I just suddenly realised that both parents couples in this drama are connected and fell in love through "coffee" 😂 may be i should go drink more coffee to find the love of my life 😂😂😂
as a long time kdrama reaction fan, these guys have good satisfying reactions without asking the stupid questions and constantly being lost on the plot cos they're usually too busy making jokes or just can't focus on the subs. think they're my new fave.
they really pay attention even though they're kinda talking a little bit. Achara has been great with reactions and analyzing situations which is great cause she can pick up almost eveything. love em
The fact that Guryongpo tore his subordinate's lips matches the warning he had given to the man selling cell phones in Episode 5. In other words, the warning he gave to the man was a phrase from his actual past experience. In Korean, he said, "I will tear your lips apart" but the subtitles were translated into English as "i'll put your lip in a vice." at episode 5
Its really a roller coaster ride with this series. You start with cute highschool kids, puppy love and friendships with a pinch of suspense looming over the plot with the parents. Then you see Doosik and Minhyun, the love they shared and conspiracies they were thrust in. And then, here's Juwon, the man who is tenderhearted yet called as monster and now its his story. And yes, the acting - top class. Thank you so much for the reaction 💜
I really love the metaphors and imagery and symbolism in this episode. Mingi at the start pulling out the knife from his back, only to stab him in the back in the worst possible way. The sunfish is also like Guryongpo, he lools like a monster and is tough outside but he's really just a softie and a bit naive inside. He really thought they were family.
6:01 I CAN FINALLY COMMENT THIS it's funny when you think frank tries to kill him by running him over with a truck meanwhile our man had been getting run over cars so casually just to pay a week's rent in a motel 😭 like??? i love the way they said so much without even saying anything 20:09 "i can't find my way" hits so hard coz he meant it in both the general way and also in a meaning that he's lost in life 😭 4:57 when they said they love minki's character and i was like oh no you're in for a surprise dkdkd
In that earlier interaction you mentioned with the phone dealer, I'm pretty sure the phone guy realised who he was talking to when juwon started using his Pohang accent. Certain places on Korea I gather are known for their tough guys / gangs. And these areas have certain dialects/accents.
I am loving these reactions! Jang Juwon as "The Monster" is such an intriguing story and I love how you picked up on the fact that even though he heals, he can still feel the pain. he's not a monster, he's a human being who feels things and just wants to protect others. I love him so much! ❤
I would like to explain the culture in Korea to help you understand. I'm Korean and can't speak English, so I used a translator. I used the automatic subtitles function to understand your reactions. 7:42 Korean people hate greetings like Korean gangsters. In Korea, if you bow a lot and say ‘hyung’ in a loud voice, you are suspected of being a gangster. Koreans perceive it to symbolize power, not respect. There was a lot of organized crime in the 80s and 90s. And the coffee delivery woman is an illegal prostitute from the 90s. It is said that there were often coffee shops in remote cities where prostitution was disguised. If you order coffee to be delivered and pay an additional ticket, you are engaging in prostitution. So, the perception of cafes in Korea in the 90s was poor. 12:00 You sign a contract with the inn and her coffee shop and engage in prostitution. So she also keeps a ledger. And in Korean culture, calling someone by name is perceived as a stiff and distant relationship. That's why the innkeeper asked that question. But there are limits to the translation in subtitles. Actually, she didn't ask why I didn't say her name. She asked me why I didn't call her "sister". In Korea, people who are not very close, but see each other often and have a casual relationship with each other, are referred to as if they were relatives. Instead of names, we call them by their kinship, “brother, sister, aunt, mother, elder.” Even though they are not actual blood relatives, we call them that. However, this is difficult to understand if translated directly due to cultural differences, so I think the subtitles were modified. And the woman who delivers the coffee usually ignores her and treats her with little to no respect. And she often has a tough personality because she deals with people like that too. So she responded that Guryongpo's attitude was strange. The sentences may be strange due to the use of a translator.
if you like ryu seung ryong's (juwon) acting you should watch the movie "miracle in cell number 7" that is an immaculate movie and his acting is top notch! that is the hardest i ever cried in a movie (as a person who watches english, hindi, telugu, tamil and even a few japanese, korean movies) the main reason for me to start moving was han hyojoo as mihyun (bongseok mom) and him being in the cast coz i love his acting from miracle in cell number 7
People have been lauding the new One Piece series on Netflix as a rare successful live adaptation of a beloved manga/anime, and rightly so, but this series (and many other Korean and Japanese ones based on webtoons) have been taking it to the next level too!
두식,미현커플은 초엘리트의 절제된 감정의 사랑이지만 주원,지희커플은 밑바닥인생의 부족하고 처절한사랑이다..그래서 더욱더 감정이입이 든다.😅 Doo-sik and Mi-hyun couple are super-elite's understated emotions It's love, but Joo Won and Ji Hee couple lack life It's a desperate love..So I feel even more empathetic.
moving is a crazy rollercoaster of emotions! i personally can't handle gore so i covered my eyes during too brutal scenes but other than that the fight choreography is insane
if you like ryu seung ryeong (juwon) i recommend you to watch his movie extreme job if you looking to have a good laugh and juwon is one of the main character very recommended
I just suddenly realised that both parents couples in this drama are connected and fell in love through "coffee" 😂 may be i should go drink more coffee to find the love of my life 😂😂😂
We should drink coffee to find love I guess 😂
lmao

Same here. I feel you.

this is my new fave reaction channel, it's used to be not daily channel as my fave but it kinda annoying now lol

Finally we're here the best backstory of this entire series! He finally found his true sunfish that help him find his way, the mom 🥺

Ashara as a crime boss is epic 😂😂😂 no loose ends. I swear this actor and his grown man tears breaks me every time. 🙏
The guy who takes the knife out of his back is the one who betrays him later, as in stabbing him in the back.
the performance of "the monster" is really something...however, the best is yet to come when you watch episode 13...😭
Yes can't wait for that episode's reaction

His nickname (and the title of the episode) also ties back to the earlier episodes when the bully called his daughter a "monster"

The coffee is "companionship". It's a real service offered in Korea or it was, particularly at the Love Motels.
Mingi becomes a joker. Min-gi was a hairy chef at the restaurant where lawyer Woo Young-woo's friend worked.
He’s a great actor.
주원 이야기는 다크한데 로맨스가 들어가며 오히려 흥미진진해지는거 같아요.
그리고 ‘엄지’는 커피숍 이름이랍니다.
매번 재미있는 리액션 영상 감사해요.

"I love him."
"Yeah, I love this friendship!"
So did I.🙂🙂
Umji is the name of the coffee house. You'll learn the lady's name soon. Loved this reaction. Always look forward to them.

리액션 너무 잼있네요 😊😊
Achara’s smile heal the world.
The actor won best actor of 2023 drama awards🎉
Episode 11 is SO GOOD. Can't wait for you to see it.
Guryongpo's abilities were inherited from his ancestor Jo Hak-ju (King's Hand) during the Joseon Kingdom era.
19:50 just realized at this scene....like mother like daughter.
Can’t wait to see you guys reacting to episode 13 🎉
