the picture quilt was so awsome. It made me think of my grandmother who taught me to sew. Grandmas are the best and now that i can also claim that title I will enjoy every minute of it.
Liz ... love all of your quilts, they are so colourful ! Your grandmother must be have cried when you gifted her the family quilt ... what a lovely and thoughtful gift !
Super sweet. I'm sure your grandmother absolutely loved that precious quilt. I loved your pillows. They are so cute. Thanks for sharing all the things. Have a great week, and I hope you get some stitchy time. Take care. Diane
Your first Christmas quilt is beautiful. You did a great job on it even if you did not know all the tips at the time. Love the new Christmas quilt too. Thanks for sharing both.
Thanks for showing us the photo Xmas quilt. What a nice remembrance for your grandma and now you. Those pillows your sister could not keep are super festive with your quilt.
Your Christmas quilt and pillows are so awesome❤️Glad you got the pillows back😊Great video, really fun. You make me want to do some BRIGHT colors like your quilt, very inspiring.
Wow! You make finishing ornaments seem so quick and easy! Your first quilt was fabulous and made with love. I'm sure that your talent and thoughtfulness made your sweet grandmother very very happy and now every year when you get her quilt out, you receive some of that happiness too in all the sweet memories it brings. You really stitched a lot on the Merry Christmas pin cushion from Blackbird Designs (can't remember the name). It is beautiful and guess what, I'm going to have to buy one because it is so pretty. You are definitely an enabler. LOL Thanks again for the sweet comments about my Halloween decorations on my Flosstube. Happy Thanksgiving!
You should be very proud of your family photo quilt! It was beautiful!! Your work is outstanding. Looking forward to seeing more. Good luck with finishing boyfriend"s quilt.
I know exactly what you feel about your picture quilt. I also have some quilts I made at the beginning while learning and love the dearly and also display them at the house. Thank you for sharing all you do so wonderfully
Of course you love that Christmas Quilt and so do we all. It has been made and gifted with love and hold so many family memories to you. It was made perfectly. Thank you also for the ornament finish overview, always looking for ideas for small finishes... I'm a first time viewer and will return to see your progress and finishes.
The Christmas quilt you made for your grandmother is beautiful! I’m sure she treasured it. I know I would! Thanks for sharing your quilts with us. I got my All Hallows’ Eve fabric!! Now to start on the Irish chain quilt. I know. Past the season, but that’s okay. Hope you get more stitching time this week.🙂
Thank you for the video. Love your quilts and Christmas decorations..your ornaments are amazing! I usually start decorating for Christmas the first of December...but we do need a lot more cheer this year!
Love all your holiday decorations and your photo transfer Christmas quilt. I remember when photo transfer was popular. I even made 2 quilts using that technique. Lots of memories are stitched into that quilt. Love your videos and look forward to watching each new one. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Love that you shared your first quilt and it’s beautiful - what a keepsake to look at and reminisce every year. Your tag finishes are fab - I’m inspired to give it a go. I laughed out loud when you talked about man quilts being boring (I think that’s what you said but it’s the premise) - my husband is the same 🤦♀️ Oh well, so long as they love it. Hope your upcoming days allow for some more crafty time. Best wishes and see you again next time 🥰
Your picture quilt is great - what a great way to capture years of family photos! P.S. I had a few of those puffy paint shirts too - they were the best!
Watching you while hand stitching binding (1 down, 4 to go for Christmas gifts)! Soooo...watched Shilo’s latest video and I’m obsessing over the Sharon’s Glamping Blanket she’s doing.....I don’t know how to knit! I can crochet, so now I’m on the hunt for a similar pattern for crochet. Those colors reeled me in ☺️
I love all your Christmas quilts and pillows! The one you made for a grandma is extra special. I’m not surprised that you just HAD to stitch that little sampler with your name on it! It’s looking great so far. When you were talking about the PNPS magazine, it reminded me that I haven’t looked at mine yet (I also have a digital subscription) so that’s where I’m going now! Thanks for a lovely video.
Thanks for your visit today...lovely Christmas patterns, quilts, and pillows...how is your sister doing with her downsizing...stay safe and well...happy stitching ❣️
Ummm your first Christmas quilt is way better than anything I could make!! I love all the photos and I know your grandma felt loved when she was wrapped up in it.
Oh my I don't think I have ever seen a pillow done like that with a zipper and binding super cute! After the holidays and your work day has slowed you should do a little tutorial on that I'd love to see it . Hope you have a good week and get a little stitching time in with your busy schedule!
We’re going all out with decorating this year. I won’t get to see my family for Thanksgiving or Christmas (I’m in MS and they are in PA &NJ) so Christmas will be exploding in my home. You are making me want to quilt, and I already have too many crafts! Have a great week!
Love your Xmas quilt. It’s beautiful and so sentimental ❤️. I can’t wait to see Rob’s quilt when it’s finished. He’s going to love it! Your ornament finish is beautiful. Thanks for inserting the tutorials. I will definitely be rewatching when I have finishing to do.
Loved this video. You ALMOST got me to start putting up Christmas decorations and the tree before Thanksgiving. I have my grand daughter's pictures printed on fabric to make a quilt, just haven't done it yet.
I have been quilting since 1973. Please take pictures. Of all your quilts and who they were gifted to. I’ve made quilts for the girls I work with and I made baby quilts For their grandchildren. I made quilts for sick parents and quilts for people going away. I have pictures of most of them but I wish I had pictures of all. My husband started asking me for quitters for his Bible study group. I’m sorry to say they were not ones I would’ve picked gifts it was always nice to get a note back telling me why they liked it and what it meant to them I am surrounded by clouds in my house. I get to love them every day. One day they will go to a new home when I get to know the person better. My kids love my quilts too and they have picked out one they want when I’m gone. All this to say take pictures of your quilts and take pictures of your Crosstitch so you can always remember them.
I love your Christmas snuggle quilt so much 💖 unfortunately here in Australia in December we need air conditioning and a fan on lol you are such a talented sewer/quilter.
I’ve always thought it would be fun to visit somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere around Christmas! Summer is my favorite season and Christmas is my favorite holiday, combining them seems lovely!
Your first Christmas quilt is precious!! So many people don’t have their first to look back on and cherish how they started. Love the ornament finish, too cute!! Christmas is my favorite, my tree is up but not decorated yet. I bought a new one and when it arrived I set up right away. It’s so pretty ❤️🎄 Thanks for sharing and inspiring!! xxx
Your photo quilt you made for your grandmother is amazing. Love your Christmas quilt with Ruby Stars fabric. Where do you find that line? I love the matching pillows that were re-homed to you. And how does one live in a tiny house anyway?! My sewing/crafting stuff would never fit! LOL. Happy Thanksgiving!🧡
Thank you!! I buy most of my Ruby Star fabric at The FatQuarterShop! I know! She gave me back my old sewing machine and gave my mom her fabric, she had to cut back on hobbies to move into her house!
Loved seeing your stitching and quilting progress. I’ve no doubt that you will get Rob’s quilt finished in time. I’ve got some quilting projects to finish myself. I really like the pillows you made. What size pillow form did you use?
I just went and checked my amazon order history and it looks like i ordered 14x19 toddler pillows because it fit my dimensions with the charm squares the best!
The Christmas quilts are beautiful! I love the ornaments in the tag shape. I noticed that you had a finish in the intro that said Have a berry Christmas. My maiden name is Berry. Would you please tell me what pattern that is? Thank you 😊 Take care and I hope you get more sewing time this week ❣️
Thank you so much! I am a project manager at a large tech company, basically a lot of talking and meetings and system flows and timeline discussions etc. I have to keep a lot of ducks in a row to keep new products or new system enhancements moving along.
I like a 2 inch margin on my stitched pieces so if I'm starting in the right corner I find my 2 inches down and 2 inches in from the right and mark that with a pin, and then count from there to make my first stitch, if it's something with a straight border, no counting required, but if its a little motif I'll count over to it from my margin pin and start!
I just used a package of printable fabric through my inkjet printer, like printing a photo but on to fabric. The quilt has never been washed which is definitely why the photos are holding up so well. My granny only displayed it in her home and I haven’t ever used it as a normal quilt so the photos have stayed in good condition!
I long arm my quilts myself, depending on size it takes me between 2-4 hours and I pay 20/hr at my long arm quilt studio. Sending them out is usually more, most people charge 1.5-3 cents per square inch but it can vary!
@@elizabethanncanstitch oh thank you, my hearing isn't the best. You are adorable, I'm happy I found your channel. Thank you for sharing your talents.😊
All your stitchy projects are wonderful but the photo quilt for Grandma is extra special and a sweet way to remember her. 🧵 xxx

Thank you! You too!
I bet your Grandma LOVED that quilt! Enjoyed your video! 🌲🌲🌲
Oh she did! Thank you!
I've never thought of actually cutting the rick-rack into 4 strips rather than going around the corner! Brilliant!!
Right?? It lets you get your placement just how you want it! I learned that tip in one of Vonnas finishing videos!
Awe, your grandmas picture quilt is precious. Thank you for sharing you had amazing talent even back then. ❤️Diana
Thank you so much!

I would love to know how to start a cross stitch in the corner instead of the center. How do you determine how far in to start?
I like a 2 inch margin on my stitched pieces so if I'm starting in the right corner I find my 2 inches down and 2 inches in from the right and mark that with a pin, and then count from there to make my first stitch, if it's something with a straight border, no counting required, but if its a little motif I'll count over to it from my margin pin and start!
Can you tell me what type of glue you use in your finishing? I noticed it is a gold bottle but couldn't tell what brand or type. Thx
Sure, I use Aleen's Tacky Glue for all of my finishing! You can get it at any craft store or on amazon!
