Doesn't get much better than his picking and singing. I really like the artwork on his first couple albums.
It seems to me he captured the true spirit of Mississippi John Hurt and assimilated inside himself that spirit. He's not a copy but a great heir of him.

JXR is waaay underrated, imo. Heard his songs one time in a vintage shop and was immediately impressed. Have been a fan ever since.
