9:18 The United States bought the Philippines from Spain for $20 million (Treaty of Paris). Ironically, NO Filipino representatives were granted participation during the negotiation. so sad to think about the war negotiations during those times.

Why would there be Filipino representatives? As far as both the US and Spain were concerned, the Philippines was still under Spanish rule. The Philippines' independence was not recognized by either country at the time.

An honest take, Manila is rarely visited by foreigners you only get to see plenty of foreigners in Cebu, Palawan, Siargao and in tiny Boracay. Those places do not care at all, opposite of what you think about Manila. Been to Manila, they care more about what foreigners think but if you go to Cebu for example, Cebuanos are used to foreigners that they do not care at all.

3:50 I'm guessing the answer is no, because some of the islands here disappear at high tide and reappear at low tide (so the number of islands also varies throughout the day lol).
Edit: Some islands cannot be easily accessed even by boat. You have to wait for the high tide to go to and from. These are areas considered geographically-disadvantaged because they have poor access to higher level healthcare.

Adobo is pronounced the same, whether spanish, mexican or filipino. The narrator did not do research on the pronunciation, he basically anglicized it with the short A vowel sound, heh. However, yes, the flavor profiles are different.

    Some nitpicks:
"Baranggay" is pronounced /ba-rang-gai/, not /ba-rang-gei/ as the narrator put it.
    "Islas" is pronounced /is-las/.
"Aguinaldo" in the Philippines is pronounced without the "u".
"Cordillera" in the Philippines is pronounced /cor-dil-yeh-ra/.
"Waray" is pronounced /wa-rai/, not /wa-rei/.
"Conyo" is not a real language. It is an insult towards rich kids who mostly speak English than Filipino.
The narrator said "adobo" wrong. It should be exactly the same as Mexican adobo.
"Princess" is also legitimate name for a girl here. haha

53:13 Annulment is essentially declaring the marriage null and void. By virtue of it being an invalid contract, it would be as if you never got married. It's very expensive and is actually not a feasible option for majority of Filipinos. People just separate from their spouses and live with their new partners (if they have one) without ever marrying again (because they legally can't).

Give me 21 years of unchecked presidency, and I will build more infrastructure than all your presidents combined. It's easy. All you have to do is borrow all the money for it, claim all the credit as if you paid for it, and then let three generations pay the debt with massive interest. When my successors can't build anything because they have to pay off my gigantic debt, you will hate them and remember me as the best president ever.

Sorry but the Supreme Court already decided his case after more than 30 years..in fact, just last year..there was no ill-gotten wealth due to lack of substantial evidence..imagine submitting an evidence with no original copies and no strong evidence to back it up probably just to mar the image of the family, i wonder why the courts didnt reject it first hand..Juan Ponce Enrile also narrated every thing that transpired during and after Marcos Sr. Presidency because he literally became the "Messenger" of both Marcos Sr. And Mrs. Aquino..so far the Aquino family never contested what he said even in public..the Aquinos never even opened and really did an effort to really find the mastermind in murdering Ninoy Aquino in Tarmac even if the wife and son became Presidents of this country..they only blamed Marcos but never proved it..they just twisted alot stories to make Filipinos hate Marcos Family..But we see now that their narratives before are no longer being bought by alot of Filipinos and now we know which of these Political Families are nationalistic and has love for country and countrymen.

Nope they're not being fooled..they are just telling the truth..😂 search the youtube its in the news last years i think.. the Supreme Court decĺared Marcos Sr. Has no ill-gotten wealth finally after more than 30 years delay..imagine his opponents submitting photocopy of documents with no strong evidence..it shouldve been rejected first hand..took 3 decades of this kind of false accusations to mislead and make alot of Filipinos hate the Marcoses only to find out they meant well for the country..what a waste..look up also Juan Ponce Enrile's narration of what transpired during Marcos Regime and EDSA Revolution..also the Failures of 2 Aquino's Presidencies including the murder of Ninoy Aquino that they never put to justice, only to blame Marcos Sr. For it but never proved..Also, Mrs. Aquino never won an election, they just said she was cheated then executed EDSA revolution to bring Marcos down and she became the President but never did the Filipinos justice..instead, Philippines went down down down.

Spider fighting was very well known during the 90's and/or early. I was lucky to have experience this as a kid in the 90's. We normally find and capture fighting spiders at night using a flashlight to spot them as their web is reflective with light.

Marcos Sr. is still the best president the Philippines ever had. Marcos Jr. could still tie with that distinction. The Aquinos and the Dilawan Party succeeded in ruining the Marcos name for some time. But eventually they proved themselves as fake and no sincerety in making the Philippines better than during the Marcos era. All bad things hurled against the Marcoses are now proven false, as all criminal cases filed against them here and abroad were won by them for lack of evidence.

Spanish colonization only starts in 1565 when Spanish Conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legazpi who established Spanish permanent settlement in Cebu. Portugueze Explorer in the service of Spain Ferdinand Magellan merely rediscovered the country that had been long had trade and commercial ties with China in 11th century, it's neighboring Malay Kingdoms of what is now Malaysia, Borneo, Indonesia and as far as the the middle east countries by Arab traders who came to the southern part and brought the first organized religion-Islam. The term "discovery" by Magellan in history books is erroneous. The whole archipelago had been existent already since the 12th century. The whole of southeast asian countries the Portugueze and Spanish called as the Spice Islands, or the Moluccas Islands, are part of two Indian Empires, the Majapahit and Siri Vijaya Empires in the 12th and 14th centuries.

During the time of Marcos, there are good contributes in the country and there are bad. The country was not perfect but during his time, Philippines was the 2nd wealthiest nation in ASIA. Japanese came over the Philippines to work because of the booming economy of the country. The poor people got a sack of rice every month. The poor people can live during that time. The country was developed during his time because of many projects that he implemented for the good of the nation. There are lots of foreign investors invested in the country during his time. I think the bad thing that he did was implementing the Martial Law and he wanted a long term in the government which is wrong.

Guys, just wanted to add that 1. according to a heavily researched fact by the “The God Culture channel”, the Ancient name of the Philippines was “Ophir”. Although it is said that Magellan “Discovered the Philippines”, this channel also has a topic on how, King Solomon in the Bible would send his ships to the Philippines and back, every 3 years to trade and in fact, the gold and Almug(Narra) wood that were used to construct Solomon’s temple were from the Philippines. 2. That due to colonization and hundreds of years of migration, there is no “typical Filipino looking person”, coz the Filipino is heavily interracially mixed. A few examples are the African American Filipino Cam Bynum of the NFL, Greek Filipino American Dave(Drax the Destroyer), MalayFilipino American Actor Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds in “Spiderman No Way Home”), Irish Filipino American Filipino multi awarded singer actress Olivia Rodrigo(Song among others:Drivers License), Hispanic Filipino American multiple Grammy Awarded Singer Bruno Mars, English Spanish Filipino American Emmy and Golden Globes acting awarded Darren Criss “ The Assasination of Gianni Versace”.

Yea. The Pepsi thing is BS. We still got the cap until now. My family was one of the people who rallied outside pepsi's gate. And for annulment? Whatever is yours, is yours. The only thing you're fighting is if you guys have a child or children or the court decided that you have to send money for your child. Something like that. Unless you guys signed anything before marrying.

America is the one who educate the Pilipino people, unlike the connivance of Spanish and Chinese who are occupied the Philippine, and land grabbed the native pilipino land in entire Philippine archipelago,(1594/the construction of china town and the walled city of intramuros) these the reasons, Chinese and spanish become the wealthiest family in Philippines.

95% about Marcos are false. As a matter of fact if Marcos stayed for about 10 to 15 more years Philippines would have been the richest country in Asia. Or as George Bush Jr. said the richest country in the world is Philippines. And he said it without stuttering. If you just dig a bit deeper you’ll know how they did the Marcoses dirty, I’m talking about a lot of politicians.

The video is westernized version and the visuals didn’t help, the pronunciation of things is so off that they should not be making “facts” that are half true. Some “facts” are outdated.
