Every video of yours is literally my happy place. Learn a lot from you, which I am grateful for. Have to say, this video with the math and the hand stitching video with the needle size feel like a crochet hook or stabbing a whale summ or other are a cpl of my favorites. Laughs have been had. Cheers from BC Canada 🇨🇦
awwwww 🥰 Thank you!
@SuzyQuilts thank you! Have been scouring your website and all things sewing. Buying my first machine today at 47 years old. Figure it's high time I sew some quilts rather than just design them. I actually have a fabric stash even 😂 So this is all very exciting and you have given me the extra oomph I need! ❤️
@@sarahstewart2059 what an exciting day!!
@@SuzyQuilts it sure is!! I'm going with the Singer Patchwork 7285Q Quilting Machine for a beginner model. Yeehaw!
So helpful! You make these videos so fun 😂❤
Thank you for this video 🫶🏻
Very entertaining video. "Oh, I think I melted it." 😂😂😂 That's one I haven't tried yet! "Measure twice, cut once" has turned into "measure three times" as I age. I recently added the small clear, round silicone stickers to help my rulers not slip. I find that they are really helpful on the big rulers. They add a wee bit too much elevation to the small square ones that I have. I love those woven fabrics. Where do you shop for them? I'm retired and just found your channel today over my coffee. I got a little comment happy; I hope you don't mind. You are a very talented artist and all your hard work shows. May it always bring you joy.
I love comments! Never apologize :) These wovens are made by a company called Fableism and you can usually find them in stock at www.cottoneerfabrics.com/
I wish I had seen this earlier, just cut some 5 inch squares for my first quilt. Wasted so much fabric
That a great excuse to make another quilt ;)
Hi Suzy, newbie here. Don't people use the grid on their mat as one tool for measuring? I think my cutting technique needs help for sure but I've been using that combo. I feel a bit confused.
That is one way, and if you feel comfortable using the grid marks on your mat there's no issue continuing to do so. Unless I am cutting a huge piece of fabric, I like to use the guides on my ruler. I think I get more accurate cuts that way and once you get the technique down, it's faster.
4:17 “Eight and a half plus one and a half is nine and a half” 😳🤔🫣
“Usually my math is wrong first two times”
I agree 👍😜😂
You made me laugh…
Apparently most quilters are math challenged…
Good video.., thank you 🤗
listen again. she gets to 10 a breath later.

I know she had it right at the end… it was just funny to hear her comment after her calculation.
I like all of her videos.. she is a darling.
Ok, I thought it was just me. I was having a little freak out on her behalf.
