- We got our hands on the latest entry level automatic hatch backs and decided to pit them against each other. Renault recently launched the Kwid 1.0 with an AMT variant while Maruti had their AGS tech on the Alto K10. Both automatics are qite good. In this video we evaluated both in terms of Design, style, performance, features and price.

a really superb review ... impressed with the effort taken on giving out lot of details which a customer would look before buying a first car ... my suggestion is could have added milage comparison, ac cooling, noise and vibration s ... but once again great job looking forward for more vids... ur review made me subscribe ur channel :-)

I driven both cars. And i felt Alto k10 gives more better riding experience. So i just bought it to my garage. Kwid offers more first in class features. But Alto get more good quality materials in it and feel more stable in the road, i felt the kwid is tempting more to rolling the body for small steering turns. Finally i think suzuki is best with wide service network and more value than Renault.

but I have a alto k10 of manual transmission in that I have a que in that it is little bit of vibration when I am initially start driving the vehicle in first gear by the power from only the clutch so tell me sir that it is right or wrong

Nice comparative review. The heart of the AMT vehicle is its AMT or AGS system and in this aspect I think alto k 10 is winner.
Without the creep function how is it possible to control Kwid in bumper to Bumper traffic or parallel parking in Reverse?

Informative impartial comparison of the vehicles. Got to see your video once I did test drive of both the vehicles. I would say this video gives the same experience as that of a test drive and in detailed way. Alto K10 scores more in the inclined(hilly) roads of my city and for that reason opting Alto over Kwid. Kwid stands out interms of design and features

I thought it was a little too biased towards Maruti.
Places like bootspace, infotainment system, ground clearance, looks etc kwid is a clear winner, but to me it seemed that it was spoken very conservatively for the kwid.

Kwid does not have the expected mileage of 24 km /L. While the Alto has better fuel efficiency.

Alto k10 VXI or tiago XZ, or Ford figo aspire TDCI, or swift VXI, brio, grand i10 (need abs, EBD, dual Airbags, fog lamps, mileage should be more than 18kmpl, built quality) and service should be hassle free. Which is the best one?

The way i see in refinement and maintainance alto k10 is good . where as in looks , steering wheel handling kwid is good .
Nice, exhaustive review and comparison of the two cars. Both of the cars are good but design wise Kwid has the edge, giving it a younger kind of look compared to Alto's mature look. Wider wheelbase means better stability on road and the boot space is just amazing!

very nice and elaborative review. My brother just bought the Kwid AMT and its really fantastic. The gear shifts are just mind blowing. I would say it is better than the duster since there you can actually feel the gear shifts more. In the Kwid you hardly get to hear or feel the shifts. Yes but you are very light footed, then you do feel the shift but its pretty normal, since even in a manual you feel shifts.
I feel a manual mode is not required for a person who needs an AMT unless u are a car enthusiastic. If you want a faster pickup and a need a little more power for overtaking. then you just need to press the accelerator a little more and you will see the car downshift and hit the torque.

Imran Khan Both vehicles are good.Alto is more mature and established than kwid,and K10 series engine is superbly refined and have a good mid range performance,Kwid only be better in suspension setup and bit more cabin space,although its plastic feels cheap than the K10,Go for the style you like both are good.

My poll will be for Kwid! Check out its price yaar! They are selling features-loaded car at a such low price. And on top of everything, you can't turn your eye when kwid comes in your sight, it has a precise suv like design that's makes it a bold standout car in its segment.

A humble request from my side . When u r going to show the back seat leg room and head room. Put the driver seat at your position and move out from driver seat to back seat and then describe. Rather than pushing upfront the driver seat and then later describing tge back seat. Plz do next time

That was a great review of both vehicle... i would prefer alto k10 as it has very vast service network... just one thing i want to know, will Alto K10 AGS maintenance will cost me more than a manual transmission??
Hell Ooo renault is also desperately trying to increase it service network by the end of this year they want to reach thier target of 270 service stations and anyways you dont need to service your car everyday and whenever you do the service stations are available.be it any company.

Renault kwid is good given its swiftness, looks and bootspace but the spare parts are comparatively costlier than Maruti Suzuki cars. Improvement can be done to increase the capacity of fuel tank. Overall it is great to drive and own a Kwid.

I test drove both the k10 and kwid. i like the interior of kwid, but kwid failed at two major points which simply rain washes its looks and other feature.
1. non-availability of manual transmission if driver needs extra power during uphill.
2. when you put kwid on drive, the you have use accelerator to move the car forward once you release the brakes where as in alto k10 you release the breaks and car moves ahead.

very well done comparison of both cars ,which one is good for hilly area kwid or alto amt?
both are quite good, however wehave not really got an opportunity to drive these up inclines. But we feel they both will be at par in the hills.
K10 manual is good at hills even on rough roads. In my view no need of auto shift its manual itself a funny car with very sweet clutch and gear.
Alto is much better than kwid, they are making public fool, base is about 270000 but when you will go for buying this, base model will cost 310000 with complete documents including r.c.
And base model dont have a.c., no power window, no power stearing,no music system, black bumpers, and when u will need all these things kwid will touch 4 lakh in 800cc version, and 1000cc version will cost more,
But in case of alto k10 in rs 395000 you will get everything you need like 1000cc engine,a.c, power stearing, power window, music system,68bhp,mileage more than kwid. And in this price r.c. & insurance is also included

I have driven car at speed of 140kmph mostly and in city k10 gives me a mileage of 15kmpl on highway it 20 to 21 with ac on at speed of 80 to 100kmph and above that speed i am getting 18 to19 kmpl on highway

Rajesh Tiwari you should drive both before chosing. Our choice is the Alto it feels more solid and better built than the Kwid.
I had a test drive of both the cars. Kwid only has good exterior look and a touch screen infotainment is good and nothing elsa..cheap plastic inside..doesnt giv a cosy look..and yess the car vibrates at high speed..
And after driving k10..it feels really gud..it gives a cozy feel inside..everything is perfect.
So i trust Maruti n m buying k10
In this video, Kwid 1.0 AMT scores more over Alto K10, but can only be justified after a trial. There is an important factor of resale value, where Alto K10 may score more being Maruti, but no mention of that factor here.

Yes you most definitely can but safety can be an issue if it is not fitted properly.

All sub 10 lakhs priced in India suffer from one common problem .i.e. lack of legroom for the rear seats. All brands focus on the front seats comforts overlooking the comfort of rear seat passengers . Rear seats should be adjustable like the front seats i.e. to able to pushed back when needed. 90% of the times we use cars just to make short trips to visit family friends or to watch a movie with family members. We seldom need the boot in daily use but there that boot takes up a permanent space. It is like a thick bezels of a smartphone . Once in a while we need that and on those occasions we can do with little less space also. Most of the time boot goes empty and rear seat passengers suffer a lot due to lack of legroom. Car companies can do well to make the rear seat adjustable so that if required the rear seats can be pushed back 8 to 10 inches and make rear seat passengers happy. A little less boot space does not matter. Anyways, choice should be left with the customers whether to enjoy legroom or bootspace .

Liked the video a lot, but please remember this is the smart phone age and we are really running short of time. You need to cut it and make is shorter. Brevity is the name of the game. Otherwise, I admire your passion and honesty. Most important, Motown India channel has really upped its quality and content in the last one year. Good job!
Remember what happened to Chevrolet. So it's always better to go for a well established, reliable brand. So i prefer K10.
The new Alto K10 is no match to the Kwid, be it in terms of size, performance, comfort, safety or features. The Alto's back seat is terribly crammed, and Maruti has tried to offer space by scooping out the backs of the front seats as a consolation. In fact, the older Alto range was far more reasonable than the current one. It's obvious that Maruti is bullish on going up the segment ladder, from being a mere cheap small car manufacturer, and hence, hasn't paid much need to improving the Alto. Lastly, the Alto seems to have undergone more cost-cutting than its SUV-inspired competitor. What's better- a dated small utility hatchback or an affordable A segment crossover?
