Nice to see you back. Oddly enough, I'm starting to feel like I've been going a little too hard on the whiskey this year. I plan to cut it way back this upcoming year. I got my hands on a lot of nice stuff in 2022, so I feel like I can chill in 2023 and not have to chase as much. I'll still go after ECBP though. Always

100% agree on variety, balance, drinking the good stuff, and kombucha + sours. Great video Drew. Always appreciate your thoughtful perspective.

Yooo. This was the first channel I started watching after I got into whiskey 1.5yrs ago.
On the wine note. Wife and I love some reds and cabs as well. If you are into fruity and Kamboocha you need to try Sangiovese. ESpecially zero point by joe swick. Or “love you bunches”. Good stuff. Cheers and happy new year!

Nice to see you post since leaving for awhile. An idea for a future topic... "the Whiskey Experience"... what surrounds a great pour besides just tasting a dram. Things such as the glass you choose for that pour, the bottle design, the legacy of the distillery and/or the people who put the spirit in the bottle... what might you have to eat or snack with while enjoying it neat. How food and snacks might improve the experience while most surely influencing the taste. I'm sure that you and others can add to other considerations to include with a drink besides a great conversation and to make it a lot more than a technical dissection. Enjoy Life around a Passion.

I agree on those Russell’s store picks
I’m buying fewer bottles but trying to make sure everything is really good
I probably drink 2 bottles per month and trying to buy that same amount, net zero

Love your delivery and insight, Drew. You are the antithesis of the laughing-screaming-rambling-fools. Love French rones and Cali zins (cabs ehh). WA and Oregon are making some great pinot's too. Also like Spanish - Riojas and tempranillos. Portuguese reds from Douro have been surprisingly good and amazing values as well. Enjoy, cheers!

Glad to see you back! I also agree that Elijah Craig could be my only bourbon. These days I have been making a 1:1 blend of ECSB with Evan Williams 1783. Something about the two together really gives the result depth and range, with a total age range of 6-12 years. Would love to see you make a review of this!

Sour beers and kombucha are both awesome. I'm spoiled with both, living near Seattle.

I generally agree with you. I like the idea of sitting with a bottle for a week or two or however long until it’s gone; however that is just not who I am. I am a mood pourer for sure. Just like I don’t drink the same wine every night or every week or month, I need variety. You know what they say variety is the spice of life! Haha!!
Speaking of wine, talk about a awesome world to get into. Talk about vast. Love Cote du Rhône’s and Zinfandel might be one of the most underrated grape varietals. Cheers to exploring!

Vintage 38 in greendale, Wi is definitely worth a visit to try great wine. I also like French reds. Jammy and fruity is my thing. As for bourbon, the allocation hype and hoarding is a huge turn off. Ive been appreciating whats on the shelf and buying less. Happy new year!

You’re going the way of bourbinsane. That was a great channel until he up and quit. No judgement. Doing a channel on whiskey has got to take a toll on multiple fronts. Anyhow, good luck with whatever direction you decide to take.

The majors taste like piss; people who drink Bud, Coors or Miller have no business offering their opinion about beer styles. Sours are refined and tough to brew. Hit up Cascade, if you’re ever in the PDX area.
