My mother was cremated the same day she died. My mother's wish was that she wasn't viewed because the cancer deteriorated her in the later days. We simply had a memorial service with her ashes in an urn.
Caskets are for the ultimate honour, gentlemen. One's body could be thrown onto a garbage heap also but that's not a human should be treated... This is respect.
3:58 gives new meaning to the phrase "dead nuts on"... The Ted Williams Popsicle-Head On A Stick model is a foot shorter, and has no head pillow. Large glass mason jar sold separately.
@BournemouthVEVO You are right, its sad how much effort is spent in making a high quality casket, but most of of furniture that I have fails down when I try something new with my partner :/
Grave yards are good for the environment. They keep areas free of buildings and roads. Otherwise those areas that have cemetaries would be built over. It adds green to an urban areas.
That is frankly a brilliant idea. In my Will I have requested to be cremated an put in a firework then set off. KABOOM!!! Perhaps I could be freeze-dried in an amusing position for the final party, then let off in a firework?
@Harvey030547 How can you put a price on Worm Food? The most honorable and ecological way is to put the deceased in a rectangular hole in the ground. Beautiful flowers and natural grass will grow on the surface from the natural decay. That to me is a beautiful way.
They skipped a step. Before they get laquer they go to the finishers in general. Most wood isn't perfect and has holes or cracks. Finishers melt a resin into uneven spots and touch up color where it is too light or dark. On some finishes and models you hand sand the whole lid to remove woodgrain. Each coffin can take 5 hours to 3 days to finish in that step or even longer if the quality control person isn't happy yet and sends it back.
Julius Bernotas True fact, but you have to admit it definitely feels worth it for when your big moment arrives. michael mcdonough Hospital bills being more expensive? How is that sad?
@SteveSabbai lol ........ Yeah, what's the point in spending 8,000 bucks or more on a casket, vault and all that fancy stuff when we're all just going to rot anyways whether we're sealed or not (Think about the mummies). I mean, If you're buried, then no one is going to notice that you are 'naked' without a casket! Ha haha
dude i want a cherry wood coffin w/ mahogony stain...black silk and red velvet on the inside...and speakers blasting my favorite songs until the battery dies...
The very last one you see, can be bought off wal-marts site. It goes for about 1400 bucks. Thats no joke look for yourself. Wal-Mart caskets........hmmmm?
@DanielR305 It does make more sense to me to just consider cremation. The cost and profit of coffins and funeral directors is outrageous, but I feel that the use of expensive manufacturing process and materials doesn't make sense for a person who is merely becoming worm food inside that box.
@nitrostang50 some bling would be good A giant Big Ben working clock with pubic zircromium inlaid Roman numerals , hydraulics for bouncin'.... shit, might as well splurge, and put on some spinning rimms. The song "Funk Box" by The SugarHill Gang playing on the built-in speakers...
it should have spikes on the inside as well , and devil carvings on the outside and and not have his funeral in a church , instead, a place that resembles hell
Sigh...why do we waste so much money on this? I mean, all this wood could've been used for something else. It's going to rot/go to the ground anyways, so why not get something that's more easily replaced? Like paper/cardboard or hardened cornstarch?
We saved thousands ordering a casket from an online retailer, best price caskets. I was crazy nervous but they took care of us in a difficult time. The casket was gorgeous and everyone thought we spent so much more than we actually did. I highly recommend them! I don't get spending all that on something you put in the ground, it's highway robbery.
In ISLAM dead people are buried without caskets but only white textiles are used to wrap them. I think it's much better coz using casket for each dead person means alot of wasting of woods and metals.
Think I will build my own , I’m not going to burden my family with high prices and I wouldn’t have a clue in the end anyway what I’m in . I’ll make it environmentally friendly but nice as I can for the final hurrah. The one made in the video was nice but not worth the money charged in my opinion.
My grandmother had a beautiful casket it's color was autumn rose *A lovely shade of purple*
I miss her R.I.P
Very nice craftsmanship.
My mother was cremated the same day she died. My mother's wish was that she wasn't viewed because the cancer deteriorated her in the later days. We simply had a memorial service with her ashes in an urn.
They are also placed burried vertical in the ground facing mekka.
That saves alot of space.
Im dying to work in a casket factory!
I dunno, you'd probably face some stiff competition.
I'm sure you'll get you'll get there in the end.
I'd love to be able to work in a cemetery or funeral home as an ambassador, they have them here.
And all this craftsmanship and quality wood is gonna rot in the end.
Wooden pineapple titanic
I want mine to be lined with nice purple fabric. On the outside I'd have a beautiful forsest scene painted.
Caskets are for the ultimate honour, gentlemen. One's body could be thrown onto a garbage heap also but that's not a human should be treated... This is respect.
Those coffins are to die for!

The Ted Williams Popsicle-Head On A Stick model is a foot shorter, and has no head pillow. Large glass mason jar sold separately.
Best narrator.
I would KILL to work there!
Got it? Haha? No? Okay.
Nice video!!!
@BournemouthVEVO You are right, its sad how much effort is spent in making a high quality casket, but most of of furniture that I have fails down when I try something new with my partner :/
It looks very comfortable...
They have to be luxurious for respect.
Last funeral I visited the casket was about $300. White glazed pine, synthetic lining, no hinges.
Did the job. Stay away from expensive corpseboxes.
Best job ever.
Grave yards are good for the environment. They keep areas free of buildings and roads. Otherwise those areas that have cemetaries would be built over. It adds green to an urban areas.
does anyone know the name of the music in the background?
You can get plans for both coffins and caskets, as well as kits, online.

The tone of this video is making me laugh
whats the name of the song on it
This is a very good idea xxXfallingdownXxx!!!
we need decent burial and I want to build beautiful coffins
Everything u need to know about a wood casket..have a nice day
That is frankly a brilliant idea. In my Will I have requested to be cremated an put in a firework then set off. KABOOM!!!

What in the world does it mean?
samanli2014 *for your
the workers will know that when they die they will know which coffin would be the best...not that it mattered anymore...
Do you know what they call the vice equipment they use to make the curved top?
They skipped a step. Before they get laquer they go to the finishers in general. Most wood isn't perfect and has holes or cracks. Finishers melt a resin into uneven spots and touch up color where it is too light or dark. On some finishes and models you hand sand the whole lid to remove woodgrain. The dead don't give a shit; a relation of the dead wants it.
@Scynite There are cornstarch based coffins. Much better, but not as fancy.
they actually do use boxes. They are made of plywood
Not as hard to make, as I thought. People like wooden boxes to put on their desk, and dressiers. Could adapt this, and make something special.
Mahogany wood? Man, save the wood and use it for building guitars.
@Kysen100 It's an expensive and decorative worm food storage box...
wow I didnt know that much work was involved into making a casket! I thought machines done it all! how wrong I was...
It’s nicer than the flat I live in.
The workers must love the money, hate the job
I agree, Fastian, I would like to go to a body farm but other than that, I would want only the absolute basics NO EMBALMING and a pine coffin.
What if the real reason we bury people in coffins is to keep them trapped as a zombie?
why exactly do i need to know how a casket is made?
you might as well show me how i can stop windows crashing instead
It sure looks great to go to hell in a box like that
wow, thats very interesting in a creepy way...
Julius Bernotas True fact, but you have to admit it definitely feels worth it for when your big moment arrives.
michael mcdonough Hospital bills being more expensive? How is that sad?
Good question. Lets investigate this further.
I want to see how coffins are made.
lol note the smiley. I mean eventually everyone will be in one...but never really looked into how its made.
D=
uhhh, when your DEAD you dont feel anything so how would you know what comfortable is?
If i had an wish my one wish would be to see what its like to be dead
I wouldn't care about the standard of my coffin. When I am dead, I can't feel it anyways!
It's a giant prop box. I can't believe they sell these for 10,000 dollars. Jesus. I'm building my own!
@bergsteinlife And natural resources too...
wondering if the workers get discount for ther own funeral :P
So it is not waterproof
Is there a "How heaven is made" video?
D=

..... decorating the place i will forever die in... lol..
@SteveSabbai lol ........ The very last one you see, can be bought off wal-marts site. It goes for about 1400 bucks. Thats no joke look for yourself. Wal-Mart caskets........hmmmm?
that must be a booming business considering how many ppl die everyday!
If had to work there 8 hrs a day l would be so fucking depressed.
@DanielR305 It does make more sense to me to just consider cremation.

Green burial is the way to go.
I'll have a casket in about 60 years... 90 is a nice age to go.
well, i don't think i will really need them anymore...and who says they'd have to be mine?
+}
@nitrostang50 some bling would be good
A giant Big Ben working clock with pubic zircromium inlaid Roman numerals , hydraulics for bouncin'.... shit, might as well splurge, and put on some spinning rimms.
The song "Funk Box" by The SugarHill Gang playing on the built-in speakers...
A lot of effort for something that going to be buried in a hole...
Would you rather be placed in a casket or on a table? Think of the deceased family.
my coffin is going to be in the design of a ice blue nintendo 64 lol and ill make sure they burry me with one with a copy of goldeneye007 lol
nice to know how it's made but .... i'm not looking forward the day i use it ...
now THERE'S an "economy-proof' job!
hospital bills are more expensive then coffins , pretty darn sad reality in america
it should have spikes on the inside as well , and devil carvings on the outside and and not have his funeral in a church , instead, a place that resembles hell
That's a lot of work for a dead person.
lol... so true..
Color: Mehornay alSo
The hell with a casket i want to be Free in the air, so i pick cremation.
all that hard work...buried
Sigh...why do we waste so much money on this?
I mean, all this wood could've been used for something else.
