras of yours and took your advice to my heart. But now I want to thank you for always reminding me to be kind. To myself, and everyone else. Lots of love!
Rowena! I just want to thank you for existing. Thank you for gifting us your presence. Your videos are like a warm cup of coffee. You bring me comfort, acceptance, and motivation. Thank you!
I always feel so much better after watching your content. I’ve been feeling quite lost these past few months and I found myself overwhelmingly lost in a sea a productivity, motivational, and self care videos. All your videos, but especially this one, has a sort of grounding quality... it hits me where other don’t. Your content is the best self care activity and I hope to soon find what I’m looking for. Forever a fan❤️
I love this video and particularly the focus on kindness. I think that being unconditionally kind is sometimes seen as a weakness, or some people don't understand it, but I think it's actually so much more of a strength.
I used to be so all out on my early teenage days, so curious and always want to be free and wander around. But on my later years on high school, i choose to slow down. I always stay at home and focus on my own self growth and healing. And now I'm a totally different person than what i used to be 8 years ago. Now, My self, family and work is the most important for me.
I have to say, of all the youtubers I follow for relaxing videos, this one brought me the most peace and calm I have experienced in a long while on YT. thank you for your hard work and meditative voice! much appreciated

A good analogy for the "Find the middle ground" point is that balancing life is like plate spinning. You can't spin every pole at once, only one at a time. It's not about doing everything at once, but switching which plate you prioritize when the time is right so that they can all keep spinning. "It's about doing what you need to do when you need to do it."

I think you're a few years younger than me but now and then I like to watch your videos cause you have so many nuggets of wisdom. "Who you were is not who you are, and who you are is not who you will be."
Lovely video to wake up to :) My partner was snoring so loud this morning (5.30am?) I eventually gave up on sleep at ~6am (I usually wake up at 8am) and I was SO annoyed and angry with him. (He's off work for like a week and will probably be asleep until 11am) But ironically the negative feelings woke me up more so I couldn't get back to sleep even when wrapped in a little cocoon of blankets on the sofa 🙄 Taking this morning as a chance to experiment with my energy levels and wake up slowly, but also setting an intention to be kind. As much as he annoys me, I still love him and would be worse off without him. We've been together 5 and a half years now and this year has seriously tested us, and I think I shut everything out for a little while and took him for granted. Now I'm trying to notice all the little things he does to make me smile, like he was snoring in my ear but he had me tucked into his side which is kinda sweet :3

Rowena, thank you so much for this video- I can't explain it but this has helped me so so so much. These past few days have been so tough but watching your video has helped put things into perspective, has helped in giving me the right perspective. lots of love xx
