I remember when MaxPax first came on the SC2 scene with his insane cheeses. Look at him now, awesome achievement.
After watching ESL, I was initially sad that I'd have to rewatch this series. Then, honestly.. I was extremely glad I did. Winter, you're the best damn caster, period. And the energy and knowledge you bring is unmatched.
after all those times of max's stalkers ambushing medevacs, clem finally ambushes the stalkers for the grand final kill
That's the fragility of Toss and to a lesser extent, sc2 units in a nutshell.

Serral not being here really opened up the bracket for this epic finally.

Both played well. It was a great set.
But my biggest complaint about TvP is how all or nothing some fights are. T pushes in, Phoenixes hold the Vikings, T dies to Collossus. P has stalkers out just a hair too long, loses half his army for free, T's push is impossible to hold.
"Clem, the Neo of StarCrafting" is such a perfect description. Also, love the sports coat. You've got real pan-ass, Winter.

Inside Europe, only Serral can shutdown Clem, and even so it's about 60-40 between these 2 madlads. With Serral gone, Clem is like a kid in a candy shop. (he might be eating too much candies and got high on sugar cuz that was way too close)

Absolutely. Protoss requires batteries to hold first marine push. For second he needs colossus. But on third comes vikings and emp... It's losing battle vs T.

I think the frustrating thing about PvT right now is it feels entirely in the hands of whether the Terran messes up. If both play perfectly, it feels inevitable that Terran wins, and these two are so close to perfect that I just get sad because it feels like MaxPax is just as good but loses most series against Clem
Gotta love that these two can go 7 maps in 1 hour.
If serral is in military i bet his assign as drone operator that control 100 drones to swarm the enemy😂

51:30 Supply and resource dead even, and somehow 52:30 Terran on less workers but army nearly twice the size and stronger. Idc what the actual fuck was going on but you can't look at that and say the game mechanism isn't a big fuckup.
wdym? Max expanded to 3 bases and was creating workers, while Clem invested in production stayed on 2 bases and just pumped marines.
Terran on two base = win.
Wow that was a close series. Clem making those Terran units look real OP as per usual. MaxPax putting up a valiant effort with a bunch of different builds and strategies but those Terran pushes are brutal. STIM to win baby

Clem looks dominant in the European scene yes, but that doesn’t automatically make him the world best
In recent non-EU tournament matches, he lost to Firefly, Nightmare, Oliveira, who we know are not even top tier atm

It's a way to force someone to have National pride about their country. And to have fear in the back of their minds that at any moment they might go to "war"

MaxPax's hidden identity trips me out. I feel like I'm watching Magnus Carlson (world chess champ) vs Hans Neimann (proven cheater) when I watch MaxPax. But then again I assume Blizzard vets these people as being [not Life] and [not abusing AI]. After watching AlphaStar rival Grandmasters half a decade ago, you have to wonder, right?

What was MaxPax's mistake in game 7? Im a bit tired of seeing terran walk through any protoss early game army...
I might be wrong, as im dia 3 player only, but the way i see it, if you dont have for the first big Terran push splash or mass chargelots, you are dead. MaxPax went for Oracle then into blink, both great harrass units, but units that dont really fight well. Going for both those harrass option means his other tech, like splash dmg or chargelots was delayed so he just died. I would guess he hoped to delay Clem longer with the harrass, but it didnt work. Prolly against other terrans it works.... Im Protoss and i wont lie, it feels to me often as if Terran can absorb both workers and army losses much better then Protoss and have insane economy on 2 bases. Protoss must do everything much more perfect, preserve each unit, scout exactly what T is doing and then maybe they got a chance.

He needs to either do enough damage to either delay or weaken a push which he failed to do or have enough splash/meatshields to eliminate the bio or make it to painful/risky to engage which he also didn't have enough of so he didn't make a mistake so much as clem didn't make one against the harassment.

Well, that was predictable.
it was almost good but then the last game toss didnt do any damage in the early game which might as well mean that he's dead.
It's almost like TvP is hilariously imbalanced in favor of Terran and has been for about 14 years, or something
If only protoss wasn't underpowered garbage, it would be fun watching PvX series. But it isn't fun, when you see that a protoss win necessitates a perfect game, like G1. While a terran win looks like "I research stim and then I go across the map and win". There is no terran brilliance in any if these games. It's all a standard affair really.
The precision micro required at that level is insane. We didn't get to that point this final, but if a terran eat a single big disruptor hit it's over for him.
Protoss has been looked at as the noob race for over 26 years now. And still is the noob race. and the truth is that the noob races does not attract the very top 0.0001% best players. Even the very best Protoss player doesn't even play Offline tournaments.

Or are you assuming that is the case because all the better players seem to be Terran or zerg? Or maybe it is a handicap of the race missing a skill expression? How would you prove that either way
