I feel pairing this with Mexican independence day has lessened my hype for this. Why are we going to be celebrating boxers and canelo at an mma event? This should have been about making a huge spectacle out of mma and the ufc, with big names and fights on the card while using the sphere to show off the entire sport worldwide, not just mexico. Love some mexican fighters and boxers over the years, but this is an mma event in the United States, it just seems strange to me.

There are so many unknown fighters in the UFC now. UFC needs to do a Tuesday night fights with unranked fighters trying to get ranked. They could do it when the contender series is not going. They could do it at their own facility with little cost. Put cameras in their training camps and do a back story before each fight telling who they are and how their training camp went. They could do like 3 fights with young prospects and 1 with aging vets trying to get a W.
