Being a diehard 6ers dan, I hated Bird with a passion. But I have zero doubt he would dominate in today’s game. He had a unique game with the ability to get his shot off against anyone. He boxed out ferociously and was one of the better help defenders of his era. He could dribble like a guard and shoot like a Curry. And his confidence was Jordanesque.

Bird were a 3 or 4 playing 1-2 movements before making shots or passes while magic is more supporting minded .luka did a lot post up move and ask for screen and mismatch and I don’t really see those in magic or bird game either . The number 33 has shown up a lot this series. Luka has finished a few games with 33 points. Even a game where he played 33 minutes and made 33 points. I think their recent victory was a 33 point victory. Larry Bird wore 33 and if you know anything about that number then you know it's their mark. This could def mean a repeat or him actually going against Larry Bird's old team the Celtics. This Mavs team has shown a lot of similarities to the 2011 which went against the Miami heat. This would mark their third time meeting up in the finals if the Heat do make it. Lots of 3's.

If you take into consideration what they lost during the draft and compound that with all the injuries they suffered. they pushed arguably the best Laker team of the '80s to six games and we're one miss shot away from changing the series.

Hey, the refrigerator hasn't undergone adversity, appears at season starts very overweight, doesn't know how to lead his team but knows how to iso well, has team mates or coaches he visibly dislikes disappear, has a huge ego...Bird was a true Great from the very beginning. Let the kid who doubles as a refrigerator pass through maybe 5 more years. Either he'll morph into a Great & true leader or he'll be another Westbrook or Harden: all stats nothing else.

So..... I was sooooo interested in this topic that I went back and watched the video myself.....and TBH..... Salley isn't really lying!!! Dennis's leg got caught in Bird's right shoulder, and at the hat exact same time.... Bill swung his left hand out to block the shot and when he extended his arm, it went right over where Dennis's leg was at... And since rodman was already falling, he brought everyone down with him, it just looks like a cheap shot because he swung his right arm around as well not knowing he was about to go to the floor.... Bad luck if you ask me🧙🏿‍♂️

I was trying to think of the other person aside from Bird who Luka reminds me of. I think Bird+Kobe= Luka. There, I said it. Big Bird fan, never was a Kobe fan until after he passed and I saw more about 'Mamba mentality.' Luka is between Bird and Kobe in athleticism, can rebound and shoot like both, has the cold blooded killer of both and can create space like both. So thankful he slipped to Dallas in the draft. Go Mavs!!

This is how it goes. He is gonna be put in the conversations later if he is better then Jordan. He is so young and he is already there with Bird in sense of scoring and just movement (Luka definitely slower) how they handled opponents..Future is bright for that kid
