For the record, I actually did really like The Lego Batman Movie. Not as good as the first Lego Movie, but still a really fun ride that paid tribute to the rest of the Batman franchise really well. It's just that the reason it was made was to sell toys. That was going to be true whether or not it was good. That was the point I was trying to emphasize.
I think you make a really astute point how cartoon TV series are picking up the slack where animated movies are showing some assembly line behaviour (with some exceptions). Interesting choices for the list! Keep up the amazing work Nicktendo and have a cheery new year.

Jay Sherard why couldn't we have the show actually based on Star's mother keep in her kingdom safe in a war against monsters and watching her grow up ending with Star's birth? I mean, that sounds way more exciting and story driven, which seems to be what a lot of shows recently pretend to be " -Steven universe- " but then seem to prefer using filler and comedy. I mean, if you wanted to make a show like that, why did you create something that needed heavy world and story building. At least Star vs has got a lot more potential on that front than other shows Man I just want another Legend of Aang on the scene again...
Tales from the Citadel is one of the best examples of story telling I have seen. Each arc had a beginning, middle, and end. They were interesting and entertaining. Also extremely well acted. It wasn't until after I watched it when it dawned on me that the entire episode was voiced by one person.
for ok ko i think ‘let’s take a moment’ was the best episode so far. i believe this because it has a strong story line, a cliffhanger ending. i love how it showed why gar was always so scared of carol and overall i really loved the episodes.
My favorite episodes from last year were Give Bees A Chance from Sonic Boom, the Samurai Jack finale, The DuckTales premiere, Morty’s Mind Blowers from Rick & Morty, Toffee from Star VS The Forces Of Evil, and Queen For A Day from Tangled the Series.
I actually watched the Regular Show finale without watching the final season as well. Because of Cartoon Network's really bad airing schedule, I never had time to watch season 8, but I watched the finale without context, and still loved it. I later rewatched the whole series (multiple times), and it resonated with me more deeply.

Great List!! 2017 was a shitty year for animated movies (besides some exceptions such as Coco and LEGO Batman Movie, which were great), but it was a great year for television animation. OK KO, DuckTales 2017, and Samurai Jack season 5 are among some of the greatest cartoons I’ve seen over the past decade. I’m looking forward to seeing what 2018 has to offer (especially with the highly anticipated Incredibles 2 finally coming out).

I'm really glad that Milo Murphy's Law Christmas special made it on the honorable mentions list, because it was a good episode (even if it has some tiny issues that are symptomatic of the second half of the season). Can't blame you for not keeping up with it. It's had a lots of hiatuses. The Christmas special might not have a had a Christmas-y feel to it, but it really was something only that show could produce (if only for the "NO ROOF, NO ARGUMENT!" And "No human could survive in this weather" SLAM "Hey, it's open!" Lines.) the Halloween special was a little better , though... Right, anyway. Good list, though I probably wouldn't have put Spongebob up so high.

I think it has been a great follow-up to Phineas and Ferb with standout episodes such as the 44-minute special Missing Milo, as well as Island of the Lost Dakotas. Some of my other favorites that have been released this year are The Substitute and School Dance. Then there's Fungus Among Us, which is a prelude to the upcoming MML/PnF crossover, and probably would make more sense if you've seen Missing Milo.

The 'Samurai Jack' episode I'd have put on the list would have been 'XCVII.' I found that entire episode magnificent. Seeing all the old characters that Jack had helped in the original series and how they still remember him was awesome and more than the mere fan- service it could have been if handled poorly (I especially enjoyed the scene with the ravers), learning of Ashi's traumatic past was heartbreaking, then followed by her truly beautiful "Rebirth," the Scaramouche subplot was quite funny, and the ending in the graveyard was so thrilling. Just a gem of an episode from start to finish. To paraphrase Olivia's song in it, "I will never forget it 'till the day I die." I'd also add the 'Loud House' Halloween special, 'Tricked!' The character portrayals were great, the costumes each of the characters went with were fun and cute, the episode made awesome use of Lucy (As the show's Halloween special jolly well SHOULD), it had plenty of funny moments, the action was surprisingly solid, and the song 'You Got Tricked' was an epic win! I'd call it the best Halloween special to come along in quite a few years. Though, now that you mention it, 'Pulp Friction' was a wonderful ep, too. Another possible addition I'd have made would be the 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' episode 'Fame and Misfortune.' Some people disliked that episode, but I loved it for what it represents: Much like how the 'Ducktales' reboot is a pitch- perfect example of the right way to go about rebooting a classic series, 'Fame and Misfortune' is a pitch- perfect example of the right way for a show to go about making an episode geared around responding to fan criticisms that the show's writers find unfair or petty. It brings up the criticisms in ways that show the writers understand them (i.e. understand where the critics are coming from), provides good answers to them without belittling or talking down to the critics, has the courage to tackle and even criticize their own show's main strengths (As shown through its subplot of Pinkie Pie becoming self- conscious upon learning that most of her fans only value her for her humor), and does so in funny yet endearing ways. Plus, the song 'We're Not Flawless' was wonderful, too. The writers of 'Teen Titans Go' need to be forced, at gunpoint if necessary, to watch this episode and take notes on it before they make another episode of their own show geared around childishly insulting fans of the original 'Teen Titans' who rightfully criticize their show.
Best TTAF episode in 2017 is Taco Spaghetti Burger (HM: Space Conflicts, The Cool and The Nerd, Happy Town, and maybe Just Friends) Best WT episode in 2017 is King Craig and Freak Shows ( HM: Summer Campsite for Juvenile Kids, Franchise, and Weird Police Officers) Favorite Movie in 2017 is either Loony Checks, The Game Movie, Petey Portal , or Action Denied Least favorite is Hunky K II and Sold!

A NEW SONIC UNDERGROUND WOULD BE AWSOME!! It was my favorite cartoon when I was younger (yeah I know it kind of sucked, but it had a lot of potential) I think it would be an amazing show. The characters were interesting, many of the plots were interesting and most of the songs were pretty good. All they need to do to improve it is get someone who can actually animate characters that don’t look like a dumpster fire and hire more than two voice actors (those were honestly the only bad points)(except maybe for Sonics personality, but I think they were still trying to develop him)

The character portrayals were great, the costumes each of the characters went with were fun and cute, the episode made awesome use of Lucy (As the show's Halloween special jolly well SHOULD), it had plenty of funny moments, the action was surprisingly solid, and the song 'You Got Tricked' was an epic win! I'd call it the best Halloween special to come along in quite a few years. Though, now that you mention it, 'Pulp Friction' was a wonderful ep, too.
Another possible addition I'd have made would be the 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' episode 'Fame and Misfortune.' Some people disliked that episode, but I loved it for what it represents: Much like how the 'Ducktales' reboot is a pitch- perfect example of the right way to go about rebooting a classic series, 'Fame and Misfortune' is a pitch- perfect example of the right way for a show to go about making an episode geared around responding to fan criticisms that the show's writers find unfair or petty. It brings up the criticisms in ways that show the writers understand them (i.e. understand where the critics are coming from), provides good answers to them without belittling or talking down to the critics, has the courage to tackle and even criticize their own show's main strengths (As shown through its subplot of Pinkie Pie becoming self- conscious upon learning that most of her fans only value her for her humor), and does so in funny yet endearing ways. Plus, the song 'We're Not Flawless' was wonderful, too. The writers of 'Teen Titans Go' need to be forced, at gunpoint if necessary, to watch this episode and take notes on it before they make another episode of their own show geared around childishly insulting fans of the original 'Teen Titans' who rightfully criticize their show.
Best TTAF episode in 2017 is Taco Spaghetti Burger (HM: Space Conflicts, The Cool and The Nerd, Happy Town, and maybe Just Friends)
Best WT episode in 2017 is King Craig and Freak Shows ( HM: Summer Campsite for Juvenile Kids, Franchise, and Weird Police Officers)
Favorite Movie in 2017 is either Loony Checks, The Game Movie, Petey Portal , or Action Denied

A NEW SONIC UNDERGROUND WOULD BE AWSOME!! It was my favorite cartoon when I was younger (yeah I know it kind of sucked, but it had a lot of potential) I think it would be an amazing show. The characters were interesting, many of the plots were interesting and most of the songs were pretty good. All they need to do to improve it is get someone who can actually animate characters that don’t look like a dumpster fire and hire more than two voice actors (those were honestly the only bad points)(except maybe for Sonics personality, but I think they were still trying to develop him)
