Really good story telling! You portrayed the struggle of flying a crippled plane very well. I like the ground fly by view of the take-off scene. I'd like to see more of that. Those bombs must have been heavy, the JU87's were barely climbing after lift off.
I very often see on those Il 2 vids that the planes turn, circle and fly directly over the heavily defended target after their bombing run. What's the sense of that?
@@panzerivausfg4062 Yes it does matter, this game is supposed to be the best. The IX was just a wet dream in 1940. Would it matter if he was flying an F4 Phantom against the Stukas?
@@antonrudenham3259 OMG you can't enjoy a video if you hanging from such small details. It still remains a Spitfire so there is no problem. Anyway, the Spitfires wasn't so different in appearance through the different models. Just the late models added cannons and were able to carry small bombs. If you are able to recognize each Spitfire model, congratulations!
@@panzerivausfg4062 There are literally thousands of IL2 videos up on YT, all of them are at least good, including this one. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter but if a person is going to go to the trouble of producing a video titled 'Stukas bomb airfield in the Battle of Britain' then he really ought to use aircraft that existed in 1940. The IX was a totally different animal to the I, all that they retained were the wing shape and the canopy, they had a far more powerful engine, a cannon and MG armament, different tail, different cooling system and were a huge improvement on earlier versions. This bloke has also used the D version of the Stuka which didn't exist until 1941. IL2 BoB includes all the models present in 1940, why not use them?
Fun to watch...but if I was going to re-enact the BOB in IL-2, I would have picked the Mk5 Spit rather than the Mk9. Still wrong, of course, but closer.
It can be tough to land on those roads in France with the trees and hedgerows so close by on each side. Especially with limited engine power and aileron movement!
@@TJ3 When Battle of Normandy comes out it will have the channel map, so can go for the fight in France, or likely, earlier in Britain as well. With the upcoming Hurricane they will have sufficient early war a/c on both sides to create interesting BoB fights.
@@Gunter_Severloh Still 'pre-order.' Not released yet, however the Yak-9 and Yak-9T should be out w/in a week or two, and the P-47 Razorback and Hurricane should follow shortly thereafter. Hurri and Yaks are premium plane add-ons, but the earlier Jug is a BoN plane - first one, so possible that the map itself will come shortly thereafter. Fingers crossed. I recently joined Air Combat Group that did amazing campaign recreations of the Battle of Britain using IL-2 Cliffs of Dover Check this out. th-cam.com/video/v6u4JxgE2S4/w-d-xo.html The group is now doing a historical Ostfront campaign in IL-2 BoX. Missions are amazing with full pre-flight orders and coordination, weekly squadron training flights... all kinds of cool stuff. Encourage you and other interested virtual pilots to check it out.

It’s a hard choice for me cuz I love both the planes in Battle of Stalingrad aaand Battle of Moscow. Which one should I get?? Should I get it off steam or their official website? I’m pretty skilled at flying but not military stuff, I also know that u need to get Battle of Stalingrad first on steam :D
Rxin Starting to play tmrw actually. Joystick delivery was delayed for tmrw. One tip; you’ll find missions like taxi and takeoff, landing etc. Practice that a bit and a bit of shooting. Don’t overdo it cuz you’ll get bored. Then go in multiplayer and have fun. Good luck.
Bomb went long from unstable dive and beginning pullup prior to release. Check out the Air Combat Tutorial Library YT channel by Requiem. He has great flight instruction and weapon employment vids for IL2 Great Battles that walk through spotless technique.
Requiem is easily the best Il-2 instructor out there. Der Sheriff does good "How to _(insert aircraft here)"_ vids, but Req is on another level when it comes to explaining what's happening, how it's happening and why. Required viewing for any Il-2 enthusiast, helped me a tremendous amount.
@@_Meriwether however, I think you get more advice 'do this, don't do this' from Sheriff's vids, eg. Also get more applied comparative data, like competitive differences between a/c. His BF109 series is superb.

You should try this on IL-2 cliffs of dover! Would get proper map and planes for the battle of britain! Also clickable cockpits! ;)

Stukas are carrying Sprengbombe Cylindrisch 1000 a 1000 pound bomb biggest the germans had during ww2
@@Hammerhaswan It's actually a 1000 kg bomb. So, 2200 lbs. There were also larger bombs in the inventory up to 2500 kg.

And the Spitfire was at least a MK9 with its cannons and pointed tail fin. Only Mk1 was used in BOB.

This is the Kuban map! I just kinda use it to make it appear like the BoB map because I prefer this series over Cliffs of Dover
