a lot of singers that write with melodies first do it that way…not all the lyrics are born that way they color notes and go back and fit words in it. I know Mariah Carey works that way, and Sia does too, and apparently Taylor Swift
That’s how pretty much everyone writes unless they have a lyric already written, it used to be called scat singing or vocalese in jazz, that’s how you find the vocal melody.
@@fallonstanley449 it's not. a fan once asked "Where's the Getaway Car Music Video" and Taylor answered "It just wasn't a single", destroying the hopes of millions of fans :')
I wish she did this for all her albums. It’s absolutely incredible and so intriguing. She looks so chaotic and calculated at the same time. So creative and talented. You can tell her mind is going a million miles per hour and she’s so focused
A misconception some people have is that Taylor always comes to a production / recording session with the lyrics to a song already fully written. She did this mostly with Nathan Chapman in her earlier albums, but with many other producers she's worked with, especially Max Martin, Shellback and Antonoff, in most cases she would finish creating the lyrics with them. This is why those producers are credited as songwriters in most of the songs they worked on with Taylor. This video is a great example of that process.
You do realise that writing a song and being credited as a songwriter can come from writing/creating the instrumental ie without lyrics, right? Songwriter credits are not lyrics alone.
She freakin create her own music..... She was absolutely right.....her music is her own blood sweat tears.....I mean she does everything... lyrics...composing....music video concepts..... She owns her music than any other singer or label...
These are so fascinating. What she creates is art. She’s a true artist. Writes songs, plays multiple instruments, an amazing entertainer …. oh and luckily can sing the songs too. I think her singing is just secondary to her real artistic genius.
Something so raw and beautiful about watching someone making music in the moment. It will forever be cemented as one of the greatest artforms in our history. Thank you Taylor for blessing us with this video and being able to watch you make this song. Its one of my favorites from the album
Maybe her voice isnt one of the best ranges in the world. Actually, i dont give a fuck about that. Focus on a fact, that her voice is recorded by shitty phone whithout any compression and equalization. She has a very clear voice.
i love when she’s just rambling and not actually trying to sing and push her vocals because it sounds so raw and even though she’s just like rambling it sounds so good.
The arrangements of "Getaway Car" would have been even better had Taylor Swift been joined by a full choral group in the background...Taylor Swift said it, it's about the adventures of a young Bonnie and Clyde. 😍
I love it when she does videos like these. She is by no means a Beyoncé or Florence Welch but these BTS videos really showcase how far she’s come as a vocalist since her teenage years. Her tone is more consistent and she sounds much more comfortable with herself.
She doesn't need to be either of those people to have a good voice. I saw her in concert. I went to the Reputation Tour in 2018, and she sounded amazing.
No. getaway car is more like having a relationship in a new guy while you still have a guy. It's like you and your new guy went into a relationship metaphored as "getaway car". "We were flyin, but we never get far." They feel like they were flying because of greatness but they never get too far because they caught up early by her present boyfriend
Time for this video again. I love how Jack's ideas are the NNNN sound and getting Taylor rolling with the bridge, because even when she says she isn't sure about a lyric, she already has all the answers from the start - "don't pretend," "first met." She doesn't even seem truly unsure, maybe just needed to hear it out loud, but her first instincts really were correct and he mostly echoed back to her and supported while she guided the song to answer her own question. Love them!
She picked up where she was at in the music soo fast too! this is very interesting but it’s crazy how the minute changes made the song way better and she knew from the beginning what she wanted it to sound like the musical ear she has is crazyyyy 😭😭
