    after watching a ton of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and watching Susie Dent trying to be so polite & mild-mannered, it's amazing to see her go "fuck that, I'm going to let it all fucking out, because that's the dog's bollocks!" I didn't know she had it in her...

    So, basically, terms for the female genitalia are "strong" swearwords, whereas terms for male genitalia are "medium"...

    • @Youchubeswindon
      @Youchubeswindon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The swear words for the male genitalia were medical 'based' terms
      The female related swear words where colloquial negative description terms, I am pretty sure Labia and Vagina would be rated mild.

    • @beeble2003
      @beeble2003 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Youchubeswindon Neither "bollocks" nor "prick" is a medical term. "Labia" and "vagina" aren't swearwords: those _are_ the anatomical terms. Is "flaps" negative?

    I find it very interesting that the proper English people are far more accepting of swearing on TV than us Americans. I think it’s acceptable for shows that are not likely to have children watching, but kit needs to be carefully controlled.

    • @nickwatkins5321
      @nickwatkins5321 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s just another part of the language. I’m surprised bollocks was classed as offensive as in 1977 a judge in a British court of law deemed it wasn’t.
      When the Sex Pistols released their album, some shops wouldn’t advertise it. It went to court and the judge said it was a made up word with no real meaning, only what people want to attach to it.

    my first swear was ''f-u-c-k-y!!'' I forgot the OU I was 5 I hadn't developed my spelling skills ... speaking of spelling, if you really mean it you spell it with a ''K'' instead of a ''C'' and if it's an olde dried up one, it's a Crunt. A Crusty One. American Sign Language Finger Spelling using the ''K'' spelling is very interesting as well.

Preceded or accompanied by a much briefer discussion about choosing language for time and place but also being able to appreciate well-used language, swearing or otherwise.

      They hear it all the time, online, with their pals. You can't "protect" people from common language. Educate them about when it is and is not OK to use the words, that's the best you can do. Point out that even the comedians won't use that language when talking to their nan or in professional situations. It's banter, to be kept to pals and used in fun, not anger. Educate instead of pretending it's not a thing.
