Pepper is the sweetest cat and an awesome mommy. Laura is the best and most exciting farmer on YT and is always giving us an education every planting and harvest season. Let's help her to exceed 500,000 before harvest is over.
You guys are awesome. I went to college in Omaha and love the heartland, mostly because of people like you. Such a wholesome and wonderful couple. Love your videos.
Hi Laura & Grant. I hope you reach your 500K subscribers goal, it's doable. Love the way you share the good, the bad and the ugly of farming with us and protecting you family privacy while doing so, that's very importent. Farming is no walk in the park, it's hard labour combined with lots of uncertainties like weather, crop disease, market prices (ie: what's going on in the world) etcetera. Yields are never guaranteed. They may be insured to some extend, but you're already in a bad place when when you need to claim insurance. Please keep posting the good stuff and fingers crossed for a good harvest!
Born and raised city kid in SE Wisconsin, but in my early years my grandparents had very close family friends that farmed what was then the “country” and it was only 10 minutes from home…. Now it’s unrecognizable for the development. Anyways.. every Sunday to the farm and those are some of my very best memories of childhood. All these 50ish years later,I see some of the kids of that family from time to time, some family is still farming, others not. Your channel recalls some great memories for me as well as gives me a greater appreciation for what you do to help keep people fed. Thank you for all the work you put in. I told my oldest daughter about this channel. While not interested in farming per se., she is learning to be a good Steward of the land and working toward self sustaining some of her food supply. I know she will enjoy you guys and how you go about your business. Thanks again and I wish you a great productive and profitable harvest
I really enjoy your show, I'm a South suburban boy just outside Chicago, my early childhood was a prairie & farm community, I watched all that go away over the years 😢, I guess that's why your videos are so comfortable for me, thank you 😊
Been a subscriber since the beginning. You guys are great together. Love to follow along. You NEED A AMERICAN FLAG ON YOUR COMBINE! Keep up the great work. Laura you are a gem in the rough. Grant you are a good man.
@@earnierosenow9834 So you can really annoy workers who have the right tools and know what bolts to expect. No, the correct answer is to get a set of metric Allen keys!
Free tip Monday, turn the bucket around so the spout is on the high side when you pour and you wont get all the glug glug glug. Have a good day and stay safe.
Get an OBD2 scanner and see what needs attention. In the pickup If it's not flashing it isnt critical. And its not necessarily what the OBD is flagging, but it's a diagnostic starting point. 5:29
When pouring from a full bucket, put the spout on top. It will not gurgle and it will pour faster. Once the bucket is half empty you can put the spout in a lower position. Thanks for great videos.
I enjoyed the first day of harvest with you and Grant and certainly appreciate your taking me along. I hope you make your goal on subscribers Laura! Have a great week and I look forward to the next video. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Anyone who eats food for a living is enlightened by the large scale farming that you present to us. Not to mention, Laura has electric eyes and a smile that is bigger than her face.
I sat up in my chair and gasped a bit when Laura's phone fell off the combine as I thought she fell through the combine as well. Whew! Glad you're ok. Have a productive and SAFE harvest you two.
Laura you and Grant don’t have to explain yourselves when it comes to anything including paid promotions. We that truly support you understand and are actually happy you have sponsors. I’ll even let the 15 second ad run fully from time to time or let it run longer than the 5 seconds because I think “Ooo this will help Grant and Laura, I hope it does.” Anyways y’all have a great harvest. Excited to see more videos and then during winter time see Grant and the boys ride the snowmobiles ✊🏼👍🏻
You can get DEF in totes and delivery through the fuel dealer. And watch for deals on a hose fitting crimper tool - have the bulk hose and fittings and you can crimp a nre hose at 10 PM whenever you need one. 😊 20:46 check NAPA or preferred auto parts supplier.
Laura, you have an excellent platform to educate folks to the dangers of corn bins as far as being trapped and sucked in. Your local fire 🔥 department could steer you to great safety info. And mention keeping the combine from catching fire by removing dust and debris accumulation. Keep doing what you're doing.
Get the pickup Shop Manual -,it has a diagnostic tree to follow the reported failure that its reporting. Might nree simple tools like vacuum gauge and timing light for setting distributor base timing. 12:14
I enjoy watching your harvest. Reminds me of my wheat farming days with my grandfather during my youth. My tractors didn't have air or auto steering. Lol
Some of my fondest memories growing up are of visiting my aunt's and uncle's farm in eastern Colorado. Watching your videos brings me right back to those days. I mean, I can even smell the equipment shed, the fields, the corn crib...everything. Thank you Laura and Grant. Seriously.
Laura if your in a semi comfortable position pour them buckets with the spout at the top its faster and it wont chug. My gramp taught me that when i was working on the well drilling rig.
Laura if u take the hydraulic pail and put the spot to u by turning pail half a turn, the fluid will pour out better, and don't open the little air vent hole
Great Videos! Laura when pouring out of a bucket with a lid put the lid towards the top rather than the bottom, you'll get a smoother pour. Grant I didn't see how you installed the Hydrolic line but if you stick a nipple on the end and connect the new line to it, it should slide right in place of the old line. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks Laura for answering a question I had about cutting your crop at an angle. I have had a spam on your last two videos, I report them as soon as I see them, so do not worry they are so obvious. Love to you both from Mike. ❤
Grant is a very talented and highly motivated person. Laura is awsome and very good at doing videos. I grew up on a small beef farm . I'm 57 yr old grandad of 6. Wish I could ride along with either one of ya in that million dollar deer. Love your videos please keep them going.
Thanks for another great video Laura and Grant. It was interesting. Overall your first day of harvest went good except for the pin hole in the hydraulic hose. You all did a good job of getting it fixed and ready to go next morning. Like the fact that you cleaned the combine up after the oil leakage and open shaft door situation. Good going. Like your new fuel trailer. It is a gem. Neat rig. Glad you got Gage to help with harvest. Good help. Thanks for everything Laura and Grant. You take care and be safe. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
One thing that you will notice with the no-till field is that it will retain more more moisture in the soil. Every time the soil is tilled, underground moisture is exposed to the surface and it evaporates more quickly. Our family farm in the Palouse region of eastern Washington state has been nearly 100% no-till for over 40 years now.
Love your channel and in particular love Pepper. And the kittens . You both are Jack's of all trades . I had family in the Dairy Farm life in Wisconsin, many stories, seeing two young farm folks in the life is ENTERTAINING , fun and heart warming. R 🎉
On the hydraulic line with the pin hole, it looks like there is a bolt above it. I'm betting that the line rubbed against the bolt which caused the leak. I really enjoy your videos ! !
It is so refreshing to see a young couple working together on the farm. I will be running a red combine tomorrow for a friend of mine. I do like running the newer John Deere. Charlie SE Minnesota 😀
The look on your face! Recovery of your phone! Priceless! I can remember when a farmer didn't have a power washer to clean up a mess. Shop towels to the rescue. Oil leak and dust always equals a heck of a mess! The power washer is awesome for the clean-up! Awesome invention for the framer!
Lol, we had the same problem on day one of corn harvest with the grain tank drains. Closed two of them and left one open. Didn’t take long to find that out.
I love watching you guys harvest gif a long time. Does not bore me. Reminds me of the little farm we had. Stuff breaks. That’s life. Make your video long. It’s all good! ❤️👍👍👍
If you hold that bucket with the spout on top it will pour easier. Air will be able to flow the oil better and it will not make the gulp, gulp sound...
Tip... Poke a small hole on the opposite side of the spout with a nail/screw to make a breather hole and then use whatever you used to make the hole to plug it up when not using the pail..
I see that being a farmer is more than just planting and harvesting. A farmer needs to be a mechanic, a welder, a business person, a mathematician, and other trades :) BTW - thanks for helping feed me and my family.
Another reason for going on an angle when harvesting soybeans, the cutting bar doesn"t end up pushing on top of constant ridge for a half mile if you go up and down, whereas the angle "cleans" the sickle blades when it is between the rows.
Laura take a bit of advise if you will turn the bucket with the sprout on the top side when you pour it it will not bubble out in gulps but pour out nice and smooth OK. I'm an old man dear who has poured out way to many buckets OK
Liked the kitty pics I'm very impressed with you and Grants patience when working on the combine don't worry Laura if that's the worst thing that happens when you are running a machine your farming career will be great keep up the good work 💪
When you pour any oil out of a can, it's easier if you put the neck of the bucket closer to you , where it pours faster! So, in other words, the way you were pouring turned it around where the neck would have been closer to you!! But you are killing it!!
Yes you are correct I have 4 of you following. You are not the only one I try and look and see when the account was opened.. if its brand new I don't follow or reply to them its just a waste of my time. I drove a 90 dodge diesel for 10 years. If they need to turn over a full revolution, it's time to look for a fuel leak. When I sold it, having to hold the key in start messed with me for a while.
You are so smart to have additional income support for your farming operation - I am a former (many years ago) farm/ag lender and getting young couples started was and is difficult
Glad you said something about the scammers I've had encounters with 2 of them trying to get donations and sell t shirts. You can certainly tell in their typing it's not you. Love watching your everyday jobs and adventures on your all's farms.
Run all the advertisements you can! You work so hard you deserve everything you get. I think we as viewers should be watching the adds you include in your videos to show our appreciation for the entertainment!
When pouring a five gallon of oil and it is full, turn the spout to the top and pour. it will not chug and it is get air and pour faster.
Or keep the spout at the bottom and stab a hole at the top of the lid for venting. Trust me it works just as good.
Pepper is the sweetest cat and an awesome mommy. Laura is the best and most exciting farmer on YT and is always giving us an education every planting and harvest season. Let's help her to exceed 500,000 before harvest is over.
You can pour oil out alot easier if turn your bucket 180 degrees easy to control flow and the bucket can breathe.
You took the words right out of my mouth!. I was just starting to type it when I looked down and saw your comment.
Yes
Exactly!
is a FILL an entire bucket? Them input$
This channel has come a long way since Laura's humble beginnings, I remember her getting excited about 25k subscribers.
Been a subscriber for a while now good luck to your harvesting
Be safe, and enjoy your time together!
Greatly appreciate the opportunity to "ride along"! You need an American flag on your🇺🇲🇺🇸 combine! ❤
Want to her hit 500,000

Just like her dad's combine, right? 👍
use the allen key that's 1 size too small, wet it and stick it into a sand pile. The quartz that sticks will fill the gap and let ya turn it
Hmmmm? I'll put this in file 13 for that day when I get in a pinch. 🤔
why not just change out to a bolt of the same size as those on the bottom side to reduce the amount of tools needed for the job
I like it!
@@earnierosenow9834 So you can really annoy workers who have the right tools and know what bolts to expect. No, the correct answer is to get a set of metric Allen keys!
What about 25 dollars for a set of both metric and fractional. Or around 15 for either type metric or SAE
Free tip Monday, turn the bucket around so the spout is on the high side when you pour and you wont get all the glug glug glug. Have a good day and stay safe.
Same for milk and juice cartons (at least in Germany)
I second that tip
I third that tip. Also for adding oil to your car when you don't have a funnel, and you do have a can of oil that has the pour hole on one end.
It's really great to see to great people such you and Grant being young as you are making a life in farming, keep up the great job

So much easier to pour from a full 5 gallon pail if the pour spout is at the top when starting, you will have much better control and easier to hold.

Thanks for updating us on the kittens. Hope you get the combine fixed soon. Take Care and Be safe on the farm Out
Thanks for the ride, Laura and Grant!!! Farming is an EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE VENTURE!!!You do what you need to, to make ends meet,!!!!!
Pour a 5 gallon bucket with the spout at the top. Smooth pour because the air can get in…. Life changer!!!!!!!
I love your videos and so glad you are willing and able to take us on yours and Grants farming journey
You have been pumping out the videos lately, good on you. Nice job. Take a break.
Thats good your starting harvest....Everybody forgets something lol....Stay safe you all
FYI---turn the spout on the bucket to the top of the bucket and it will pour smoothly, self venting👍good luck.
Very great job you are doing for the farming industry I really like your program
:Hold bucket spout at top as you pour, will let air in and pour faster, Then just turn bucket as level goes down in bucket
Thanks, wishing you well on the start of harvest.
Pouring out of a full 5gal bucket, pour the sprout on top that will give it air, that will give a steady pour.
Thanks Laura!!
So Awesome To Ride Along With You!!
Keep Smiling On!!
😄👍👊❤️
Turn to bucket 180 degrees, so the spout is on top. The air goes into the bucket easy, so the oil pours fast.
When you pour any oil out of a can, it's easier if you put the neck of the bucket closer to you , where it pours faster! So, in other words, the way you were pouring turned it around where the neck would have been closer to you!! But you are killing it!!
I’ve watched your channel for a while and have to say I enjoy seeing everything, but the harvest videos are the best. Keep up the good work!
Wishing you good luck in reaching your goal.
Hello Laura I follow you now for 2 weeks
I love the channel
Everything is so big compared to Belgium !
Every day is different !

😊
9/25/23 - Thanks for the heads up on "Scammers". Hope you guys have a good harvest . Enjoyed your video today.
Yes you are correct I have 4 of you following. You are not the only one I try and look and see when the account was opened.. if its brand new I don't follow or reply to them its just a waste of my time. I would rather watch your videos Love both of ya ...you make it look easy but I know for a fact there is a lot of up keep and issues during a day. and long days.
Glad to see you have a Rotary Lift built in Madison Indiana 👍
Grant your ok, Laura you are the star 💖🌹.
Oil pouring tip. Even on five gallon buckets put the spout on top and pour. You want get the burp of air slobbering at you. And it pours faster
Enjoyed watching the video Laura and Grant 😊
Thanks again for your smiles and your joy of doing good work.
Very colorful nails, Laura . As always you look beautiful with a smile.
good tip for them full five-gallon buckets. Put the pour spout at the top. It will pour very nice.
Outstanding, wishing you a great harvest 😊
All combines MUST have Ingestion Coverage!! One sweep arm can wreck the inside of the combine!! 15:38
Love your different colors on your finger nails love 😊

Great 👍 content guys. Thanks for sharing.
Love you all for your love for farming. WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE I FARM TO great job 🌽
Oh my gosh absolutely love ❤️ you guys the dream team, thanks for the updates emerging technologies supporting your chosen field (yeah bad pun 😀).
Sickles have sections, (individual cutting knives on the sickles) I grew up on a cattle ranch. (most of us put up hay for the cattle)

500K subscribers. That's an impressive goal. I don't think you'd hit 25K when I found your channel. Quite the growth!
No pun intended ..
