Look up Gary Gygax, one of the co founders of D&D. Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will are playing AD&D (Advanced Rules) which would later become 2nd Edition so it makes sense that he would be harder on them actually.

rewatching this after finnishing season 4 - honestly the point of duality between the demogorgon heads could be a parallel for vecna and the mind flayer intead. Which would actually make a lot of sense! Especially the thing about them secretly wanting to destroy each other. That could be an epic revelation for season 5. Dude....this is crazy to watch after season 4. Cause matpat points out everything that connects eleven to the Demogorgon, and without realizing it, was connecting both the Demogorgon AND eleven to Vecna. Like...seriously that's nuts. Also when he mentioned that the Demogorgon in earlier concepts was supposed to cause people to "bleed from their nose and ears" when coming into contact with it. This detail ALONE showed just how much this series had been planned ahead. It's just insane.
So I’m watching this now that the first part of season 4 is out and the fact that this theory still holds some merit is cool, as 001 is 011 counterpart and he controls the monsters in the other world, he would have the same powers as 011 as they all get there powers from him.

I can't really put into words what I'm really thinking so it's a bit messy, but I think the Demogorgon goes to Joyce's house because of Will. Seeing as Will was in the shed, right behind the house, it would be natural for him to go back to his house and hide. Will could call through dimensions sometimes but not might be able to hear/be heard because it's across dimensions. As Joyce picks up the phone, she can make a link, the Demogorgon can return to our world and kill/take whatever is on the other side. Because it's like a wild animal, it doesn't really care about what else it actually kills. It just needs food.
That doesn't make sense seeing as it took Will in the first place and it attacks pretty much every living thing it comes across. The only reason Will survived was because he was able to hide. When Will was hiding in Castle Byers, the Demogorgon also destroyed it and almost caught him. Barb also had the opportunity to run away but was pretty slow getting out of the pool.
I am pretty sure he is because they showed the prison in Russian and they said that there was an American there plus David Hopper put numbers on his profile picture which were the coordinates for kamchatka. Something like that

THIS THEORY IS STILL CORRECT. Heres why...: First of all, most of the evidence in the video still holds up and applies to season two, HOWEVER, the theory is wrong in the sense that Eleven in the Demogorgon. No... Eleven is the Upside Down. Why is this? When Eleven was in the sensory deprivation tank and she saw the monster, she was asked to confront it. She saw herself as a monster because of the way she was treated at the Hawkins Lab. When she touched the monster and realized the way she thought of herself was true, she opened "The Gate" to the upside down. The Upside Down is a physical representation of the inside of her mind. Becase of her upbringing, she saw the world as a dark, twisted place, and she saw herself as the Monster, which ruled over the place. The reason there are Demodogs is becuase she sees herself as having many flaws. She sees herself as not pretty, she sees herself as a bad friend becuase of how badly she was accepted by Lucas, she thinks she is a bad daughter becuase of the fight between her and hopper, etc. All of these things are small problems in a whole person. This would also explain why they operate as a hive mind. The Mind Flayer is the Monster eleven sees herself as, and the Demodogs are her personal demons that are under the control of the Mind Flayer. Eleven, not being able to think rationally because of her upbringing, is forced her to deal with her problems with physical representations, becuase thats the only way she knows how, which is why the upside down exists in the first place. Also, notice how the upside down only starts to spread when Eleven is angered with Hopper for not letting her leave and explore, and the vines are the representation of her mind wanting to expand and be free. As for the reason that the Mind Flayer didnt exist in season one, heres why. Eleven's representation of herself as the monster only increased with her powers. She wasnt very strong in season One, and thats why her opposite self was a single, grown demogorgon. At the end of season one, she defeats the demogorgon, and they both dissapear into the upside down in a tornado of ash. What is the Mind flayer made out of? Pillars of ash. Her power are exponentially higher in season two, from being able to drag a train to closing an interdimensional gate. Therefore, the mind flayer is just like the Demogorgon, but way more pwerful, just liker her. The battle at the end when Eleven closes the gate represents the eternal struggle of duality within her. The Mind Flayer representing Lies and Deception (As shown in the episode "The Spy" where, the Mind Flayer makes Will lie to kill the lab soldiers) and Eleven representing insanity, seeing herself as a freak. So all in all, the theory still hold up, but as Eleven grows, so does the upside down, asn the monsters within it. This whole thing is truly a love letter to the Dr. Jeckyll and Mr Hyde story. Tell me what you guys think.

The demagorgon is defeated, and that's all people are looking at to say that you are debunked. However, we have a reincarnation of a type of demagorgon, the demadog. Given the fact that the demadog "evolves", maybe the final form of the demadog is the demagorgon. (Here comes the big spoiler you guys I warned you) When eleven closes the gate, she does not destroy the mind flayer, rather, she cuts off it's connection to the outside world. This causes her to collapse apparently due to the immense amount of energy it would take to destroy the gate. I think this happened because all the demadogs (possibly pre-evolutions of the demagorgons) died, which would "kill" part of eleven. We also see that the mind flayer controls the demadogs making them *recklessly kill everything* like the second head. The demadogs when under influence of the mind flayer also seem to target eleven, because like you said matpat, the two "heads" always want to kill each other. This shows that the mind flayer is a so called "replacement" for the demagorgon itself. The final scene of season two also shows that the mind flayer is right where eleven is BUT in the upside down, showing that it knows where she is at all times, adding more evidence to the pile.

Dude....this is crazy to watch after season 4. Cause matpat points out everything that connects eleven to the Demogorgon, and without realizing it, was connecting both the Demogorgon AND eleven to Vecna. Like...seriously that's nuts. Also when he mentioned that the Demogorgon in earlier concepts was supposed to cause people to "bleed from their nose and ears" when coming into contact with it. This detail ALONE showed just how much this series had been planned ahead. It's just insane.

So I’m watching this now that the first part of season 4 is out and the fact that this theory still holds some merit is cool, as 001 is 011 counterpart and he controls the monsters in the other world, he would have the same powers as 011 as they all get there powers from him.

Wait, but in the real world.... Eleven is trying to save Will with the boys, but in the upside down, the Demogorgan is trying to kill Will. Now, you might be thinking now "MIRROR IMAGE'' opposites right? No, if The Demogorgan wants to kill Brenner like you said, then it has the same feelings as Eleven, but hatred of Will doesn't have logic in the package. Also, Joyce is not an enemy to Eleven, and Eleven wouldn't see her as one. Why does the Demogorgan go to Joyce's house and try to kill her?????? No hate MatPat still love your vids! I can't really put into words what I'm really thinking so it's a bit messy, but I think the Demogorgon goes to Joyce's house because of Will. Seeing as Will was in the shed, right behind the house, it would be natural for him to go back to his house and hide. Will could call through dimensions sometimes but not might be able to hear/be heard because it's across dimensions. As Joyce picks up the phone, she can make a link, the Demogorgon can return to our world and kill/take whatever is on the other side. Because it's like a wild animal, it doesn't really care about what else it actually kills. It just needs food.

That doesn't make sense seeing as it took Will in the first place and it attacks pretty much every living thing it comes across. The only reason Will survived was because he was able to hide. When Will was hiding in Castle Byers, the Demogorgon also destroyed it and almost caught him. Barb also had the opportunity to run away but was pretty slow getting out of the pool.

THIS THEORY IS STILL CORRECT. Heres why...: First of all, most of the evidence in the video still holds up and applies to season two, HOWEVER, the theory is wrong in the sense that Eleven in the Demogorgon. No... Eleven is the Upside Down. Why is this? When Eleven was in the sensory deprivation tank and she saw the monster, she was asked to confront it. She saw herself as a monster because of the way she was treated at the Hawkins Lab. When she touched the monster and realized the way she thought of herself was true, she opened "The Gate" to the upside down. The Upside Down is a physical representation of the inside of her mind. Becase of her upbringing, she saw the world as a dark, twisted place, and she saw herself as the Monster, which ruled over the place. The reason there are Demodogs is becuase she sees herself as having many flaws. She sees herself as not pretty, she sees herself as a bad friend becuase of how badly she was accepted by Lucas, she thinks she is a bad daughter becuase of the fight between her and hopper, etc. All of these things are small problems in a whole person. This would also explain why they operate as a hive mind. The Mind Flayer is the Monster eleven sees herself as, and the Demodogs are her personal demons that are under the control of the Mind Flayer. Eleven, not being able to think rationally because of her upbringing, is forced her to deal with her problems with physical representations, becuase thats the only way she knows how, which is why the upside down exists in the first place. Also, notice how the upside down only starts to spread when Eleven is angered with Hopper for not letting her leave and explore, and the vines are the representation of her mind wanting to expand and be free. As for the reason that the Mind Flayer didnt exist in season one, heres why. Eleven's representation of herself as the monster only increased with her powers. She wasnt very strong in season One, and thats why her opposite self was a single, grown demogorgon. At the end of season one, she defeats the demogorgon, and they both dissapear into the upside down in a tornado of ash. What is the Mind flayer made out of? Pillars of ash. Her power are exponentially higher in season two, from being able to drag a train to closing an interdimensional gate. Therefore, the mind flayer is just like the Demogorgon, but way more pwerful, just liker her. The battle at the end when Eleven closes the gate represents the eternal struggle of duality within her. The Mind Flayer representing Lies and Deception (As shown in the episode "The Spy" where, the Mind Flayer makes Will lie to kill the lab soldiers) and Eleven representing insanity, seeing herself as a freak. So all in all, the theory still hold up, but as Eleven grows, so does the upside down, asn the monsters within it. This whole thing is truly a love letter to the Dr. Jeckyll and Mr Hyde story. Tell me what you guys think.

*MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT*
A lot of people in the comments are saying that you're debunked because they just watched season two buuuttt they may be wrong. The demagorgon is defeated, and that's all people are looking at to say that you are debunked. However, we have a reincarnation of a type of demagorgon, the demadog. Given the fact that the demadog "evolves", maybe the final form of the demadog is the demagorgon. (Here comes the big spoiler you guys I warned you) When eleven closes the gate, she does not destroy the mind flayer, rather, she cuts off it's connection to the outside world. This causes her to collapse apparently due to the immense amount of energy it would take to destroy the gate. I think this happened because all the demadogs (possibly pre-evolutions of the demagorgons) died, which would "kill" part of eleven. We also see that the mind flayer controls the demadogs making them *recklessly kill everything* like the second head. The demadogs when under influence of the mind flayer also seem to target eleven, because like you said matpat, the two "heads" always want to kill each other. This shows that the mind flayer is a so called "replacement" for the demagorgon itself. The final scene of season two also shows that the mind flayer is right where eleven is BUT in the upside down, showing that it knows where she is at all times, adding more evidence to the pile.
