Plus, most American veiwers (where I am from) associate "competitive" with 6v6 singles. The Choice Scarf set is underrated tbh. It's a great way to play around defensive Tera/ switches midgame with Trick and you can use Iron Valiant's speed multiple times during a game
As someone who plays National Dex Monotype primarily, a format that banned Booster Energy pretty early on, I still have to face a Quark Drive boosted Iron Valiant regularly, as Koko + Valiant is a standard core on fairy teams (frequently with All-Out Pummelling Valiant). Unfortunately for them, I play Electric, and max speed Regieleki outspeeds a Quark Drive boosted Iron Valiant by TWO GOD DAMN SPEED POINTS. And Reginald also oneshots Valiant with Rising Voltage even behind screens.
LMFAO this happened to me the other day. With some friends we made some monotype teams, and since my favorite one is Fairy, I went to the Teambuilder. My friends' teams didn't have many good ubers/OU mons (Grass and Normal), so I toned down mine a bit and swapped Flutter Mane for Tapu Woke. You can imagine how that went. My favorite part was them taunting my Tinkaton only to get smacked by a 252+ attack Assault Vest Gigaton Hammer, getting sent to the Shadow Realm.
I don't play singles but its good to see the coolest future paradox design actually do something for once. In VGC the most ive seen is Destiny bond + Set trick room to make destiny bond work for 2 turns. Which is a stupid gimmick but I actually love how that works
I actually adore Gambit, because as broken and annoying to play against as it is, it pretty much saved the Bisharp line from falling into irrelevancy. It's pretty rare that a design I love that much just wrecks shit every game
I don't think Kingambit disappearing or not coming into existence would completely make Bisharp line forgotten. They have access to Defiant, a good ability to set up sweeps and counter opponent's anti-sweep measures, and a p good stats for a steel type bulky sweeper. Even if power creep may shoo him out of OU, he can still find success in lower tiers. Im p sure Pawniard is also good in LC.
bisharp was not hurting at all in terms of relevancy lmao. UU in BW, OU in XY, back to UU in SM, and back to OU in SS. man's is only RU this gen because everyone wants to use kingambit and there's too many mons in UU that'll tear out its spine.

I haven't played Pokemon competitively since 6th gen switched to the TCG since that point but its very funny to see that iron valiant which is my main deck right now and iron hands are just as obstructive in the video game as they are in the TCG down to the booster energy being the main enabler for valiant to deal damage in the TCG

He's got a few good moves in doubles when paired with Flamingo's Co-Star, such as: -Wide Guard -Disable -Quick Guard -Swords Dance -Agility And since Flamigo's ability allows it to copy all stat changes from your partner, it gets them ready for a Valiant Sweep, but guess what it's actually a Flamigo sweep
It has some interesting ideas for sure. The issue is that it's just so frail. With stuff like Flutter, Chi-Yu, and Pao running around it struggles to take hits
encore revenge after gambit KOs a mon with a sucker punch is the best way to make iron valiant a 100% counter, not good for sweeping though as you give up boost/coverage
I dropped competitive mons during gen 8, came back for the beginning of gen 9 vgc, then dipped again before the expansions, so learning about the strength of new mons from these vids are both hilarious and infuriating. Subbed.
