So underrated compared to other blues legends. One of my favorite riffs in all of music. Also listen to “Sly and Sleezy” from one of his last albums (late 60s). So ahead of it’s time.

But why... are you so good 🙃 for me you’re are the best current teacher on TH-cam for boogie style. That’s so fun to play. Thanks a lot.
I discover at the same time Magic Sam and that gives me motivation for playing sweet home Chicago too. 👍

Magic Sam has some nasty tone!
    Damn Nasty!
    Thanks for another great lesson.
Lots of nuances you’ve shown us all here 👍
And as you mentioned there are many details shaping the sound and groove of this.
    Thanks Heath!

Great lesson; if you can nail it it's so satisfying to play. By the way if you play with your fingers over the neck pickup like magic sam you get a really authentic tone; using a guitar with humbuckers (in my case mini humbuckers in a 1972 deluxe goltop) really help out.

hey, thanks for all your GREAT lessons. Really enjoy it!
In the main riff here, could you go over the tab where it has the 4thstr 2ndfret E note?
Is it muted, a pull off or what? Hard to hear it being played!
AND, if you just plat the the bass line (0234 then 0434) of that tab… doesn’t sound like what you’re playing.
    That’s my hangup! Thanks!!!

Part of your Var #2 is not correct. The ending riff. The proper riff can be added just a little lower on the neck and using hammer on. It’s easy with just a little practice. Great video and the closest I’ve seen yet to how it is really played. I could have not figured it out otherwise.

I can not for the life of me get used to using a thumb pick it feels so awfully unnatural.

    • @FeedbackGuitarAcademy
      @FeedbackGuitarAcademy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Everyone feels like that at first. Most people quit before it feels comfortable. I tried a bunch of times over 10 years or so and it never felt okay. Until I did this:
      1. Just wear it during the day while you're doing other things, away from your guitar.
      2. Tap it on tables or anything to hear a tap sound.
This will give your brain some feedback on how it feels and itll become an extension of your thumb. Itll feel better in about a week or 2 after doing this daily.

Oh man, fantastic advice thank you. That's actually kinda how I got the triplets down for flamenco playing. I would just practice the motions on my fingers throughout the day
