- ðī ROM âMÄnÄstirea Corbii de PiatrÄ este o mÄnÄstire din RomÃĒnia situatÄ ÃŪn satul Jgheaburi, comuna Corbi, (judeČul ArgeČ). MÄnÄstirea este un ansamblu rupestru din secolul XIV, reÃŪnfiinČat ÃŪn anul 1512, ÃŪn perioada domnitorului Neagoe Basarab (1512-1521).
Biserica mÄnÄstirii este sÄpatÄ ÃŪn stÃĒncÄ (gresie). LÃĒngÄ bisericÄ, sÄpat tot ÃŪn stÃĒncÄ, se aflÄ trapeza mÄnÄstirii, sala de mese a mÄnÄstirii, un spaČiu dÄltuit la rÃĒndu-i ÃŪn stÃĒncÄ, despre care tradiČia afirmÄ cÄ a fost folosit de Neagoe Basarab ca tribunal ÃŪn aer liber, pentru a face judecÄČi publice. Este situatÄ la 400 m de centrul comunei Corbi, pe malul stÃĒng al RÃĒului Doamnei(judeČul ArgeČ). AceastÄ localitate este atestatÄ ca fiind locul de baČtinÄ al CorvineČtilor. Ãn prezent ÃŪncÄ se mai pot observa ÃŪn zonÄ ruinele castelului lui Voicu, tatÄl lui Ioan Corvin. Biserica rupestrÄ de la Corbii de PiatrÄ a fost sÄpatÄ ÃŪn peretele masiv de stÃĒncÄ, ÃŪnalt de circa 30 m Či lung de 14,5 m.
Prima atestare documentarÄ este la 23 iunie 1512, dar existÄ informaČii certe conform cÄrora biserica a existat Či ÃŪnainte de aceastÄ datÄ. La 23 iunie 1512, monahia Magdalina - ÃŪn mirenie MuČa, fiicÄ Či soČie de boier, proprietarÄ ereditarÄ a moČiei de la Corbi, (re)ÃŪnfiinČeazÄ MÃĒnÄstirea de la Corbii de PiatrÄ. SfÃĒntul lÄcaČ a primit hramul âAdormirea Maicii Domnuluiâ Či a fost ÃŪnchinatÄ domnitorului Neagoe Basarab. Astfel, locaČul capÄtÄ ÃŪncÄ de la (re)ÃŪnfiinČare statutul de mÄnÄstire domneascÄ.
Ãn 1897, ÃŪn timpul slujbei de Ãnviere, peretele vestic al naosului s-a surpat, nerÄnind pe nimeni. Ãn vara aceluiaČi an, credincioČii au adus niČte meČteri italieni cioplitori ÃŪn piatrÄ de la AlbeČtii de MuČcel pentru a reconstrui peretele surpat. Biserica este deosebit de valoroasÄ, nu numai prin felul ÃŪn care a fost implantatÄ ÃŪn stÃĒncÄ, ci Či prin pictura care o ÃŪmpodobeČte, despre care specialiČtii afirmÄ cÄ este ÃŪn cea mai purÄ tradiČie bizantinÄ, datÃĒnd din secolul al XIV-lea sau chiar mai devreme. SfÃĒntul lÄcaČ era cunoscut ÃŪn vechime Či sub numele de mÄnÄstirea de la MeriČ sau mÄnÄstirea MeriČ.
IniČial, biserica avea 2 altare pe un singur naos, caracteristicÄ prin care biserica rupestrÄ este unicÄ ÃŪn RomÃĒnia.
Posibilitatea avansatÄ de unii cÄ unul dintre altare ar fi fost catolic este purÄ fantezie. Ambele altare au fost ortodoxe fiind realizate ÃŪn cea mai purÄ tradiČie bizantinÄ. De altfel biserica se ÃŪnrudeČte tipologic cu grupul de biserici rupestre din Capadocia, arhitectura bisericuČei derivÃĒnd tipologic din bisericile salÄ, cu douÄ altare, dedicate unui hram dublu, caracteristici ale lumii bizantine din sec. X.
Deasupra peretelui vestic al bisericii rupestre este amplasatÄ o cruce de tip latin cu capitel piramidal detaČabil de la anul 1761. La aproximativ 280 m de bisericÄ se aflÄ piatra Či stÃĒnca haiducului corbean Zdrelea.
Monahia Magdalina, ctitora restauratoare a lÄcaČului de la Corbii de PiatrÄ ca aČezÄmÃĒnt monahal, era mÄtuČa voievodului Neagoe Basarab. AceastÄ legÄturÄ de rudenie face ca sÄ nu mai aparÄ surprinzÄtoare ÃŪnchinarea monastirii, la cÃĒteva luni dupÄ redeschidere, domnitorului Neagoe.
MÄnÄstirea a fost redeschisÄ ÃŪn 2003 iar de atunci se fac slujbe zilnice dupÄ rÃĒnduiala monahalÄ.â

There is something so spiritual and so powerful about this amazing building, this Church and Monastery built in the Rock. The interiors also surprise because of their beauty and because of the Byzantine tradition at work. This places feels like a true relic - what an incredible video!
