Joe is such a great story, and Megalobox takes the elements of that story, qnd the central twist in the middle of the series just unlocks everything by sort of inverting the premise of the original in ways. It's just such a good adaptation. It's one I always remember to bring up when I think of adaptations that work.

Pocket Mirror is one of the best rpg maker games, too bad it got little to no attention and recognition it deserves p.s. probably the only rpg maker game that fucked me up more than omori did

The theory that the whole one-shot was another movie is even more crazy. Think about it, Eri is exactly the same, we dont see Yuta's dad so maybe "Old Yuta" was his dad but shaved, and we don't see "Old Yuta" Family, not even for a panel. The point that at the end, we can see Yuta and Eri on the same shot, with different angles can be the proof that the real Yuta was recording this scene, and the last part of the story is Yuta's dad and Eri. That Eri wasn't really a vampire, that the whole oneshot was the movie, and it wasn't 2 different ones.

For me personally I will never play these games I don't have the time to do so That's why i like watching others play games or talk about them in a summary matter like u did with this video However one slight problem is u don't talk about the ending:/ Because u expect others to play it after the video (reasonable choice) It would be nice if u did talk about the game fully along yith ur opinion on the ending and just put a spoiler tag so that those who want to play the game can skip that segment

I discovered this game on Halloween last year! And I agree with all you say! I l normally don’t like horror games but this grabbed me! It reminds me of the story, the red shoes. It’s fun, challenging and beautifully animated! And I love your commentary! You’re hilarious!

Wish i saw this video earlier. I desperately want more of the anime as well it had such an incredible atmosphere, but the amount of money required to rotoscope honestly takes some of the sadness away from not getting more cuz a normally animated flowers wouldn't feel good

Minor Correction: As of the release of this video, the Mangagamer website on the Rance series for some reason says it started in 1988. This is contrary to even the Alicesoft logo itself which underlines the company name with "since 1989." This small discrepancy doesn't change the point being made.

PMiSS is so great because it's the first time we really have the worm's-eye view from the perspective of normal humans in Gensoukyo. This is what these characters and places look like when you aren't really powerful enough to fight. I think it was also pretty important in setting a canon for Touhou: in the early Windows Era everything was pretty nebulous, and PMiSS was a (relatively) reliable source for information on people and places and really the dynamics of Gensoukyo. I haven't yet gotten around to all the print works, so maybe there's something in Sangetsusei or the parts of Bohemian Archive I've not yet read, but I'm pretty sure the monologue near the end is the first time we hear about how the balance between youkai and humans works, maybe even that there *is* that sort of balance. I think it's the first time the youkai sages and how Gensoukyo came to be come up too, and that alone must've been massive for fanworks at the time. Speaking of that monologue, it's probably my single favourite piece of writing in all of Touhou Project. It tells us so much about both Gensoukyo and Akyuu in just a couple pages, and it's a thing to behold. I'll spare you the deep analysis because I could spend hours and hours (and have done so) dissecting everything it tells us about how Akyuu sees herself and her lot in life and the world around her and yes this monologue is why she's my favourite. "Once this edition of the Gensokyo Chronicles has finished, I should have as many people read it as possible and ask them if my continued reincarnation is necessary." "I will likely not have much of a chance to experience life as a normal human being." The whole thing about how, now that Gensoukyo's set up in such a way that youkai and humans might be able to get along, she has a chance of having friends who'll still be alive next time she reincarnates. Akyuu very obviously telling herself sweet nothings about how youkai are super chill now! And it's definitely not just because they have to be to survive! Even if the outside world completely collapsed and the youkai took over they'd surely recognize that this is a better state of affairs! She tells herself these things, of course because she needs to believe them to let herself be friends with youkai and thus not constantly horribly lonely after every reincarnation. I'll stop now, but I think that monologue, combined with a lot of little things in Forbidden Scrollery, pretty heavily imply that Akyuu kinda hates being the Child of Miare. I'd also like to mention the "and many other youkai" bit in the colophon implying that Akyuu's feels alienated from humanity, which, combined with **gestures frantically at everything that happens in Forbidden Scrollery** (go read it right now right fucking now), is *_very interesting indeed._* Or maybe I'm just reading into it too much. I'm definitely reading into it too much. -anyway this was my ted talk on why akyuu/kosuzu is the best touhou ship fucking fight me-
