So I have never been to Melbourne, but I just visited Brisbane to see family and activate my permanent residency visa and I absolutely fell in love with the place! One phrase that comes to my mind is "good vibes" - just so chilled and laid back!

I’ve lived in Melbourne most of my life and I have to admit that it’s just too big and the infrastructure hasn’t kept up with the larger population. My children had the best Education, all University graduates, but even then it’s virtually impossible to buy a decent house , as interest rates have increased and banks won’t lend enough to buy. The rental market is so competitive that people are prepared to pay higher that the advertised rent. The roads are always BUSY and full of potholes, so you try to catch a train but they have been replaced by buses from the constant upgrading of the train lines for the last 10 years.

30-45 mins out of Brisbane to the Gold coast or bribie island, which is a bonus if you want beaches.

When mentioning how Melbourne has great local beaches and Brisbane you need to drive 1.5 hours north to the Sunshine Coast or 1.5 hours south to the Gold Coast or 1 hour boat ride to Moreton or Stradbroke Islands. Correct Melbourne does have some beautiful beaches but you didn't mention water temperatures. Queensland's winter water temperature is warmer than Melbourne's summer water temperature. Fine if you just want to go to the beach and sit and look but go for a swim (even in summer) and it's an instant headache (brain freeze) when you dive in. Just saying it's a very important fact you failed to mention. We are now in winter, today has not a cloud in the sky, Max 23° and stays like that all day (not 4 seasons in one day) I think Melbourne also has more days above 40° , I can't remember the last time we reached that temperature however I admit the summer just finished had exceptionally bad humidity compared to previous years.

Blown away by the comparison of sunny days. Melbourne almost seems like it has a similar climate to a city like Auckland Nz than an Australian city.

As a Melbournian born and raised, I would never move to Brisbane, I hate the humidity and all that. I prefer Melbourne and wouldn't really move anywhere else in Australia. Shame things are getting quite pricey though.

Something about this video has triggered a lot of right-wing conservatives. Given most of Australia seems to have voted the same way at state and federal level in recent years, I'm not too sure what politics has to do with a comparison video between two Australian cities.
Also as a side note both Melbourne and Brisbane are amazing places in their own right.

    Bris-Bane: hot
Humid. Dry ( ironically). No natural beaches.
Melbourne: Cold, wet, hot, windy, wet, cold, hot, cold, wet, windy. Then you go for lunch
Lol. Both, unfortunately are still great WONDERFUL cities. Neither has the beaches of Perth. Lots of Queenslanders in Brisbane. Dirty narrow river. Melbourne is BIG. Diverse. Lots to see, do. Eat. (Coffee). Trams
    Wide streets.
I flew back into Brisbane after 3 weeks in Perth. To my HORROR !!! .. it felt like "coming home" .. which is why I knew I had to go home to Perth. And family. And familiarity.
    ALL AUSTRALIAN MAJOR CITIES
And prob. less major ones .. are great & wonderful. Easy to like 'em all. Each has its attraction. If you immerse in the local. (But a man NEEDS a good close beach .. which is why I live in Perth .. AND a WIDE CLEAN BLUE RIVER!

Beach in Melbourne? That doesn't sound right :D The general tone of the video is promoting Melbourne anyway and looks like she doesn't know much about Brisbane.

I like how you show a little rain fall when describing Melbourne's weather and than you said Brisbane gets flooding .. but it's funny you didn't show How Bad The Flooding can Get in Brisbane...😂😂 that mite help people's decision, because I know a few people that lost so much stuff in multiple floods and Brisbane. Just saying people NEED TO KNOW HOW BAD THE FLOODING GETS IN BRISBANE

Disagree. The weather in Brisbane is terrible. Far too humid and too many storms. Melbourne is much more pleasant.

Sorry, but Melbourne after last 3 years is state not to be! The future doesn't look promising in Melbourne with the woke city council I have enough of Melbourne, leaving for good after 17 years this December! Generally Victoria is heading same path like California! Melbourne has Danny curst! As my friend said the most beautiful Melbourne view is in your back car mirror when you leave this city! When I came to Melbourne, they called this city, the most European city in AU, today you can call it the most Indian city in AU!
