That ending bothers me to this day knowing Cage and the girl’s mother really were the only people that really knew her and the world will keep on going as if she never existed. It’s so sad and so grim.
Thank you for pointing out some illogical decisions in the script in a very funny way! You're great at it, guys) For me this is one of those movies that you watch once and never again, but you remember it for the rest of your life. It's just too hard and traumatizing, especially when you realize, that such horrible, inhuman acts are happening all around the world. Cage is amazing at showing the character's decent into darkness. The scene where he cries, begging his wife to save him, is incredible.
Thank you for saying that, we really appreciate it!! Yes, this movie is totally memorable for so many reasons and a lot of them are so dark!! That scene strong!
@26:33 Investigator Tim Wells most likely would have left and maybe even called the police... but Dino already knew that... and is why he held Max as captive to make sure that Tom Wells came back with the film.
I’m so glad that 8mm gets talked about here. This is one of my favorite Nicolas Cage films ever. And we don’t need to know why the villains are doing what they’re doing………..because they could. Not to mention they don’t need a reason, this is what they do for a living. Great review. Could you do a review for Bangkok Dangerous?
I listened to the commentary with Joel Schumacher and he stated the original throat slash of Max California was shot bloodly and graphic, but the censors made them cut it down to the version you see in the film now.
I watched this during my nightly movie-watch with my best friend. It blew us away! We had no idea what we were getting into, and we just screamed the entire time about how amazing it was. It was powerful in ways we adored. Funny in so many little ways, too. Joachim Phoenix was fantastic in his role
Funny.. all these years I never noticed that machine had “slit” maxs throat. I always assumed he just broke his neck.. so funny seeing this now and seeing basically “a dry run” as you said… 🤣 so funny..
The one thing that always bothered me about this movie was when cage is searching for machine he calls the hospital pretending he’s a police detective. The hospital employee just gives him the patience’s personal information without asking for any kind of identification. She just assumes that he’s a cop right off the bat.
I have a quick question, was Nic Cage’s reaction of pain and disgust when watching the snuff film on the projector similar to your reaction watching Mannequin last week?
Devil's Advocate with Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino etc Eyes Wide Shut with Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman etc Fallen with Denzel Washington etc End Of Days with Arnold Schwarzenegger etc Matrix with Keanu Reeves etc Blade with Wesley Snipes etc Spawn with Michael Jai White etc The Crow with Brandon Lee etc Great movies to watch. And have almost similar themes.

For real!! Incredibly dark and sad

Exactly!! The “why” for an antagonist is better left to our imaginations

Hilarious that that was the scene they found to be too much. 😂
@@KisstheReviews of course, the machete strangle gang bang kill wasn't as bad. Lol!

Love that!! He was remarkable!
Guys would be interested in reviewing The Fly 1986 or A Scanner Darkly?
Absolutely although the Fly is straight up nasty!!

Great movies! We’ve added them to the list!!
Can you guys do add Nicolas Cage's 1998 movie Snake Eyes?
It's available to watch on both TH-cam and Pluto TV right now.
We will absolutely add that to the list! Underrated movie!
I want a shirt with a picture of armando shirtless on it!!!
Don’t we all?
I can give or take on nic cage but I finally watched gone in 60 seconds last year and I really enjoyed it
