Mark Is a natural teacher; he's clear, concise, confident and communicates in a way that actually encourages the student to 'go for it'...mistakes and all
I never said this but thank you Mark! When I decided to take my bass playing more serious I found you on TH-cam about 7 years ago. At that time I had lost my job and I was jobless for 10 months. I watched all your videos for hours daily. If I didn’t understand something I would go do research and come back and watch the same video til I understood the concept. I did this for 10 months. My playing took off and I became a more solid, confident bass player. I still got a long way to go but your videos solidified me. Thank you very much! I often go on your channel and it takes me back to those days were I was jobless but your content help me in someway. 😊
Thanks again Mark for your free and paid stuff ! I bought the Groove trainer course a few month ago, and I'm really happy with it : very detailed course with video, mp3 backtrack, one theorytical part and a lot of groove to practice ! Tumbs up for you Mark 😊
Uploading these from the premium courses is a great idea, definitely let's see you see the quality of the content. I'll be definitely be sign up for the "simple steps to sight reading" when I have the money. This was incredibly useful.
As you went through each example, I heard songs in my head which made it really easy to follow along, thanks Mark! With so many online teachers, I had found it difficult choosing one, but that settled it for me.
i got much of this lesson but i dont know the notes on the staff can you make a video on that? i love your videos and you have taught me alot thank you
Mark makes a comment about the disconnect where the foot taps on the rest - I find that performing the mute action on the rest reconnects my hands to the timing, and keeps me in sync. However, I'm a beginning bass player, and perhaps this is a bad habit - comments?
Sorry, but I am not keen on 1/16, 1/4 notes etc, I prefer quavers, minims & crotchet etc. this is where music came from, but keep these videos coming, very useful for me
That’s obviously my background but 80% of the viewers are American so 16th notes it is. Plus it’s actually a better way of describing the subdivisions. It relates to time signatures much better.

You’re the best Mark you’ve helped me become a better bass player and have confidence in myself so much. 🤘🏽❤️
Another great lesson from - according to me - the best teacher... Congrats Mark !
Mark, this is excellent. I have been looking for something like this. I will plug these into Guitar Pro so I can loop and practice these.

Very helpful!
Gracias genio 👍🏼
Great! Thanks. Tapping my foot, counting the rhythm and playing drives me mad... 🙂
Thx 🙏🏻 🤙🏻

Hi Mark, great video again. Perhaps make one using the metric system next time.
No free material link today, guys.
The course is free (as I referenced at the start). Just sign in as usual and it’s there in the My Courses page.
I am so confused now :(
