Gekijoban Zero is one of my favorite horror movies and had an effect on me emotionally that nothing else ever had. Super excited the algorithm came through to serve me a video about it. That is one hell of a special experience. I watched it in a cinema course I took in college and afterwards I walked home in the dark without my headphones in and just thought about it. Luckily I ran into a classmate in the dining hall of my dorm and we went on to spend like 2 hours talking since he was similarly appreciative of it. Ironically I wasn't even sure if I thought the movie was good at that point, I just knew that it hit me hard in a place I'd never felt.
Actually, the live action movie is an adaptation of a Japanese-only novel that actually have the camera obscura fights sprinkled several times, though the movie got those sequences cut out in favor of focusing on its story and themes. Kinda sucks cause that would have been nice to see a ghost story which the hero/heroine fight back against the vengeful spirits who haunt them for once.
Shit, really? I knew it was an adaptation of a book but I just didn't mention it because I hadn't read it so I wouldn't have been able to talk about it. Guess I should've read it then, huh.
Because of you, I got to know the Fatal Frame manga, and just finished I agree with everything that you said about it, it's actually sad because I think the ideas is quite interesting, since we *in a way* have a human antagonist it's kinda refreshing that is trying to do something different. I also really like some characters, like Sara, Ryuuzaki, Jun and Narumi. I think with a smaller cast or at least more volumes to be able to make more slowdown moments and give more time to development would make it perfect. I think the manga is a 7/10 BUT with the art, that is really beautiful in a lot of moments, specially in the ghost and in some moments scary, it goes to a 8/10. I'm just happy that I had more Fatal Frame content lol.
Rather than remaster the original trilogy they should Remake the original three port 2 wii and 4 to North American and finally give us a sequel in the future Good video my man
Nah, leave 2 Wii alone. Despite it being the same gameplay as 4, it somehow plays worse than that. That and the original 2 easily has my favorite gameplay in the entire series with it being based on range rather than charging, which 2 Wii opted to use charging instead.
@@TheKeysmash I think if were to get anything new from the franchise it most likely will be a sequel in the future I dont really see them remastering the original trilogy despite fan demand and if they were to remaster any of them it would pretty much boil down to fatal frame 2 wiimake because that ones pretty polished already just need to touch it up abit unless they can somehow fix the game breaking bugs in 4
I did not know that there was a movie and a manga based on Fatal Frame. Thank you for bringing that up and hope that more games in the series get ported to PC and that one day Folklore gets ported too.
And the movie got a bluray release not too long ago too! What's insane is that I thought this was the only Fatal Frame manga when I learned later that there's a Fatal Frame 3 anthology manga. It's not the easiest to find all of it online.
I really enjoyed your video 🤙🏽 I started reading the manga cuz of your review (the manga gives me homebrew D&D campaign for some reason but I love it 🤣) I wanted to know if you are interested in being interviewed for my podcast as my guest? If you are interested collaborating and being interviewed please let me know 💁🏽♀️ Keep up the amazing content ❤️
Its also weird the setting of the Fatal Frame movie is a Catholic school, that might seem exotic to Japanese viewers but is boring to me, Fatal Frame gamed are always infused with Shinto folklore type stories and inspired by local Japanese traditions, if i wanted to see Catholic themed horror stories there are plenty available in the west to watch. This Fatal Frame movie seems to remove so many key features from the games.

Wait, does the novel have a title?

Keep going, great video
Just found out that fatal frame has a manga and movie thanks to you
The movie bored me to tears, but I loved the manga!
This movie is like Final Fantasy Spirit Within. Not necessarily bad but not good as a part of the brand
I really enjoyed your video 🤙🏽

Really No 5 is not better than 1 and 3 that crazy talk, that game is easily the weakess of the series
I liked 5. That's no diss to 1 or 3, I liked those as well.
