    The late inning almost HR by the Rays was not a home run. The reasoning is it hit the wall, then the ground, then the player and then into the stands. For it to be called a homerun it would have had to NOT hit the ground after hitting the wall. Since it hit the ground before going over the wall that's a ground rule double. The ball touched the field before it left the field.

      I hope the Red Sox infield improve and complete easy outs with no problems, if they want to play the World Series.
      The error when the 1B throw the ball to the pitcher for an easy out and the error in putting out Arozarena when he was trapped between 2B and 3B are not the kind of errors that fans expect in playoffs series.
      Boston also needed so many hits to win the game only for a walk-off homer. It seems that is more difficult for the Red Sox to score one run than it is for the Rays.
      So, I hope Red Sox players do not celebrate in advance and play better defensively and offensively tomorrow and send Tampa Bay to take vacation.

    Just when you thought you’ve seen it all in baseball. Has anybody else ever seen what happened in the 🔝 of the 13th inning where the baseball bounced off the outfield wall, hit another player on the field, and bounce back out for a ground rule double. Is this the right call?

    • @johnathanpatrick6118
      @johnathanpatrick6118 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I haven't seen anything like that. But it's in the rulebook; if a batted baseball hits the outfield wall and stays in play, then hits a player and bounces over the wall, it's a ground rule double. Call on the field was right. That could potentially end the Rays' season if Boston gets that last win this series.
