I have just come across this blog for the first time, and I appreciate your talk. I am Mubembe. I visited back home after getting married, I was shocked to see how our Babembe men give first priority to their relatives than their wives. I wished Babembe young men would be taught what it means to get married and the place that one's wife should take into their lives. My wife, my first priority. God first, my wife second and then my relatives will come. Keep the conversation on.
We're all responsible for what's happening in our community. Us ba Bondo, need to come together and educate our young men and women as to what our traditions are and have been. We can't change our traditions just for the simple fact that we are in the USA. Yes, we can integrate with the new customs, but we can't give up our own.
I don’t speak this language but I understand it , I salut her mind if African women would stand on like this we can do much in this country and do more in our own .❤️
Thank you, ladies, for sharing your insights on marriage issues within our community. It's crucial for parents to instill in both their sons and daughters an understanding of their gender roles before marriage. Men should embrace their roles as providers, leaders, and protectors, while women should recognize their roles as homemakers and nurturers. Problems arise when individuals enter marriage without grasping these responsibilities. Taking the time to truly know a partner before marriage is essential. We all play a role in selecting the right partner and being prepared for the commitments that marriage entails.
