Amazon shipped it to you without a shipping box and this is somehow Corsair's fault? This damage is from being tossed around like a football by Amazon.
true but 50/50 nearly all rm1000x v2024 i have received including replacement, if you go and smell the fan areas and pcie connection areas it smells bad it like being on a farm where it smells like horse manure or urine piss smells its distgusting, i dont know what they have being doing in the corsair factory in china, out of other psu tested different manufacture only corsair smells. if you go to their customer support they say the smell are normal, i sent them an email what do you people do urinate in the components so it corrodes aways so customer come back for repair thats why you offer 10 year warranty on it? thats the impression its giving to customers hence the name RMA repair, RMA1000x makes customers think.
@techtester-b5y Unfortunately, the smell is from the new environmentally safe chemicals we have to use to clean the PCBs. You're going to be smelling that a lot more often than you're used to. Not everyone uses it because it's more expensive, but with Corsair being an American, publicly trade company, there's a big ESG kick. So all chemicals used need to be organic or at least water soluble, less plastic, less spot gloss and varnish, etc.
@@jonnyGURU whell if thats corsairs state i will have to use Isopropyl Alcohol 1L - 1L Spray of 99.9% IPA Disinfectant & Sanitiser and usie ladies blusher brush open it up to clean it, i will make a video on youtube step by step if it helps anyone else with same problem. you dont buy a brand new car that stinks. no one does.
@@jonnyGURU maybe if they invested in better perfumed chemicals on corsair rm1000x they would get more and better sales rather than compleaints and returns. im thinking of sending the none used producs back as smelly not fit for human health and change to different manufactures suppliers of PSU.
@techtester-b5y Yes. An IPA wipe down after the cleaner can minimize smell. But only after you actually run the product for some time will the smell be completely gone. Even after an 8 hour burn in, the product can still smell.
