Why did the plane have such a high speed when landing ? For me is clear that the plane accelerates on the runway and does not slow down, it is clearly seen in the images.
December 2024 will forever be remembered as a month of unimaginable chaos and tragedy, where the fragility of human systems was exposed on a global scale. First, the catastrophic crash of Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243 on Christmas Day-a civilian plane struck by a missile in militarized airspace near Kazakhstan-sent shockwaves through the world, revealing the deadly risks of geopolitical conflicts intersecting with commercial aviation. Then, just days later, South Korea was devastated by the fiery collapse of Jeju Air Flight 2216, where a routine landing turned into the nation’s deadliest aviation disaster. These tragedies, while separate in cause, are deeply connected by systemic failures: aging aircraft, distracted governments, and the dangerous overlap of war zones and civilian skies. But this isn’t just about planes falling from the sky-it’s about a world at a breaking point. South Korea is already reeling from political turmoil, with impeachment trials and protests paralyzing leadership, while global air travel has become a pressure cooker of overworked crews and neglected fleets. Add in military operations spilling into civilian zones, and December has become a month of reckoning. These disasters aren’t just tragedies; they are warnings. How many more lives must be lost before the world takes aviation safety and geopolitical accountability seriously? This is bigger than any one country-this is a call for global change
It's not just the airline industry that is overworked and underpaid. Truckers suffer the same across their industry too. I wouldn't be surprised if others are dealing with the same issues
So I just learned this myself and I am hoping to inform others. I write this as an American who has never been on a plane, but have had recurring nightmares of witnessing plane crashes since I was a toddler, and have gone to many airplane parks just to watch takeoffs and landings. I am so embarrassed for what I am about to write and I hope others understand what I now know about the horror of this tragedy.. Until tonight, I had NO idea that "landing gear failure" meant NO wheels are deployed and it is just aircraft against asphalt. I swear I always thought landing had a secondary smaller set of wheels that where deployed to help with a soft and smooth landing. Nope. Wow. I am so dumb. Same wheels that take off, and are retracted up into the plane during flying, are the same ones that are then deployed to have a safe landing. That's it. Simple as that. Those wheels, the only wheels on that plane, never deployed. It's the same concept of a car going at least 120 mph on a freeway towards oncoming traffic, driving on nothing but the undercarriage of the car. No wheels. No rims. No breaks. Nothing but the lowest point of the car, unable to stop on asphalt. This plane had no wheels when it landed. It hit the runway with the plane itself. It looks like the engines and fuselage were taking the brunt when it landed onto that runway and it just couldn't be stopped. Apparently, in these cases, the pilot will attempt a belly landing where they land on the fuselage.. THE FREAKING FUSELAGE WHERE THERE ARE UPWARDS OF 6K GALLONS OF FUEL. I wonder if this plane could have stood a chance on a much longer runway, but there was just absolutely no saving the souls on board with the concrete barrier there. I feel so incredibly dumb not realizing the wheels are retracted back into the plane after takeoff. I watched that video at least 50 times before realizing what I was looking at and now all I see is wheel-less plane skidding 170 mph into concrete, and I am horrified and so disturbed. The news headlines make it sound like the reason for the crash was the plane slightly skidding into the grass, but I can't see an opening prior to the crash that the plane could have just glided through? Seems like it was nothing but an entire concrete wall in front of the plane. If the pilot had found a longer runway, could they have survived? Is there anyone of expertise that can explain why the pilot landed here? How long before a pilot lands do they deploy landing gear? How long before landing would a pilot know there are in this emergency situation? The news is now saying that birds are to blame. I've heard this for YEARS. There is no way this is a real thing at the end of 2024. Lost my dad, mom, and 15 year old pet (killed at the vet due to negligence and he should have lived to be at least 30) this last year. All in separate sudden tragic accidents. I'm only 29. It's unbearable. I am so sorry to all of the victims loved ones. You are not alone.
I live in the USA and I think that Boeing is a sick, horrible company. I tried to bring it up peacefully on Quora a few months ago but everybody got angry and said that Boeing must continue no matter what. Look what happens when nobody listens to me.

As was said in this interview… - Apparently, the landing gear was not deployed..and that has to be confirmed - The runway was longer than most runways at international airports
@ okay but concrete was all the end. At my local airport they don’t have this barrier the runway is followed by a field of vegetation that would surely have slowed the plane down a little who knows?
@@manuel_limoncello9779 I agree…I don’t think that having a concrete wall at the end of any airplane runway, no matter how long it is, is a good idea. I agree..and the reason for having that wall should be explained. That said, 1000’s of planes have landed safely on that runway prior to this horrible crash. I think that we all know that there were other factors, beyond the concrete wall, that will explain how this crash happened. The investigation will tell a lot. I agree with you though…had that wall not been there, had it been an open field, lives would have been saved. This is one of the tragedies and probable mistakes yet to unfold about this horrible, heartbreaking event.

@simonbrown7455 Two Boeing 737 MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019 were caused by software flaws that led to the loss of flight control and the deaths of 346 people: Lion Air Flight 610: Crashed on October 29, 2018 Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302: Crashed on March 10, 2019
Life is unpredictable , just few seconds pple are gone, i pray for the surviving families to have peace in their lives , for the loved one who perished in this airplane disaster
people are concentrating on the gear not being down, but what people seem to be missing is that flaps or slats were not deployed on that landing. some other videos show a compressor stall on engine number 2 and engine 2 hydraulic pump runs hydraulic system b. with system b failed the flaps and slats can now only go down and not back up. so did the pilots purposefully not use the flaps to be in a better configuration for a go around if necessary? its possible that with 175 passengers they are overweight and and close to the limits on single engine performance. as for the gear not going down, system A runds the gear, and that is run off of engine 1. in the case of a manual gear extension, gravity lowers the gear after the uplocks are released. in the event of hydraulic failure, the gear would still come down. its very possible this accident is due to poor pilot decision making, due to not lowering the flaps, making Vapp speed as low as possible for the gear up, landing
It is so pitiful, the plane looked perfectly fine going down the runway on its belly, then burst into flames so intensely, wow.... Condolences to families and friends of all who died in this accident.
Landing gear can be lowered manually, hand cranked. WTF is going on here? And what does that have to do with birds getting into the engine? Was this bird strike trough the cockpit window?

Fyi…while in flight, planes fly at over 500mph.
During landing, speed is at an average speed of 160mph
@JJSo12345 One engine dead, very high landing speed, no landing gear, no flaps...it's very strange.
may the innocent souls find peace...🥺🥺🥺 .praying from india
@@ghostvo7313 Let's not forget Israel emptying a hospital with critically ill patients and detaining staff.
Well said.... Prayers up🙏.
How much people die at christmas all the time, like 20 ys ago with 240000... There is nothing holy and has never been any wonder.
And genocide against Palestinians by US and iSraelis
OMG.........deepest condolences to the families of the victims....
This is so tragic! Condolences.
Look what happens when nobody listens to me.
calm down Nostradamus.
look around you .. everything is breaking down.
do u have any insight for timing of Magnetic Pole flip .. or .. Sun sneezing in our direction?
Yep, the planet should totally listen to you.
What an idiotic comment....
The plane in this accident left the factory 15 years ago, you moron lol
Interesting…so how do you know this was an issue with the airplane at this stage?
Quara is a sick place.
Why so fast? No flaps? No go around? And why that wall at the end …
179 killed two survived
Condolences to family & friends!!💔😮💨😮💨
Why a concrete wall with all that land for emergencies like this? Remove the wall right away! So sad. Rip.
well, it has been removed...
Condolences to the family and friends of those that perished.
Stop saying “veer”, which implies it deviated from a straight line.
That's why I always look very sceptical if someone says: "planes are safer than trains"
Yes they are PER MILE but NOT per hour...
Boing 737 workers who build the plane: I wont fly on this.
Me: 💀
After so many year, still nobody can come up with a solution to stop birds from flying into plane engines? Unbelievable!
I want to express my heartfelt condolences to the families in South Korea during this incredibly difficult time. My thoughts are with you all.❤😢
Wow could’ve been so easily avoided. Why had a concrete wall at the end of a short runway?
As was said in this interview…
- Apparently, the landing gear was not deployed..and that has to be confirmed
- The runway was longer than most runways at international airports
@ okay but concrete was all the end. At my local airport they don’t have this barrier the runway is followed by a field of vegetation that would surely have slowed the plane down a little who knows?
@@manuel_limoncello9779
I agree…I don’t think that having a concrete wall at the end of any airplane runway, no matter how long it is, is a good idea.
@@JJSo12345 As you may have heard by now aviation experts are baffled as to why there was a solid barrier there absolutely shouldn’t have happened!
This is really sad😢. Wishing the families the fortitude to bear this loss. Sending condolences from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Horrible accident, my condolences to everyone involved 🙏
Sincere condolences to those who lost their loved ones 😢
My Deepest Condolences to the Government and People of South Korea.
I was on the plane from Thailand to East Africa 🌍 15th of this month..... Alhamdulillah I made it back home safely ya Allah 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏 May their souls rest in peace 😢😢 may the almighty strengthen the families that lost their loved ones!
We BARELY recovered from the Azerbaijan plane crash and now THIS?! My prayers are with those affected. Rest in peace to those who were lost in the crash 😢
It was clearly not a stabilised approach if the gear was up. The ATC transcript will tell us a lot. But why no gravel trap before that wall seems the other question?
And why is there a wall at the end of the runway instead of a security fence?
it is alarming why the plane was traveling so fast and a 737's landing gear can be manually deployed and why wasn't that done.
We all have many questions.
The manual deployment takes time. It's basically a hand crank and can take up to 2 minutes
They knew they have problems 80 miles away... don't tell me they don't have time... and gear is designed in a way to be gravity deployable....
My heartfelt condolences. My prayers of comfort and strength for the families of the victims.
The plane was too fast.
And also to the comment before. A hard wall at the end of the airport? What the heck?
Absolutely terrible.
The Korean airport design faults killed the passengers.
My deepest condolences
"BOEING" a disastrous company😢
Boeing is responsible for 38 000 flights per day. Doesn't the idea of user error ever come to mind ?
@simonbrown7455 Two Boeing 737 MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019 were caused by software flaws that led to the loss of flight control and the deaths of 346 people:
Lion Air Flight 610: Crashed on October 29, 2018
Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302: Crashed on March 10, 2019
I am very sorry this happened, so sad. My sympathy to the families.
JUST IN: Air Canada flight lands in Halifax with a broken landing gear, resulting in the wing scraping the runway causing a fire
Fake news?
That’s really sad… sorry to the families
Life is unpredictable , just few seconds pple are gone, i pray for the surviving families to have peace in their lives , for the loved one who perished in this airplane disaster
Wonder what was the ATC's conversation with the pilots prior to the crash?
My condolences 🙏
Horrible 😢 Rest in Peace
Condolence from London England so very sad 💔
people are concentrating on the gear not being down, but what people seem to be missing is that flaps or slats were not deployed on that landing. some other videos show a compressor stall on engine number 2 and engine 2 hydraulic pump runs hydraulic system b. with system b failed the flaps and slats can now only go down and not back up.
so did the pilots purposefully not use the flaps to be in a better configuration for a go around if necessary? its possible that with 175 passengers they are overweight and and close to the limits on single engine performance.
as for the gear not going down, system A runds the gear, and that is run off of engine 1. in the case of a manual gear extension, gravity lowers the gear after the uplocks are released. in the event of hydraulic failure, the gear would still come down.
its very possible this accident is due to poor pilot decision making, due to not lowering the flaps, making Vapp speed as low as possible for the gear up, landing
It didn't 'veer off the runway' and it didn't 'crash into a fence'. It overshot the runway, and it crashed into the concrete reinforcement of the ILS.
Very sad ..
Condolences to those their love ones.
RIP.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. My heart is with the families and love ones of those who lost their lives and those survived.
So sorry.
Great analysis by Todd Curtis.
Apparently 179 of 181 have died
