When I started getting into anime about 4 - 5 years ago I came across this anime on the kissanime website and this became one of the few old anime shows I really liked and I even got this series on DVD. I was disappointed to find out that this show didn't continue after the OVAs back in 2004 and really wished they kept this show going. I'm hoping someday this show will get another season or even a reboot, But for now I will continue to rewatch the show from time to time and read fanfics of it.
I watched many yaoi like Junjou, Sekaiichi, Okane and other stuff.. I don't know why i forgot to watch this anime.. Maybe because it's not too much yaoi but historical and supernatural.. But after all these years laters when i watched i wished to not watched.. Everything about this story made me very sad... first of all, this anime's OST is really depressed.. Ougi's memories and darkness was so scary and sorrowful.. Also seeing Naoe how much suffers about his love was another sorrow... There were normal anime moments yet i always felt something is aching inside.. Seeing all characters are actually in pain and have weakness inside.. Watching this anime was really painful. I still feel bitter about it.. But i won't deny.. This anime will be always remain in my memo.. (sorry for long talk...)
The ova itself does not have high quality compare to the novel, but the voice acting and the music.... especially this one with the beautiful ending of Takaya riding by the sea......I am grateful I didn't miss Mirage of Blaze. This music tells so much about Mirage of Blaze, a hometown Takaya can never return to, the normal love and relationship that Naoe can never get, the victory and grief that the dead still struggling for....This piece is the summary of the whole plot to me, the shadows from Sengoku, the echoes and remains far from the past....😢😢😢

This novel will always remain top on my heart. The novel ending is sad, story composition is really amazing oh my feelings.
