I’ve been enjoying Jack the Ripper videos and livestreams you’ve have been doing. They’re great to watch and listen to Ned as there are some interesting books and documentaries out there with information that’s reliable, loaded with errors or perhaps a mixture a both, especially if it’s regarding a particular suspect/person of interest. I hope you’re doing well, keep up the great work and take care!
I do think the killer had to have some understanding of the interior of the human body. Imagine yourself, crouching on the sidewalk in shadowless black night, no illumination, and you have 10 minutes tops to not only have fun slicing up the victim’s face, but go into the abdominal cavity and cut through whatever(remember, you can’t see what you’re doing), to get a kidney out. Seriously, imagine you have to do this. Have you at least located a couple of organs? I bet not. Now, did you feel your way underneath them , locate the kidney and remove it in one clean piece? I really don’t think anyone without anatomical knowledge and considerable experience could even begin to do this and don’t forget, someone could catch you at any moment and you have only a few minutes to do it and leave.
Thank you for doing the research on Cornwell’s writing. Most of us read what gets published but don’t have time for further research. I never got the feeling Sickert was the killer. Even so, there are two details that are striking. First, the fistula he supposedly had, that may have created big unfortunate problems for him and the other, more mysterious fact is the choice of subject matter for his paintings. He did a few titles Home if Jack the Ripper or similar. They were supposed to be in the Tate Museum in London. I went there last year but they were not displayed.
I just watched The Unsolved Crimes of JTR, the one you mentioned. Yes there are a lot of mistakes or at least the statements are at odds with other reports. As per JonBenet Ramsey please list a few films that you think have credibility. Thanks
I think the Ripper case became a source of unprecedented hysteria because it took place in a very overcrowded area yet he couldn’t be identified. Unlike some small rural hamlet in France or Germany where a psychopath was marauding, it was happening in a large civilized city with news media available. Also, it wouldn’t have acquired so much fame if there had been a couple years or more between killings, they would have almost gone unnoticed. But they were just weeks apart. The population in Whitechapel understood that they were very vulnerable.
Thank you for a great discussion, always sparks thoughts
Thanks for reup on this. When I went to rewatch it was gone 😢😢 but now back and 😁😁. Thanks Ned 🙏

Much of what Cornwell writes comes from Stephen Knight. She should give Stephen more credit.

I'd say the Ripper killed Mary Kelly indoors because she was the only one of his victims who lived alone in her own rented house.

I believe it was H. H. Holmes.
Wow. DISNEY presents Jack the Ripper? Disgusting and unbelievable.
