I now use Octopus Write & Draw ink Black Elephant as a waterproof permanent ink for writing on envelopes. It performs very good, basicly the same as the De Atramentis ink, I think, but when I do run out of black ink, the De Atramentis black ink will be on top of my list, based on your findings. Thanks!
I‘m really enjoying Rohrer & Klinger SketchInks - they‘re well-behaved, come in 10 colors and work well in fountain pens. I have Lilly in a 0.3 mm Platinum Preppy and have no issues. I eyedroppered the pen. I would be sure to use a pen with a very good sealing cap though because you don’t want the ink drying out in your pen/nib. Preppies are excellent for waterproof inks. Octopus Drawing inks are also fountain pen friendly and come in a large variety of colors. Thanks for sharing your inks!
Have you ever used the De Atramentis ink either brown or black with a pointed pen nib, for example a Nikko G and if so what type of paper have you used it on and what were your results in terms of flow, feathering, maintenance of thin lines and the ability to create swells or shadows in the lettering?
Yes, I have a black de atramentis ink and I usually use it with my Pilot VP fine nib or my Prera, sorry I don't have Nikko G. For paper I mostly use either the tomoe river paper or the traveler's company notebook inserts. It flows smoothly but with a feedback given its a japanese nib. For finer nibs, feathering or ghostings rarely happens. ;)
Birmingham has a water resistant line. Of which the black is water proof and so is a beautiful color called Inland Teal, which is a soft minty color. (That one is 95% waterproof). You can mix their water resistant line for more color options. I’ll have to make a test page for everyone someday!
Howdy! Good job on the video, I've been curious what other people like for water resistant inks. Just wanted to point out that Noodler's Air Corps is NOT claimed to be full waterproof. It's listed as a partial on their website. The blue/green part isn't waterproof, but the black part of the ink seems to be.
I use a lot of waterproof inks (at work). My fav are: Noodler’s Canyon Blue (similar to my fav non water resistant blue, Monteverdi Horizon) Noodler’s La Reine Mauve: it’s aggressive but fast drying and saturated. Lovely color. Noodler’s Dark Matter: not 100% waterproof but good enough. Dr Atramentis Doc Blue Black: not as aggressive as Blue, pretty usable.
Hi, you seem like a nice person, so take my comment as constructive... You must stop agitating things in front of the camera. It started with your hands, then you were shaking the ink bottles you were talking about. Please keep your hand gestures to yourself when in close up, and when you are talking about something, simply point to it. It's very disconcerting and stressful to watch you shake a bottle we are trying to look at... That kind of mannerisms distract from otherwise useful and interesting content.
thanks for the comment! ♥️ will continue to improve my videos and taking note on this comment. hope you have subscribed to my channel to see my progress over time😉
for swatching purposes I always use my kakimori brass nib pen so I don’t need to clean up my fp everytime. I have used these inks with FP and unless its a shimmering inks I have no issues with clogging the tip. this video is about how waterproof these inks are. Thanks for your question, that can be great for another content♥️
Glad to see some options. I’ve always used Noodlers Legal Lapis but I need new inks now.
Great video, love how you did everything on camera. Subscribed !
thanks!
Air Corps blue blue is a beautiful but very wet ink.

You state in your title... FOUNTAIN PEN yet you test with a DIP PEN!!!
Can they be trusted in FOUNTAIN PENS and not clog the tip?
