Really nice review Drew. For me that is a very hard question. When it comes to beer, I have not found just 1 that I could drink forever and be perfectly happy. There are, for me, too many great beers. I can't ever pick a stout over a porter over an IPA. Concerning whisk(e)y I have not found just 1. There are maybe 6 or so that I replace when I finish a bottle. I, like you, am still enjoying new whisk(e)ys. In part because I have only been trying whisk(e)ys for 18 months compared to 45 plus years sampling beer. And I think there are many more breweries compared to distilleries. Cheers!
Thanks Jim, that shift from beer to whisky had been an interesting one for me. I'm happy I've made the switch, but it does feel nice to go back to a beer once in a while. Perhaps the move to one beer was my way of saying to myself, it's time to find something new to experiment with.
Been drinking Laphroaig 10 and extensions for 5 years. Strange thing I notice bottle variation over those 5 years from different batches, some I definitely like better than others and very noticeable to my palate. I was a wine taster for many years, then turned to spirits from all over the world. Still one of my favorites.

I definitely get that in the Cask Strength. I took a long time between bottles with the regular 10. I'll be paying attention.
Yes huge batch variation.
