- Here I present a simple instructional video on how to use a credit or debit machine.... you know, the ones at stores when you try to pay for them. I was inspired by a jpmetz video to make this. Here is a link for the original video in case she doesn't allow me to post this as a response the hell.

I know it's been over 2 years but I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!! Even if you screwed up a little and had to ask for help, all that matters is that you had the courage to try. It can be super hard to try new things that could potentially embarrass you (especially if you have social anxiety), and I am so proud of you for pushing through that doubt and pushing those bottons. I really needed this so my social anxiety can get in check before I go buy something at Riteaid.. My mom says everyone uses a credit card or debit card and it's not that hard, and somewhere inside of me I know that, but it JUST IS WAY MORE COMPLEX THAN HANDING SOMEONE MONEY. u gotta like stand there and swipe it and sign and like.. gosh, that awkward few seconds could be avoided with tangible cash

My mom got me a debit card when I was 16 and I’m 17 now and I still haven’t used it once (well only for online shopping😅) and now since my dad sent me some money from the stimulus check, he excepts me to use it in person. And I’m gaining so much anxiety because what if I forget my pin!! I have it somewhere safe but like- I zone out in public and makes me forget everything. Anyways this weekend ima buy shoes with my card hopefully everything goes well.

@Lodrongirl You choose to run a debit card as a debit or credit. The only difference is that running like a debit requires a pin verification, and running like a credit may only require a signature verification, or none at all (if the amount is small enough). Credit cards can only be run as a credit.

@Fmiguelify But like ev said, if you have a credit card like discovery,capital one,american express,visa credit card,or mastercard credit-use credit & use your signature. This card allows u to spend money you don't have at the moment & pay it back later(end of month). Usely w/ an interest rate charged by one of the companies listed above. But if you have a debit card. Which is given to you directly from your personal bank & gives you acess to your personal account than that is a debit card.

but what do you do when the person who was paying before you at the register and is now done but, they are either putting away thier bags in their cart or are temporarily in their own world and they are blocking the card machine and you only had one item which the cashier has already scanned and now all you need to do is use the machine but the person is still in the way (breathes)....I need help with that!

Stupid question here: so what's the difference between, debit or credit. Me thinking credit means it's on a monthly bill and debit the money will instantly be removed from your band account. right?

@Lodrongirl The difference is much more important than what has been described to you below, debit means that it's money being deducted that you have, that you have earned and that is in your bank account, real money that exists. Credit means you'll be paying with money that you don't have right now, but will have to pay back later and you're borrowing the money from the bank on credit, which you can pay back whenever you choose to.
