The family are looking good , and so is the harvest . Fingers crossed for the loose fitting , had one go on a trailer and it shot the whole load of hydraulic fluid into the cab . I was so pleased . Great video 👍🇬🇧
If you are tired of the rat race in the farming business, try doing things differently. A couple years ago, I improved my take home profits significantly and make enough from my operation now to fund a rich lifestyle and not just to pay back loans and run the farm

Good to see Kayla is still working with the common folk after achieving her degree. In all seriousness, congratulations to both Kayla and Brian because the way she earned her degree took a team effort! And Brian should be proud beyond words.
We have to wait till wheat gets down to 14%. Can't dry it and it's difficult waiting!!! All our wheat is stored on farm and we spray an insecticide into the auger as the wheat is transferred from truck to silo. We also have rubber belts on our headers and as soon as harvest is finished we clean throughly and bait rat poison. Touch wood since being more disciplined we have has no issues. No straw or food seems to keep rats away.
WOW!! just spotted from bill whitman's comment Kayla won the Degree!! from another BEd (bachelor of education here) MASSIVE congratulations. that is seriously Impressive. I hope that opens up some fruitful doors for you. Edumacation is always good
Took off our small amount of weed here on our place in Western Pennsylvania last week the 11th we raised spelt here also took them off this afternoon yielded about 120 bushels to the acre this is a 19th of July and we use that much older less technical gleaner than you do but I just put the shed about a half hour I go.
I was yelling "release the belt tension" as loud as I could, apparently my voice can not travel back in time. It could be a distance thing too? And thanks for the Gleaner update, I can have breakdown closure now. Wheat looks good from hear! You're growing up fast Dax! You'll be running the combine before you know it.
Brian, If you would happen to be wanting another one of those blue Pete's there's 1 on interstate 65 North of Louisville about 28 to 35 miles at a Use truck lot ,good looking truck.
Yep. It does not take a big hole for a draper belt to start filling up with dirt. It's normally grass and stuff wrapping around the rollers that jams a belt. Or a rock. If there's not a hole, there's probably a rock tucked in somewhere.
2 Generation Mornin, I never even thought of that. I have seen it twice now. Couldn't be more pleased 😂. Your first day of wheat harvest took longer than 24 hours. With all the heat records this year 20% seems like it could be a bit lower, go figure. Stay cool. Happy subscriber 😊!
I had to smile at "the elevator won't take anything over 20%." One of our local elevators won't take wheat over 13, and the one we haul to won't take it over 14.5%. Luckily, everything we have cut so far is 10 -12%
We had and loved our 2x L2’s. Don’t farm anymore . Now honestly… does that Gleaner. Does it have all the Jam needed to run all the add on’s for peas and now eating wheat ? I’m getting the impression it’s underpowered even tuned by about 50 hp.
Hope you got all of your wheat harvested. Looks like one of our fields is going to be written off as sprout damaged. The ground has been too wet for weeks (it's still too wet; it could barely support a Polaris Ranger yesterday, no chance it supports a combine for a while).

non-farmer dumb question: back in the day you could tell wheat from barley, cos barley had the 'long ears'. comparatively recently we got long-ear wheat, which you can mistake for barley - one which seems popular is called Skyfall. so q) what's your wheat ?? looks long-ear !!
Hi I am a small scale farmer from India. Can you tell me your selling price of wheat in market and you total expenses per acre of land and profit per acre of land.
HMMM. RATS!Might have to fire Squishie or add a few good bigger cats to the Rat patrol!! CONGRATS TO KAYLA! AND BRIAN! on getting her teaching license. Good luck with the crop harvest this season. I heard Pug face Putin has quit the grain shipments in Eukrain so the wheat price should start going up!
@@BriansFarmingVideos no dryers in the elevators and when they fill concrete it goes to steel bins usually we cut the first part of June and done by the 4th well this year didn’t work that way I sprayed the last 200 ac today that we have left to cut 7 days and then I need 2 days
If its 20% now.......by the time you harvest a few truck loads....it will be well within the limits....and yes...I grew up on a farm and worked at a grain elevator....people are way to cautious!

Awesome Video and Much Love as Always Brian!!!
I work at the camp Clifton 4h camp, that’s cool your daughter was there!
When I was a young pup we did that every winter pull the belt inspect them and the roller bearings. You're lucky that the wheat is still to wet.

Had to rewire our baler a few years ago due to mice and rats. Started putting bar bate and moth balls in the baler and tractors. 👍😉morning.
Maybe put some dryer sheets in the equipment when it’s in storage? Works for campers.

Morning ! When growing up in the 60s we called the trashing wheat 😁
The new belt works wonders
Brian have you changed cameras? The clarity is much better.
I have edited the last few videos and don’t do color correction like my editor was doing. Personally I prefer how it looks when I edit it
Are wheat yields higher with the new drill compared to last years broadcast
The old massey 21 we used to take the canvases off every night keep them dry,

Use mothballs in your combines when not in use
good
how much lbs or kg do you drill your wheat per hectar? Wheat is looking great over the video.
Brian just curious does the elevator dry that wheat, we do a lot of wheat up here in Saskatchewan and I know wheat wouldn’t keep long at 20% moisture?
Yep they dry a lot of wheat every year
Does double crop make a profit vs just single cropping?
Ya know Jds endless belts on the fD’s seemed like a big job to change but in reality it’s easier than a MD.
Afternoon
Atleast yall got things started. I know its aggravating because you want to get your double crops in.
Mornin’
its durum wheat?
Good Video
20 moisture in Oklahoma they dock us anything over 13.5 and 14 is cutoff
We are docked over 13 for moisture but the elevator will not take it over 20. I’m guessing you all don’t have a drier at the elevator

Always an adventure to keep life interesting. Bummer how rats can cause electrical issues. Glad you were able to get rolling.
Do yall sell any grain to Cargill Dayton?
and that why we would always take the draper belts off for the winter it get all the crap out
Ran drapers for 12 years and this was a first
Have you gotten any rain lately
I'm surprised there wasn't a code on the dash.

Yeah but we didn’t have drying weather. High humidity no wind or sun. It didn’t really get dry for a week or so
Guy should come up with a flavor of wash that makes the wires not taste good.
Weeeeelllll! Bob Cam!
❤️❤️
Mornin
Smart mechanic once told me , slow down and you'll go faster 😊
Why do you cut the wheat so high up
The less residue on the ground the easier it is to plan double crops
Oh ok thanks
not that the reason is right, but hope with RU backing out the grain deal yall gunna get good prices for your wheat
Train Dax now run combine
Too say a fuel leak is “ less the ideal” is an understatement
I Got 5 good rat catching cats I'll give you here in Galloway
Don't take my stuff!lol lol
Funny I thought to myself they can't have the tension off the belts.
Isn't wheat suppose to be around 11-14 percent
If it was dry
