Bro Umar had a great vision. Bit execution may have been something else. He shouldn't have been a One Man Show.
I've been to quite a few of his lectures, and seen them.
The difference between me and others outside of the conscious community, is that I've Always had a Pen And Paper, taking notes to look up the Laws and rules he spoke about, concerning schools, children and the injustice and solutions.
Most people just complain instead of taking the Good out of what he teaches.

I love what he said about Tom Joyner vs Breakfast Club, Ricky Smiley... today’s Black morning talk shows. Tom highly educated people around him. He had the comics and artist these but when it came to important topics, he had very smart people running the discussion.
Today’s Black morning show are all about entertainment and gossip. Even when they delve into politics they are extremely surface level with the discussion. They can’t go deep like a person like Tavis Smiley or Michael Eric Dyson. Tom had actual professional journalistic and medical professionals on the show staff, not just as guest after a story broke.
We just keep dumbing down things for ratings and likes.

@@anthonylee3864 That's great. But how many of us are actively DEMANDING academic success/excellence from ALL of our children, not just the ones that take to it "naturally"? The answer is far too few. This includes my parents. I heard The Minister LF speak when I was 8 and he said to get a STEM degree. That's why I was the only AA in my clinical rotations cohort in med school.
If you encouraged your kid to be the best in the classroom then I will give you some credit. If the kid just so happened to like school, then you don't get to brag about "being a good parent".
I would encourage the kid to pursue a STEM degree (maybe law if s/he can't handle the math) and steer clear of the bullsht (sociology, AA studies etc). Farrakhan used to give this advice (which is why I became a chemist, then physician) but he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings anymore. I know we love crying about racism. STEM jobs are essentially racism proof. They're also recession proof. Furthermore, you can take or create your job anywhere in the world you want to go to.

Umar could've bought land, and built a school out of trailers/mobile homes or even storage containers. Would've been much much cheaper, newer, easily manageable, and could've spent the rest on staff and programs all while owning the school. It was not a well thought out strategy from the beginning. Instead Umar became a professional fundraiser and school is still not opened.

The problem with coming together with other groups is that black people by and large have put our necks out on the line for everyone else to come up off our struggle but other groups don't reciprocate that, in particular, Mexicans my dude.
If we're all going to come together and uplift then it can't be us starting that outreach it has to be your people along with other groups first. Y'all gonna have to call your people out and hold them accountable.

I had a friend back in the day who ran a similar scam like Dr. Umar. He acquired a building and transportation to go into business for himself. Friends and people living in the neighborhood donated money and labor. Even the women he dated paid him. Long story short the business never opened and the city took back the building. At the time I believed he had good intentions but was just short on luck. It wasn't until I got older did I understand the hustle. The same can be said for Dr. Umar. There's no end result.

    • @BlindMellowJellyInc
      @BlindMellowJellyInc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

No, you are just being kind because Mr Canady up in Harlem said he is there to help if needed and Umar never reached out. To get teachers and staff comes from grants and state programs. Once granted the teachers will be paid for. That is how you know he was lying the whole time.

    • @BlindMellowJellyInc

The fact he is pretending to do something many do not understand the basics of is the hook he has. His followers are usually unaware and ignorant of how things are done. He knows this and can fool them so easy it makes no sense. It is like the commercial where the chainsaw killer is chasing the teens and the girl says lets go in the barn and hide behind the chainsaws and the other girl says what about the running car?? Umar has collected some of the dumbest human minds he could. lol I know philly is the capitol of the best charter schools in the country and it is so easy to create them due to the need, states usually match whatever little change you have collected to assist in the opening. Why dont people know this.

With that being said, I see you haven't done your research on what umar claims he's trying to do. If you had, you'd know his main point is to do it all free of government assistance or interference. So no he doesn't want to receive gov't subsidies to pay teachers build or run the school. I still believe he capping cuz he could have done more with less

Men can pull their resources to establish businesses. They must sit at the table and plan. Start with creating a personal budget, so that you can determine your disposable income. Men and women are graduating from HBCUs by the thousands every year. These men and women are graduating with degrees in business, finance, education, accounting, education, information technology , and other critical skills. These educated men and women are valuable resources. You must have a plan. You must constantly evaluate your progress, and make adjustments as required. Parents must take charge of their children’s education. We must participate in PTO and PTO. The TV must be turned off and the books must be opened. Our young people are capable of excellence, and that excellence must be nurtured and encouraged. Nobody should be paying $200 for shoes, unless they have an NBA contract. We must invest and teach young people how to save for their future. Parents must lead. Men must protect the community from evil. Until this happens nothing will change, and things will get worse.

However just me doing it isn’t going to help. What do our people do in the mean time. We have built a lot of what we can’t have. What is the solution? Stop shopping and have people out of work and then what? We are currently making our own extension and product’s but we are competing with a massive group. WE ARE TRYING BROTHERS WHAT ARE YOU DOING

@@styledtogo19 I understand what you're saying. Its my opinion that we depend on everyone else to give us their definition of beauty. We have invested so much into every other culture but our own. We need to start focusing on the things we need to survive as a people. We need to innovate a new standard of beauty. One that we have control over. I have a transport business. It's much like all the others. I watch people with a much lighter skin tone make 3 times more than me for the same work. We all are going to suffer. There's no getting around that. We need to stand together and build something that can sustain us. We have to stop being selfish. Stop selling out. Start supporting one another. There is a fix. We need to recognize that our situation is relative. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. Let be us to decide what's beautiful for us and stop judging each other by another man's values. Especially a man that hates us. I dont know what everyone else is doing but I teach the young men and try to convince them to help uplift our people. I also give them jobs. It's not much but it's a start.

@@kenstar3692 some good points, also the black panther party didn't start out with money and look how many ppl they fed educated and housed. You make the steps and show ppl your work and that makes it easier for ppl to hop on board. In all honesty I call "cap" on Dr Umar and here's why... he could paid 30k and bought a nice piece of land, not a building land. Secondly if the focus is educating our ppl and have something that's ours, he could have started with 1 primary structure whether permanent or a trailer. He could have Brought ppl in who are willing to donate their time to the cause and get started ASAP with who and what he could. Lastly after listening to this interview and going back in thought on Umars own words... why would you buy a large plot of land with multiple buildings that need repair, when you could have spent 1/4 what he claims he spent on the property and used the rest of the money to lease or buy a few trailers temporarily and begin building on a permanent structure. If he was about what he say, by this time he would have more to show than what looks like a field of abandoned buildings💯

I wish Ali could reach out to Dr Umar, work with him in whatever capacity to help him. This is a perfect illustration of Black divise. We like to publicly criticize our brilliant people and not help them and their ideas become successful. Sometimes I feel like our kind is afraid of Dr Umar for being outspoken. Dr Umar is that person once he’s dead, everyone gonna cry and recognize what of a brilliant mind he was. That’s what we do. LeBron got the money and knows multimillionaires who can help him.
Dr Umar only wants to count on the Black community to help, but we look at him as a suspect or something negative. We need people like Dr Umar in our community who’s not afraid to say the things he say. Let’s support each other instead bashing each other.
