Welcome to Aussie land 👍 we just went through the same journey moving back to Australia from Canada. We made a 14 day video guide of what to really expect in mandatory hotel quarantine in Sydney 🙈 hoping to help people to be a bit more prepared than we were 😁

Hi. thanks for the vid. i have to stay in hotel for 2weeks for quarantine when i arrive in Sydney. i am concerned about the safty though as i never eat anything except what i cook at home...i never met people anymore.. ive heard some news about some workers who work for those quarantine hotel was infected by covid.. i am not sure how i can trust the food they bring me and the safty of the hotel...since the covid virus can be transfered through the airconditioner and the bathroom ventilator...i knw Australia is safe place but i am worried about hotels..

I had one in HongKong 8 months ago, and will have to do another one in Sydney next week. I am really not looking forward for this. I am starting to be panic now. Hope I will survive eventually.

Hi! I was fine after leaving quarantine. It was a bit of a shock going back into the world but a big relief. Hope it goes well for you!

Just wondering if staying at Marriott, will that possible be count as your Marriott Bonvoy nights?

Hi Eric, sorry I'm not sure about that. You'd have to ask the hotel.

    Hi. Brilliant video. Very helpful.
    Did you arrive vaccinated .
I have a sponsored job up in the northern territory.
Should I wait until I am vaccinated. I am coming from Ireland. Thank You.

Hi Trevor, thanks! I arrived in July 2020, so well before the vaccinations started. I don't think there are any rules yet on needing to be vaccinated before arriving, but check the Australian government website in case things change. Obviously you might feel safer travelling and going into the quarantine hotels if you've been vaccinated though. Best of luck.

@@dreamingofdownunder you got lucky. Was that for even tourists?

    • @dreamingofdownunder
      @dreamingofdownunder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@glennoc8585 yes, I got in just before they started charging. Only citizens and residents have been allowed in since they shut the borders last year, so tourists can't enter the country.

I’m on my 4th day now. If you’d like an honest tip from me.
    Don’t do it.
    Really.
She got a nice room. Out of my window all I can see is the other end of the building and other residents.
Wait Covid out until this ends.
It’s in humane to keep someone locked in a room alone for 14 days.
