  • The Maunsell Sea Forts are a number of Army and Navy Forts built in the Thames Estuary to defend the United Kingdom during World War 2.
Decommissioned once War had ended, the forts became home to pirate radio stations as well as filming locations for Danger Man and, most famously. Doctor Who in the 6 part Fury from the Deep story with Patrick Troughton.
Today, the towering tripod like Forts stand decaying in the sea. Danielle and I head on board the X-Pilot and sail out to sea to find them.
But......which one of us loses our sea legs on the journey 🤢

This was amazing. What fantastic structures. Sorry to hear you learned of your sea sickness. I empathise 😢! There is at least 2 of these across the water from Spurn Point towards Cleethorpes. The pill houses I wrote of before have soldiers writings in them. There are sound dishes too and a visitor friendly lighthouse and abandoned lighthouse. It’s a really historic and fascinating place. I go annually. Try Westmere Farm for very reasonable accommodation if you fancy a visit 😊
