With the moving camera it's hard to see some of the shapes the choreo is drawing. It is beautiful choreography. Their Performance Director, Huang Sooyeon, has been creating amazing choreo for about 4 years now. Dreamcatcher almost always sing live for performances. They are incredibly strong dancers and I've seen them perform three songs in a row while dancing and singing live. If you watch their performances on the music shows you will notice there is a backing track, but you can clearly hear them singing perfectly over top of it.
Yes, the girls got their 3rd and 4th win with Bon Voyage! 🥳🥳 "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
This is why I love Dreamcatcher. People can enjoy their visual, music style, amazing voices, meaning/story behind the lyrics, and choreography. I also felt that the dance moves for Bon Voyage is less intense compared to their previous title tracks, but it does suits the vibe of the song. But yea, that one move at the dance break section where they had to squat...ouch :|
